[REQ] Puzzle Lockscreen from Fascinate.

I was wondering if anyone has ported the Puzzle lockscreen from the Fascinate to the Epic.

If you are talking about the grid where you put in a certain pattern to unlock the phone we have that, its just not activated by default. Its under settings>security....not sure the exxact pathway but its there

I don't know how to port it but you can find it here at xda in the fascinate themes and apps section under the thread called (MOD) stock lockscreen and the file is enable_glass_lock. Also the captivate keyboard is there in update.zip format. Hope this helps someone maybe get the lockscreen ported over.

Any word on this, or something similar? I have a Captivate, and after raving so much about how great it is, my boyfriend just got the Epic.
It's a great phone, but the lockscreen is very annoying. Does anyone know of a lockscreen replacement where you can swype in any direction like the Captivate, even if it doesn't have the puzzle aspect? I have found a couple of replacement locksreens, but they all seem to be iPhone style, slide to the side.

U can do stock android or sense lockscreens with widget locker.

I've tried a few times to no-avail. It seems while the remnants of the code are there, the full code is not. I'll look more into it after Official 2.2 releases. Until then, it would be quite pointless considering it would have to be redone for the 2.2 release.

its certainly possible to do it...you have to add the images to the frameworks and mod 2 jars i believe...we have 5 lockscreens on the fascinate courtesy of sbrissen...so it just takes some tinkering

basically someone would have to diff the fascinate lockscreen mod and then integrate it in...not easy certainly...but your community is pretty large and has a lotta smart people in it

Can anybody please port a working touchwiz 4.0 to this phone? I know I lot of people don't like it, but I do. Thanks.

its been discussed before...but the entire oem skin will not be possible on htc (well reasonably possible)
there is a universal touchwiz launcher out there though for all phones including aosp

honestly its not much different than what htc, moto, and lg have done at different points (com.htc.resources.apk, blur-res.apk, and i forget what lg named theres)
fwiw resources is the most difficult to deal with because it contains so much of the entire sense framework in it
samsung is looking like its moving away from twframework-res as in gingerbread, virtually nothing is used from it except system colors

These Roms are basically all WIP. They are for any dev that wants to take them over. Im switching to the sgsII and trading my ns4g.. which means I can not work on these

This rom seems to be completely functioning, i have recieved messages and it plays notifications, the touchscreen just doesnt work. So after first boot the screen shuts off, and thats it. This would be a good one to fix

MIUI 4.0 ICS NS4G ( I didnt see this on here for the NS4G, so I got it running. didnt try to fix anything, just got it to boot, and most things worked. )

Nice! I liked how you thought outside the box here. It will be nice if you bring some of your ideas/projects from here over there. The stock ROM has been tweaked in almost every possible way. Getting a Sense port or something really different on that big screen would be nice!

You guys really want TouchWiz? It's terrible. I have an Epic and all we try to do is get rid of it. I guess TouchWiz 4 is ok though.

I have the epic touch and am using my nexus until they can get ics on it touch whiz isn't that bad but its bad enough for me not to want to use the best phone on sprint. Plus I got my galaxy nexus so that's holding me over for the mean time

Many (myself included) felt the same way about Sense. I HATED Sense with a passion when I had my Evo, but some people actually wanted it ported over to the nexus.
It's bizarre... those that have a bloated mess of a launcher/fork want vanilla or themed aosp - and nexus owners with vanilla aosp want the bloated Sense mess.

I personally just wanted something other than stock vanilla, miui, tweaked stock vanilla, cm7 vanilla, themed stock vanilla etc.. so I went for random things that maybe not everyone wanted really bad, like the droid razr port or sense 3.5.
I started to hate aosp on my nexus, it was the worst thing and i would have rather flashed froyo sense..

Added my updated one to the op.

Touchwiz on the Epic Touch is nothing like it was on the Epic. It is blazing fast and smooth. If I could change the icons, I would never use a 3rd party launcher but ADW EX has me hooked right now

Its Anyone Working on a Galaxy Note rom port?

I was looking into some g note videos and actualy liked how the software worked but didnt like how big it is.

You mean, port the Galaxy Note touchwiz over to the Epic Touch? To my knowledge, it hasn't been done. I can only see a couple of features that its build has that the ET4G doesn't, mainly the stylus notes feature. It's got a little different method to take a screenshot than we do (however, I like ours better). Can you clarify what you'd like to see from the note in the ET4G?

you will never be able to use that kind of stylus on the et4g... it has a wacom sensor for it built in. aka like fm radio. we dont have the tech in the device to do it.

you want someone to port a touchwiz rom to a device that already runs touchwiz? wtf am i reading?

I mean don't get me wrong some of the features it has would be nice even though we could never use the stylus. BUT since we have ICS now, until the Galaxy Note gets the ICS update, I don't see any of it's features being ported.

It has nothing we don't have. Besides a different lockscreen, new messages app, a few icon changes ,n of course pen memo which would be useless for us who don't have a stylist.. probly tweaked system settings for tw 4.0;

Your first and second sentences contradict each other...
As it was stated just before me, a lot of Devs are jumping on the ICS bandwagon. Although I love some of the tricks you can do with that S Pen, without a stylus its hard to imagine what functionality that would add to a phone that already does everything. I understand where you're coming from OP, but you might have to just do like me and get the Galaxy Journal when it launches soon.

Someone can most likely add on screen menu buttons. As far as icons and widgets, you may be able to find close substitutes

The only advantage I find in the s4 is dev support but so far I'm okay with LG software.
I really can't get past how small the s4 is..I've been spoiled by my Note 1 for so long anything smaller isn't an option for me.

Agreed! I've also felt like the S4 is a bit flimsy by comparison. When I hold my G Pro it feels solid and sturdy. When I hold my girlfriend's S4 it just feels light and cheap. Having all kinds of Dev and ROM support would be nice, but the LG Software isn't as bad as TW and we've got thecubed hard at work cracking the bootloader open.
Until Samsung steps up their build quality I'll be sticking with other manufacturers.

Same thing here. I bought the St and found the screen to be too small. This phone is perfect on the stock ROM.

I seriously can't stand Touchwiz. For the first time in a long time the manufacturer UI on a phone doesn't really bother me. Rock on LG!
Seriously the only gripe I have is that the contacts app doesn't let me manually join contacts.

tap the contact, tap the menu button, tap join, tap the contact you wish to join.

Well I've decided to keep all the phones( note 2, LG Optimus gpro, and the s4. I said I wasn't going to be that guy spending so much money on phones but it just kinda happened. Lol and now I can't make up my mind...damn you cell phone manufactures.

I had the S4 and I sold it and bought the G Pro and love the G pro Better because the more customization and that cool led notification around the home button I rooted, but I will probably never put a custom rom on it:good:

You can't because there's nothing available. I have both phones and I gotta say that I hate not being able to install custom roms. Also when it comes to updates, LG sucks. It took over a year for LG to release ICS for Thrill. Even then, the ROM still sucks and still outdated. It's slow as hell. The OGP has somewhat up to date ROM now, but I'm afraid that it'll be stuck at 4.1.2 forever while the S4 is enjoying the unannounced 4.3.

Just because it's leaked doesn't mean it'll get 4.3 anytime soon. As for this phone, better than the rest in my opinion. Gs4 is good but I couldn't stand the lag and even though had custom Rom on it I couldn't help but be annoyed by the samoled screen, especially after owning the nexus 4. Regardless of when we will get custom roms, this phone is still badass the way it is. Stock Rom updates, who needs em? Majority of us are going to install custom anyways and those we don't want to do custom just root.

Touchwiz encompasses more than just the launcher. It's the theme of the settings, SMS, browser... the default icons. I just don't care for it. It feels web 1.0 on a web 2.0 world
