I'm mailing out my nexus with a cracked screen tomorrow and my new one should be here in a few days. If I copied my titanium backup to my PC would I be able to put it on my new nexus and restore it or is it more to it. I googled it and there looks like there are issues when moving it to different model of phone. But since this is the same one will it be OK ?

yes if you back up your titanium stuff and move it onto your computer.. it'll be fine, just make sure that they aren't system apps.
i do this all the time when moving game saves from my phone to my tablet (and vice versa).
Cool, I don't give enough credit to Titanium backup, I should use it more.
Thanks for the help bro

Im going to upgrade to a nexus 4 next week, i have a galaxy nexus that's in like new condition. I would like to keep it as a backup, but i feel that it would be a waste to have it just stashed away as a backup phone. What do you guys think? i looked on ebay and they seem to selling for around $200.

should definitely keep it as a back up you know just in case and plus in the future you might want to use it to try out Ubuntu phone OS, at least that's what i would do

Now that the whole Ubuntu thing is out finally for gnex an is just a non functioning demo I guess its safe to ditch the gnex as that was the only reason ppl held back on upgrading an getting a new phone or the fact their gnex wasn't that old, my iPhone 5 jailbroken with evasi0n on iOS 6.1.2 will get me by till the 2013 nexus arrives.

The nexus is selling for around 250. But I would still keep it. It is still a solid phone
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I say sell it !! Reason behind that is simple, it would always remain a comparison between the nexus 4 and galaxy nexus IF U keep it !!
Else you dont have an option .. Haha

Still undecided , I will wait a few weeks and see how I like my nexus 4 if I don't have any issues with the nexus 4. My gnex is going.

I personally would sell it, to have a little extra money, but that's me.
In an ideal world, I'd keep it around as a toy, or perhaps to use as a media player. Hell, you could even use MHL with it to output it to your TV as a sort of wireless streaming media player.
Hello guy's! I currently have the G2x but I want to change it because I have a lot of problems with it. I was wondering if the Galaxy Nexus is still a good choice because it is only 280$ (approx.) on swappa and it would fit my budget. I have no problems buying an used device. If the galaxy nexus isn't a good idea, can you guy's recommend me something else?
(PS: Is there a way I can buy a new (in the box) GNex?)
I bounce back and forth between my GNex and HTC One S (cost $300).
I like the Nexus better. Bigger screen, pure android, huge development community, removable battery... However, it is a couple years old. Have you thought about the Nexus 4. Not much more cash and definitely a better phone. I bought one for my wife as a gift. It beats the GNex in all categories and you can get an 8 gig for 300.

I listen to a lot of music, and even 16gb wouldn't be enough for all the stuff I have. I want to be able to play games, listen to movies etc. I guess I could put everything in the cloud, but over here in Canada, mobile internet price are ridiculous. That's why I thought about the GNex, it has a sd card slot.

AW: [Q] Is the Galaxy Nexus a good choice?
If you want to save all of your movies/music/pics... on your phone than you will get trouble
I would save more money and buy a nexus4 (32gb) or a phone with a external sd card
Sent from my PurityCylon-GNex.
Dude, you can always buy an OTG cable and carry your movies/song/whatever on a plain old usb stick. Just install stick mount app and you're good to go.

If you need SD I would say maybe look for a GS3. I would love an SD slot on my nexus devices but I'm personally willing to give up that feature for the nexus experience. Since I also have a nexus 7 that I use for movies music and more serious gaming my 16GB gsm nexus works fine for me with about 6GBs free.

My main issues:
- terrible battery life: LTE really drains it
- hard to hold on to 4G reception: in many parts of LA, I notice my phone switching to 3G and back, sometimes dropping the data connection completely (this probably is Verizon's fault, though; YMMV in other areas)
- Verizon doesn't update as frequently as GSM carriers
Other than those, it's been great, but the data connection thing really kills me. I'm guessing once LTE is rolled out completely, it shouldn't be an issue anymore. That being said, I think I'm going to jump ship once the next Nexus comes out!
Ran into an odd situation, if I swap physical phones on my account can I do it while being touted on CM10 or would I have to go back to stock? Thanks on Sprint

Yep I used an upgrade on one of my 5 phones and want to swap devices. Not sure if I need to go stock so when they re provision with numbers things go smoothly
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Should be fine as is.
You don't need to be stock to swap plans or move devices around to other lines in your account.
The only time you want to revert to stock is if for a warranty repair through the carrier. A lot of times they don't even care but a rom can introduce weird bugs that can be mistaken for hardware malfunctions.

Hi everyone. I gotta a note2. Wow, what did I do? This phone is hugeee. I like it by the way. Coming from gnex, it is such a change for me.

In two days you will say "I will never buy a smaller phone than this ever again!" Trust me.
Note II is the best phone I have ever had.
You will either love it or hate it, to me its a boon, coming from a dell streak, its actually smaller but with a bigger screen, even in its Otterbox Defender its actually slimmer.
Just one question please. If I install a prerooted rom via Odin , how do i backup the data, like photos? Should I have a external card and put everything there ?

This is the best phone first you should root and install cwm to install other roms, you could install sammy roms or aosp roms whic doesnt include all the s pen and sammy apps, good luck
Is there a volume wake mod for stock roms ? I mean wake up the device by pressing the volume buttons.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
the first think that you should do is check that it doesn't have SDS affected chip.
I agree with the fact that when you have used it for 2 or 3 days you'll never buy a smaller phone!

I also came from a Nexus and didn't feel that the phone was too big. The Nexus isn't a small phone.
But if you try using a smaller phone, like an iphone, it feels like using a watch...
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
yeah i had a gnex too.
it is not so much big. (i think 5.5" will be the normal size in the future like 5" today)
But be carefull, once you get a bigger phone, you cant never use a smaller one. lol

I was just curious if this phone allows you to move apps to your sd card unlike the note 2

No. But it has 32 GB of internal storage so it tends to be plenty.

Yes you could. I purchased the full version for use with my s3 and s4 and it works a treat. However, is it really necessary with 32gb?

You probably can by rooting but seeing how I don't have the phone and was just doing some research on it and my friend is looking at getting the phone and he isn't big into the whole rooting thing but thanksfor your guys help
