I'm getting my new Evo 4g tuesday. And I want to root it straight up. What is the best way to do this? Is their something like 1 click root? Also I'm looking for a rom that has all the Sprint Bloatware removed and keeps just the Htc sence gui but a nice clean Rom which one is best?
Thanks!
I wont say use the search function but common now!

Oh? Maybe you posted in the correct place on the other forum.
Well, that's where you should have posted to begin with (Q/A section) and you wouldn't have gotten any smart remarks

lol..... funny how people who clearly dont read the rules and clearly make a mistake instead of saying my bad take their lumps and go on..... still have something smart too say... but damn only like 4 comments before he said something I was hoping for more so I could laugh.... Thx anyways guys...
OP - really though lol
Why is this as common as it is?
Can the admins or mods put a warning up when making a thread saying something along the lines of "Make sure you are posting in the correct section or you will be flamed and/or murdered. "
Alright guys. Thread purpose has died. He found his answer elsewhere. No point in continuing to beat him to death.

HELP.
I was switching between an HTC Sense Rom and Gingerbread roms by using clockwork
Recovery 3.0.5 and selecting install.zip from SD card. Any rom that i try and install
Gets to flashing kernel and then produces error status of 7. I can't get passed the white screen
With the HTC logo.
Any assistance would be so much appreciated.

first off all wrong section, try the search button next time.
for your problem try wiping data/cache, then try and flash a rom, if it docent work, try and re flash your recovery.
I think people need to know what a "Brick" is...

well freaking said !
people or dev that just say that ,waste time posting 'wrong section" and should at least provide with a right direction or link instead of being asswholes about it.
being more helpful is part of being in xda or a rom dev, justsaying though.

Well said is quite the understatement. Has anyone seriously tried doing searches on this site for stuff? Sometimes you do find what you're looking for fairly easily, other times you can't find a damn thing that should be readily available. And if you're in panic mode because you think you just bricked your phone, are you going to search this entire site for an answer that might not show up in your search results? Hell no, you'd probably just create a new thread begging for help.
If you can't contribute and only talk down to people, shut your ass up. No one needs that type of attitude here.

I have to disagree.
First and foremost, give a man a fish... teach a man to fish...
The post you quote seems entirely accurate. The OP could obviously use more research as the answers are available. A little time with google alone will usually lead me to what I seek right here on xda.
I feel that the majority of xda contributors are more than willing to help if you show some indication that you have exhausted all your resources in finding your own solution. Though I do understand that moments of panic occur when nothing seems to work but it is always best as well as more satisfying to try and work through it yourself.
This forum does have a Q and A section that would be perfectly suited to handle this thread. The development section really isn't the place. You will get more welcome responses over there as that is its purpose.
Finally, as a member of this forum, I appreciate that of all the posts in this thread, yours (and suilmagic) were the only post that really did anything to help the OP.

I understand you point and I agree 100% people need to research their problems on a search engine (including the one we have here built in XDA (very handy)) because the majority of time, it will appear right onthe first page if you type your problem correctly, I agree with you. However, some users rather act in a certain way which would describe them as "assholes" if you cant contribute one way or the other why even post at all? if you dont know then theres no need to post unnecessary things. Just dont post and OP will get the picture and look somewhere else.

I agree with this as well though I hesitate at the name calling as it is also unproductive.
I miss the old days when we were all figuring it out together and questions turned to discussions. With the wealth of knowledge that has been built since then I guess some are not as willing to help others work through the problems. I do believe that if this thread had landed in Q&A it would have, or at least should have, received better response.
Well when I was new to this I thought I broke my brand new first day g2 because I got a boot loop (talk about panic mode xD) well I did my research and got it fixed thanks to me making a back up as soon as I flashed cwm...if anything it inspired me to get back at it...my advice back up your original shipping rom before you think about screwing around with stuff well now my g2 hinge is messed up extreamly loose so I'm returning it to stock :'( and sending it in....did I mention I'm 16? Be smartdont screw up

Update on HTC G2 Crashed and Bricked
I followed the instructions posted on this site to try and recover my G2 to no avail. After hours with an Android Developer the apparent issue was with the phone's internal memory.
I recieved a replacement and all is good. I've flashed a number of 2.3 roms in addition to roms that have Sense, flashed a kernel or two with no problems.
I hope I don't re create the same condition that started this post. I'm not sure what I did to cause the issue in the fisrt place.
Thanks to all the people out there who tried their best to help.

I see that we have a forum for the international version and the AT&T version. I just placed my order for the T-Mobile version and it will be here tomorrow. Now that the T-Mobile version is out... should we create a new forum for it?

Some sort of forum admin, I'm not sure who the main people are that take care of this thing. With it releasing tomorrow at stores, and packages already in the mail.. there is no reason for it not to be up now though.
T-Mobile GSII forum will be up tomorrow!
The issue of separate forums for all GSII variants came up. We decided to split them all, like we did with original GS, because the devices are different, and it'd get confusing having, for example, a massive ROM thread with ROMs for four different devices. So, yes, tomorrow we'll add the forum.
Everyone email admin for our forum!

bump.
I threw up a amazon store on the domain for now.. I'd rather be using it for more root/rom phone related stuff. if anyone has any suggestions or any devs wanting to put their roms on there let me know. Im a web designer so all you really have to do is provite the content. if you're interested pm me or have a better idea for it, let me know that too
another idea I had with it was a wordpress type blog with posts for each new rom, comments sections for each post and also a rating system for polls and each rom. by the time I would get all this started would it be pointless as theres already an LG G2 out?
I can't tell you what to do with it. I can tell you, though, I couldn't figure out for a while what that gibberish before the .com meant.
I also posted in the Q&A thread, however if I am correct more people check this section of the G Pro forum so I copied the link to my post here as well. Any help would be appreciated. The link to what I am looking for is below.

@rjmxtech I'd recommend Armpocket. In haven't found anything better to carry your phone while practicing sports.
They're a company from Miami if I'm not wrong. Just Google it. Also, they ship overseas if that's the case.
