hey i wanna know some good app for clicking pic like a DSLR camera .. lol kidding.. want a app that uses the wfs camera AT ITS OPTIMUM level.. and gives me the best pic it can everytime.. let it be a paid app or free but tell me some nice ones thanks in advance..
Camera zoom FX, Camera 360, Camera ICS, ProCapture, MIUI camera.
All of them give, more or less, similar results (you can't expect pro photos from mediocre hardware) and all of them has options that makes them diferent:
- Zoom FX and camera 360 have filters that you can apply right on picture;
- ProCapture has interesting and usable panorama mode;
- Camera ICS has 2x video birtrate recording... etc.
But... what i learned from years of photo hobby and what i missed from stock camera (don't use stock rom long time now) was "touch to focus" option which is visible right on display and really makes changes to exposure of photos. Camera 360 has that one but it doesn't do anything (at least for me) to exposure at all.
So curently i use MIUI camera which have that possibility and it does make photos as close as possible to what i want.
UCam is a better cam app. You try it

Hi, have been using stock sgs camera. Its okay.. but was wondering if there's a better camera app out there.
When I had my HTC magic, camera 360 really improved the quality of the photos.
But when I compare the photos I took on my sgs from the stock camera app vs camera 360, I kinda prefer the stock camera colours.

Have you tried Vignette. It has loads of different settings.
I've only tried the demo version of vignette. And that does not allow the 5mpx resolutions to be used. Besides the array of settings, does vignette actually improve the quality of the photos taken? Thanks.

The full version of Vignette does indeed take better quality images, but it takes significantly more time to process the photos.
i just tried vignette and the quality was near enough the same .. refunded it cos it wasnt worth the money
the camera is the only thing i dont like about this phone
Have you tried the Photoshop app? Its not exactly a camera application but it has lots of settings for touching photos up afterwards. Maybe one of the filters will give you the effect you require
I too would pay for a real pro app. Something that will take higher res panorama shots and something with a real HDR function. By real I mean not a simulation and not tone mapping from the gallery pics. There's a app for the iDevices that works wonders on the iP4. Tried everything so far, still waiting.
Try: camera 360 pro

360 pro simulates HDR and simulates a lot of other stuff, we need a app that actually takes better shots etc. At least that's my experience with it.
The camera apps on the android market are really sub-par.
I don't use the camera much to begin with, but an app as good as Hipstamatic or Camera Pro like on the iPhone would be great.
Vignette has an ugly interface and has average picture quality, and Retro Camera has horrible picture quality.
Hy everybody,
I can't bear Sense any longer (multitasking is crap, everything is full of scam etc...)
Tried out some AOSP rom's and you can't come back, even for the cam...
So here is my question, is there a camera app out there with the same features ? (taking pics during filming, rapid burst shots to select the best one)
Thank you very much

I don't really think there is a camera that has any of the advanced features of the Sense camera. The Sense camera was built for the camera in this phone, so it can utilize all the features. Camera Zoom FX has some effects, I hear people like lgcamera too.
I know what you mean though. I'd love a non-Sense ROM, but I don't want to give up the camera. The camera is a very important part of the phone to me.
There are ROMs that are mostly AOSP while retaining some parts of the Sense framework.
JDR0iD_eXoDiZeD is one example, and it has the Sense camera app.
The only problem with most of these camera apps is that they produce images with too much noise (at least on the HOX).
Camera ICS + is good for pics.
Nothing beats LGCamera as far as recording videos is concerned.

I have:
- ICS+ camera (for pictures and video)
- LG Camera (for pictures and very good for video)
- Camera FV-5 (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Shot Control (for picture with advanced/professional settings)
- Pro Capture (for picture with lot of settings and burst mode)
Hi, all
I'll be switching over to AOKP (probably once build 40 comes out) from Juggernaut, but my only hesitation is losing the stock camera app, which I've come to love.
Any recommendations for a replacement with the same feature set? That is, one that takes advantage of all the tweaks available for our camera (exposure, metering, ISO, white balance). I don't care so much about filters (I prefer taking "regular" photos) or upload/sharing capabilities. I just want to take high quality shots with a stable app, preferably one that's not particularly resource heavy.
From what research I've read, these are the apps on my watch list:
Camera360
CameraZoom FX
Vignette
IgCamera
Any recommendations? Thanks, all
I use Camera FV-5. I am a semi-pro photographer and this app makes me miss my 5DMKII a little less.
Bro I use procapture and it works great. Way better pics.
+1 camerazoom fx

Stock camera app from Sony have some problem with the focus when taking picture at dark place, the picture taken also quite blurry.
majority of the time out of focus.
I have Xperia S ICS (.55) and I use Stock Camera cuz its the Best.
Normally I use Auto but I already Customize Norma Mode for use in different Mood.
I use Cybershot mod with HDR

Same as this guy.
I don't know why Camera Zoom FX always takes better pictures than the stock camera app
I'm really interested in Camera Zoom FX. Does anyone know if it works on Cyanogenmod 10? The stock camera app on it doesn't have enough settings
Hey guys,
So who's given the G3's camera a run using Google's Camera app? I've tried it several times alongside the native camera app, and I realize that Google's Camera app doesn't seem to work as great as the native app.
It seems the laser assist autofocus does not work on Google Camera, since it takes a second or so for the camera to focus, instead of a few milliseconds with the native app.
HDR on Google Camera does not work as intended, either resulting in an image looking like normally shot or even at times darker.
Video recording using Google Camera app is limited to 1080p instead of 4K.
There is one thing positive with the Google Camera app though, and that it has a larger field of view compared to the native camera app. The Google Camera app almost makes it seem that the native camera app is zoomed a few times closer than it should be. I'll try to take a comparison shot to show you guys what I mean, but you can simply download the app and try it yourself
Next, I will try how the camera works with CameraZoom FX app.
Well that was expecting since I believe lg made things to work with stock...but let us know which third party works best!
I use the Google app for photosphere and lens blur.

Coming from an N5, I quickly got the Google Camera after getting my G3, but then realized the only reason I liked the Google Camera was because I shot everything with HDR+. I do miss that feature from the N5, since the G3 does not a good job at white balance in some lights, and HDR+ would always get me great looking photos, but could only shoot static targets and would take a while to shoot.
I also tried VSCO Cam and it doesn't offer much when it comes to camera settings, so things end up looking almost the same as stock, but with the slower focus like you mentioned.
Did someone come up with a way to change the way the stock camera oversharpens low light photos? It's pretty bad.
Has anyone tried LG Camera on the G3?

I only installed the Google Camera for photosphere. There really isn't any other reason to.
Also, I think the stock LG camera does have a lens blur effect.
