[Q]gingerbread keyboard language issue

im experiencing problem while running new gingerbread keyboard.
I'm croatian and prefer qwertz keyboard over qwerty, so while using sense roms i just sticked to Deutschland language settings. I even got specific letters like š and č while long pressing on basic letter (s and c).
In cm7 i started with german language to get qwertz, but specific letters are missing. When i change settings to croatian, which is on the list in cm7, i get keyboard which doesnt show all numbers on long press(they dont even show above letters - see pic). Specific letters are not working as well.
Anyone knows how im supposed to fix this, and whats it all about?

Sense roms are different to non sense roms. Non sense use the stock Google keyboard. You could try to download another keyboard from the market or have a look around in the dev section. But if you looking for something similar to the sense keyboard then I don't know.

i know about differences between sense and non sense, was just wondering whats wrong with gingerbread keyboard, look at screenshot, it got 1,2,4,5 and 0 only on long press, cant find logic behind that... so thought its bug or something like that

That isn't how it's supposed to be (neither on mine). Try 'MultiLing keyboard' on the market. It's the GB keyboard in a few styles with great fixes (and many languages supported but you must install their dictionaries through the app).

i tried multilang keyboard and i love it, but it doesnt fix the problem for me - there is no croatian language, so i stick with german for now, cos its only one with qwertz...
i did tweet dev about including croatian tho...

i found working solution for myself -> using htc ime mod by Jonasl, i got qwertz again plus all country specific letters i need
in case anyone wants it - its here(you have to install clicker.apk and htc_ime.apk with file manager -> do not flash it), i even added gingerbreadish theme so it fits better in cm7
all credits go to Jonasl for his mod and gIMpSTa for his theme kitchen
it works for me on cm7 nightly, should on oxygen as well

Useful tips:
Long click on a contact row to get more actions.
Click on "more" icon (three vertical dots) at the end of a contact row to get more actions.
Long click on entered digits to make a selection.
Swipe the dialpad down to hide it.
Scrolling the call log or contact list also hides the dialpad.
Long click * (star) or # (pound) keys to enter Space character.
Click Dial button to redial the last number.

Nice! The only feature I miss compared to exDialer is that the T9 search also search inside the notes fields of the contacts. Ideally the fields to search should be configurable.

I am trying to find a keyboard with both the letters and numbers on one screen. I need to be able to enter both without pressing symbol button or shift to change keyboards. Do you guys know any APK's or program that would allow this? I have tried swift key and perfect keyboard and they didn't work.

I don't know of anything like what you want, and this should probably be posted in the themes and apps section, or the question section, but definitely not the Development section.

Swiftkey works fine. What did not work for you?

I am curious too as to why SwiftKey doesn't work for you. If you long press on a key either the single additional options will post or like the below will happen. View attachment 1746389

This one has a free version, but I don't know if you can add the numbers on the front keyboard on the free version. I know you can on pro. It looks like the aosp keyboard. You of course can customize it. Its worth the $3.

It is customizable as far as colors and layout, etc. I like it a lot! the numbers can by one tap change to punctuatuins, and arrows, etc.

So, the official Gapps somehow have problems with their add-on dictionary, so we can't get access to Emoji for English words. Fortunately, I've combine the the Minimal Gapps and the Working Google Ime and Dictionary pack!^^

To enable it, go to Settings > Language & Input > Android Keyboard (settings button)
After that, go to TEXT CORRECTION section > Add-on Dictionaries
Now click on Emoji for English words > Press Install
And you're done! To use it on your keyboard, simply type in words like cloud, plane, phone and so much more, it's on your keyboard now!

It's for all Jellybean 4.2 ROMS in all phones, just like official gapps, go for the gapps written keyboard and photosphere, even if our wonder don't have photosphere, the feature will be ignored automatically, so you don't have to worry! this is for the Emoji fix and some updated apps maybe, but if the official gapps doesn't effects you much, then go for the official one!

You can do that in Personal Dictionaries, select your language, click the plus button above, type in the stuffs you want in the PHRASE and type the text on the SHORTCUT!

[DEV] Windows 8.1 Touch-Keyboard Customisation & more

Hi all
after some research to customise the W8 on screen keyboard,
i have replace a duib resources by a duib xml extracted from W8 beta version....
this can also be used to edit some other parts of the Modern UI...
this work is at alpha stage an contain some visual bug as you can see at the end of this post.
i'm always working on it but i hope some users will also contribute!
you can try this mod by replacing the dll tabskb.dll by the attached version (x64)
or replace the resources UIFILE/15731 in yours using reshack.
there is a lots of customisation possibility:
add a key border (color,size...)
change key background color.
change keyboard background color...
& a lot more with better understanding of the duib xml...
you need to take ownership of the file & kill tabtip.exe....

During my test i have found some registry key used for the start menu animation but not present !

In fact stock keyboard background is transparent but the Tabtip window is black.
Maybe by editing an other resources,i will take a look...

IMHO - one of the biggest things needed for windows 8.1, is opacity control, and gesture support for the onscreen keyboard. I have the 8" Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, and when the keyboard pops up, it literally takes up 3/4 of the screen in landscape mode. Portrait mode is not so bad, I would love to have gesture support as well - swipe like functions. The feature is now on Windows Phone (gestures), why cant we get it on W8.1.

it would be good to know how to change the font size on the "extended" (full) keyboard ... I would like it to be "Bold" type like on the normal keyboard.

does anyone know of a swipe keyboard for w8.1? I Tried TouchPal and it say it has the swipe feature, however when I check it does nothing?
