Hello Everybody,
Am totally new for the Android and i just received my HTC Desire HD 2 days ago
i spent these 2 days navigating the web trying to collect as much knowledge about my new phone
i became interested about Rooting topics ... even though i did not found a full simple guide to do it on my Desire HD
can i root my Desire HD or not? based on the details below
The phone is Branded to Vodafone UK
Android Ver.
2.2.1
Baseband Ver.
12.28e.60.140fU_26.04.02.17_M2
Software No.
1.75.161.2
if yes, could you please provide me with some kind of detailed specific guide to do it with the required software links
if no, why? and what specifically should i wait for?
sorry guys for talking so much
but as i mentioned above am totally new in Android...
Thanks a lot in Advance
Best Regards,
You can't root on 2.2.1 without S-OFF (to have S-OFF U must have a root). We must wait for solution.

Here you can downgrade.
Hii guys..
I am new to this forum.
I need to root my HTC DESIRE HD (gingerbread), with s/w number 2.37.720.3.
But I have learnt from many other sites and other threads in this forum that
Desire HD must be downgraded first.
There are ways to downgrade for s/w number 2.36.XX.X, but couldn't find any for 2.37.
Hope some one kind enough could help me out.
Thanks in advance guys..
Regards,
K.Sagar.
I am afraid you are stuck without root my friend, you cannot temp root 2.37 with gingerbreak and hence downgrade is impossible at present. I guess you will have to wait for HTC to open their bootloaders and then flash a custom rom with root in it.
When HTC will open DHD bootloader... only time will tell.
Thanks for the info dude..
hmm that's not a pleasant news...If I knew that I'd never go for gingerbread update. I do get htc sense error frequently. That's really annoying. so any way I'm positive that the xda pro will come up with solution.
Cheers
Hmm, I reckon someone will figure this out.
Soon, I hope!
Hope you guys at XDA will figure it out... Please find out a solution...
Thank you guys in advance..
Really awaiting a solution..
Yups, guess we all would like to know when HTC opens it's DHD bootloader ...
So did any1 find a way to root 2.37.720.3??? I m pissed with tjis stock rom...vry unstable...wifi conntection drops...no update in india ((

Hi All,
Just wondering if there is already a way to root 2.37, I can't seem to find any update on this.
Link was given 4 posts back?? Or use ACE Hack Kit on the forum.
Thanks, another question I have 2.37.707.4 is this considered a branded phone?

try this for downgrading
I would love to root my DHD but I have no space memory cards or anything and I am a bit of a dumb blonde too but I guess I will just have to leave it with what I got
Go get yourself a SD card and use the method posted above

1) yes, you can root your phone by a) disabling security (s-off) using alpharev x b) use a tutorial somewhere called the wildfire index (or something similar) in htc wildfire android development sub-forum (its a sticky)
2)yes
3)yes, there are plenty available in the android development sub forum
Thanks For Help
but remember rooting your phone will void its warranty.....but you will surely enjoy if your phone is already rooted....
