I have the Nexus Galaxy GSM International version.
My phone just went into a bootloop and I can't figure out how to get it out.
I tried to factory reset straight from recovery mode, I was able to do the reset but the phone is still looping.
Then I unlocked the bootloader and tried to do a Factory reset and the same thing happend.... Boot LOOP!
Next thing i thought of doing is flashing the stock Image, Same thing happened the phone got stuck in a boot loop.
Sometimes if I let it loop for a bit it will load, othertimes it will just loop for ever.
I can't figure out the problem.
Please help!!
I am able to load the OS after about 3 minutes of looping.
Can anyone help me.
My phone now boots up but it gets stuck in a loop for about 3-5 minutes before it starts.
Download the galaxy nexus toolkit that is found in the development forum. boot into fastboot mode on your phone. Then use the toolkit 2 restore to stock, or install a custom rom. I personally recommend a o k p custom rom.

I have toolkit and I restored to stock.
This still did not help.
I wonder how many times will we read this kind of threads.... Does ppl even bother on using the search?
Dont get me wrong but theres a lot of ppl with similar issues and you can find a way out faster just by reading solved threads than waiting for answers

I read around and searched around I didnt find a resolution to my issue I wouldn't have posted a new thread if I was able to figure this out by looking at other people's problems
forget the toolkit and cwm learn to use fastboot to flash back to stock. lots of threads like this one out there.
I used fastboot to flash back to stock and i am still having the same issue.
My phone boots up, but it loops for about 3-5 minutes before it works.
what commands did you use for fastboot, did you use the fastboot in the toolkit or command prompt? what files did you use?
I used GalaxyNexusUnroot404 files. http://galaxynexusroot.com/galaxy-n...galaxy-nexus-gsm-to-android-4-0-4-ota-imm76i/
I used command prompt.
cd Downloads
cd GalaxyNexusUnroot404
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primela03.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxla02.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-yakju-imm76i.zip
I also tired toolkit before i posted this thread.

try using the images on google's site instead. try both the yakju and takju from that page, i was going to say try some of the older ICL53F and IMM76D to see if they work but they are not on google's page for download anymore.
if that still doesnt work than im not sure what you can do, using those images always fixed a bootloop for me.
here's the link for IMM76I yakju and takju on google's servers. https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Using Flashboot command prompt i flashed both yakju and takju, and I am still Looping!!
Any other ideas?
Bump
Use adb logcat to see WHY its bootlooping. "My device is in a bootloop" - great, thats really helpful.
fastboot erase userdata (warning: this will wipe sdcard)
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
Then reflash (flash them seperately, also no need to flash bootloader and radio again - explore that zip, theres a script there which executes commands to flash, enter them in order)

When you download the image files from google (take care what version you download, GSM or LTE) and you unzip the .rar, there is an .sh file (script to run in linux. Its equal to .bat (batch) file in windows) which is actually the code OP posts.
what do you mean by this? I tried rooting my nexus, and then now it's stuck in the google screen and won't come back. I would like to just revert back to stock and try again but I can't get past the google screen.
my galaxy nexus Says Dwonloading at the boot loader how can i stop that so i can fast boot?!
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a Gnexus in Brazil and after some tests, I decided to push Jelly Bean (v. 4.1.1). From my initial research, I've found out that step one would be replacing the brazilian ICS v. 4.02 image with a region free ICS v. 4.04. image. Here's what I've done:
a) First, I installed Gnex Toolkit v. 7.5 + drivers;
b) Then, I selected my phone model and build (ICL53F)/ICS v. 4.02, unlocked the device, downloaded the region free ICS 4.04 image (yakju-imm76i-factory-8001e72f.tgz) and moved it to "put_google_stock_images_here";
c) Finally, and moved to the "Download, Extract + Flash Google Factory Stock Rom";
d) The files could not be transfered, thou;
Some research revealed this command-line fastboot procedure: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1572307
That's when things went terribly wrong. I used 7-zip to uncompress the .tgz file, then pushed the individual files one by one. In the end, I got stuck on the loading animation.
In desperation, I tried to revert using this image http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1789179 and the same fastboot commands. The "system" copy failed and now I'm stuck on the Google logo. It's a mess...
Is there hope? Please, please, please I could use some help.
Would this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1781250 save my beloved Gnexus!? How should I proceed?
Thanks in advance.
solution found! hope this can help others...
Well,
It looks like fastboot can also solve everything. My Gnexus is alive again. Here's what I did:
a) downloaded this image: takju-imm76i-factory-e8c33767.tgz;
b) uncompressed everything using 7-zip to a single folder, the same where fastboot-windows.exe is;
c) used those fastboot commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-********.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-********.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fasboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
But there's still something that requires further investigation. The v. 4.1. OTA showed up, has been downloaded but did not install. I'm now stuck on v4.04. Do anyone know what's wrong? Any hints?
Thanks in advance, again.
EDIT: this method works, but make sure to add one more line up there:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Precisely.

Hey all, I attempted to fast boot restore my Toro Nexus back to stock JRO030. I have the factory image unzipped in my fast boot folder. I know fast boot works because I got my device listed when I type fast boot devices and I can get it to reboot to Os or fast boot bootloader. When I attempted step 1 which is to flash the bootloader, I typed fast boot flash bootloader bootloader-toro-primelc03 and I got "could not load bootloader primelc03". I attempted to try and flash a radio and got the same thing. What am I doing wrong? I hate to have to use a toolkit to go back to stock since I have to send my phone in for warranty issues but I'm not getting anywhere and the new phone is on its way to my house. Any help would be great, because I'm really trying to learn the right way to do things with this phone.

Yes, I finished up the command with .Img
I figured it out. My dumb ass had the factory images in a folder in the the fastboot file :silly: I moved them from the folder to the fastboot folder and lo and behold, I now know how to fastboot restore my phone back to stock! One other question I have, is it normal for it to reboot twice after you flash the system .img?

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I have a GNex on my hands.
While I received it to fix; I could not get it past a bootloop from the nexus 4.0.4 Boot.
Problem is I cannot seem to get past the boot animation screen nor upgrade it.
Tried flashing another bootloader via fastboot, and the bootloader does not change, stays in same version.
HW Version : 9
Bootloader version : PRIMEKK15
Baseband version : I9250XXKK6
I proceed doing a fastboot erase bootloader and trying another bootloader, rebooting into another bootloader but no luck
Tried also ODIN flash but no luck; stays into the same
Booting into recovery mode goes into stock recovery and tries to flash a file from /cache
By trying to flash CWM via fastboot flash recovery <cwm image> flashes image but no luck on booting into CWM.
Anbody can lend a hand please?
Thanks!

You can flash a custom recovery like cwm or twrp. Then you can acces the custom recovery and adb push your ROM and gapps. Then you do the wipes and flash the ROM and gapps. If you dont understand anything you just have to tell me

Thanks mrgnex. I've tried flashing TWRP, but the only thing it does is boot into stock recovery and tries to flash a file from /cache/, which file is: 5a81769b6d01.signed-yakju-IMM76I-from-ICL53F.5a81769b.zip; pretty weird. Issue is the same as this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1909331&page=4
use: fastboot boot recovery.img
and "recovery.img" which recovery do you suggest? twrp or a CWM in particular?

While now I'm trying to install latest TWRP (already did and no luck) I'm downloading the pack from the "Have you read this?".
The things that I'm seeing right now that seem to be wrong are:
1 - everytime I reboot the phone, the "fastboot oem unlock" seems to be gone and phone re-locks again (weird!)
2 - every change I make to the filesystem, seems to be non-persistent I/E: push something via adb push and on reboot it's gone! :/
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Surely:
1 - Unlock via fastboot oem unlock
2 - fastboot erase recovery (exits with ok)
3 - fastboot flash recovery twrp_versiondoesnotmatter.img (exits with ok)
4 - reboot w/power+vlup+voldown and select reboot recovery
5 - stock recovery appears
an alternate method that i've tried:
1 - Unlock via fastboot oem unlock
2 - fastboot boot twrp_versiondoesnotmatter.img (exits with ok)
3 - TWRP boots and flashes a zipfile from /cache/ then reboots automatically
That's what happens. A mistery, huh?
Also I've tried OMAP Flash, and; the same issue happens over and over again

AFAIK, Yes
What happens once I start the stock recovery; as I've already stated; starts flashing a zip file located into /cache/ (5a81769b6d01.signed-yakju-IMM76I-from-ICL53F.5a81769b.zip); then bleh, starts the bootloop again.
I've tried the power+volup then selected wipe cache and wipe system and it's the same.
Did you try flash google's stock images (all of them) ?
Also try flashing TWRP in the boot (kennel) partition by :-
Code:
fastboot flash boot <path to twrp>.img
This will force the phone into Recovery (But you will have recovery bootloop , can be solved by flashing a kernel) .
when you boot into recovery install a Kernel and ROM . also you will lose the recovery after that .
You can flash the TWRP from the TWRP itself (to put it in the right partition) by (in the build in terminal) :-
Code:
dd if=/<path to twrp in SD>.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8
Good Luck .

I've downloaded a file called OMAPFlash_tuna.zip.
- Set battery of the device aside
- Plug device into USB, let it detect the device and flash the SBF I think.

Hi all
generally i dont post to forums because usually searching around can find the answer i need and not waste anyones time. but on this, i really am stumped. ive gone through the process of rooting/unlocking/etc a bunch of different android phones and never had a problem like this before.
so i unlocked the bootloader/s-off/rooted all through rumrunner today. everything went fine, says *unlocked* and s-off in hboot. ran rootchecker and that is working fine.
tried flashing CWM - both through fastboot and the Rom Manager app. both would boot to white HTC logo screen with "Entering Recovery..." in pink on the top, sit there for a few seconds, and then reset and boot into normal os.
so i decided to use TWRP (never really used it much). tried it through fastboot and GooManager. well, same thing happens here.
have tried flashing both, as well as stock, a half dozen times each at least. made sure i had the correct versions of the .img files, fastboot erase cache 25+ times. nothing can get me into recovery.
currently flashed back to stock recovery to run OTA updates. the .15 one and the upgrade to 4.3.
please, any and all suggestions welcome!
Are you sure you are using the Verizon versions of the recoveries? There are several versions of both for the One.

See if you can fastboot flash an insecure Boot.img from my stock rom and radio thread.
If you are on the 1.10.605.15 software, grab the appropriate one that matches.
You will have to take the Boot.img out of the zip file.
Then place it in your fastboot/adb directory.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If that succeeds, then try flashing a Recovery again and see if it will load.
Not really sure that's the issue or why you are having that problem.
Seems to me, fastboot erase cache, and fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img should be enough.
