[q] how to hide this icon from notificacion bar??? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello
I would like to know how I can hide this icon, whenever I write something and get the keyboard this icon always appears in the notification bar, before I had a 4.0.3 ROM and it never was, but now update my rom to 4.0.4 and always comes when I write and I do not like that, Anyone knows how to hide it?

This icon is on all ICS versions. If you use stock keyboard it is hidden (cause you have that function when long pressing space), but on all others it will show.

Well obviously it was not on previous versions because the OP did not see it. I also never saw it on the stock versions when I had it. AOKP has the option to remove the IME switcher in their ROM Control, but it seems the OP is using a stock ROM

use a rom such as AOKP and hide "Show IME Chooser" in rom control

im using the new EaglesBlood ROM 4.0.4, old version 4.0.3 dont show me this icon and i dont like that.

Uncheck all the other keyboards you don't want in language & input.
For example. If you just want the stock keyboard with voice typing only check "google voice typing"

Get rid of the PinyinIME and OpenWnn from the ROM and it should go away.

Geez, it's just a small notification while you're inside a text box. Concentrate on writing and ignore it.

No, but metrostation is fantastic.
Get it here.
I use them in my dock and my lockscreen.
You can even change the colors with a single tap.

Gotta ask a question not related with the topic: does the default lockscreen allow you to set more shortcuts? 'cause I have pure ICS on my Xperia Ray (not the SONY official ICS) and the lockscreen doesn't have more options but unlocking and camera shortcut.
I use Widgetlocker, but sometimes goes slow.

Stock ICS doesn't let you customize at all. You get unlock to the right, camera to the left.

Ooook, so I gotta ask jgalan14, what lockscreen are you using?

Spelling Correction - how to add it to ICS?

Hey all,
ICS has a built in spelling correction that looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
On my xperia arc with official ICS there is an option in the menu to turn the spelling correction on, but it seems like it lacks dictionaries - the result is that it's not working. Any idea how to fix this? I know CM9 has this working properly.
Play around with the settings... in keyboard etc. and if not just download another keyboard.apk or something
That keyboard is from the store I believe, I've got the same one that I took from CM.

This spell checking is an ICS feature that has nothing to do with keyboard. On cm9 I was using swiftkey and had this spellcheck, yet swiftkey itself does not include this feature. Even the option in the menu to enable this spellchecking is outside of keyboard options.

Well it has something to do with the keyboard as it doesn't work on stock...

I have this issue too. I've tried changing the spelling correction to various system languages as well as the custom list of languages and none work. It is completely separate to the keyboard in a setting called "spelling correction". But there's only one choice "android correction" and i can find a way to install other options to choose instead of this broken version.

[Q] Modding LJ7 Touchwiz Status/Notification Bar

I have read several threads that pertain to modding the status bar, but I couldn't find specifically what I'm looking for. I recently flashed the latest update (deodexed LJ7 from Freeza) and would like to remain on the stock ROM for now. I was wondering if it would be possible to do these two things without a custom ROM.
The first would be changing the icons for the notification bar to the stock Jelly bean look (blue themed) like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The second thing I would like to do is have the stock notification pull-down menu like below, in order to use an app like Notification Toggles to customize what shows up without having all the extra mess from Touchwiz.
Try uot kitchen...... I've used it before to change my icons. Ie. Battery wifi and signal bars

I'd recommend this as well ; or look at some of the threads of how to manually manipulate the system.ui apk and make the changes yourself.

Seems like it no longer gets updates so hopefully it works with JB. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the suggestion. I played around with it and didn't see anything that would allow me to get the stock Android pull-down notification menu. Any idea if that's possible without a custom ROM?

Gmail Question

Running AOKP JB M1 Build 5. Just received an update to Gmail that says I should have the option to delete emails from the notification bar, but I still only have the option to "Reply" or "Archive".
Does anyone know how to set this up so that I can delete without actually having to open my gmail?
Go to the Gmail settings and see if you can enable the delete option.
Well mine updated, and I don't have any options in the notification bar other than swiping it to make it go away. I'm on Jedi Jelly.
Must be a ROM thing then...I did go into Gmail and can now swipe to delete which makes more sense to me then archiving.

I can do that from within the app. But just not when I pull down the notification bar.
"What's in this version:
Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and up:
• Reply, archive or delete from notifications - no need to open the app"
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I went into my Gmail settings and changed the Swype action from archive to delete. Voila...I can now delete emails from the notification bar...badass.

I feel ripped or just stupid. It's just not working.
Edit : yeah I'm stupid. Seems silly that I have to swipe down every time on the email notification itself to see the delete box. That was never mentioned anywhere. I found that gem on the support page. I thought it was supposed to be automatic. If there are 2 emails, it doesn't let me do it though.

You have to delete all your other keyboards to get this to work and you have several if you are stock.
