Hi,
Currently running CM7 7.2.0 RC0 Kang R4. Just bought an MHL Adapter, and it didnt work with my rom. Tried flashing it back to Stock, and the adapter worked, so I know it's not the adapter. Did some research and apparently its a kernel issue.
Tried flashing Juggernaut 5.0, and it didnt work either.
So I know for sure these roms DONT work:
CM7 7.2.0 RC0 Kang R4
Juggernaut 5.0
Has anyone found a rom/kernel that does work with MHL?
Thanks in advance!
I know this sounds silly but you did plug your charger into the adapter right?

ITs based off cm7 which means it uses our cm7 so I assume you need to keep gps on in order to not get the call audio bug?
it doesn't say in the thread. I guess I'll bring it up in that thread instead.
no what kind of kernel shall we use to use this rom. so the orientations not off.

the bug is with the rom not kernel and since there is no source code released any rom based off slayher will have the call audio bug but keep the gps on and you are fine

Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA Premium App

Does anyone know if aokp for t989 supports mhl, otg and bln?

Otg is USB on the go; if a rom supports it you can plug a USB flash drive into your phone and your phone can read it, provided that you have the correct cable. Yes, mhl is hdmi out

do you just nandroid your DD as well as your 'play ROM's' then swap back and forth as needed?....doing a nandroid in between? thinking about trying this so i can experiment with some of the new ICS ROM's while keeping Juggernaut5 which works great for me.

Ya but between each flash i do a complete wipe. I have a stock, dd, and play ROM. Course i have a 32 gb and have a few more, miui, aokp, and an ics. I'm not too sure how stable this could be on the phone but ya every time i change over i do a full wipe.

when it's working 100% then Aokp is arguably the best ROM available.. I tried and loved the most recent update and everything worked great except the volume on it was extremely low and I couldn't make it loud enough to hear phone calls or notifications.. other than that... I totally fell in love with it..
I decided to revert to my previous rom until a new update is released ( anxiously waiting )

I searched far and wide and have not found an answer to this question, even though it has been asked before. Why doesn't HDMI out work on JB 4.2 ROMS for our device? I hope that this feature will be working after source drops...streaming from our phone to a TV is amazing. I also love custom ROMS as well.....
HDMI out does work on the GB08 and GB27 TouchWiz roms. If you haven't tried GB27 you really should check it out. Everything works properly right from the start.

Yep thanks for the reply. I have been on rooted GB 27 TBSGSIII and love it. I also really enjoy the AOSP/ AOKP Roms as well. The only thing missing on them is the HDMI out....

Because it isn't available in the AOSP source code. Just because we can have the kernel side support doesn't mean it'll work. We need the ROM to support it as well, but Samsung's code isn't open source.

Hey,
Sorry if it is a question that had been asked a lot, but I tried couple of jb 4.2based ROMS and the HDMI doesn't seem to work on any of them.
Is it something that sony keeps only for the stock ROM? Or is there some fix to bypass the problem?
And.. If there is no fix right now, is there going to be one?
Thanks in advance.

well, i still didn't find a rom that isn't based on stock, and actually reacts when i plug the hdmi cable.
the only reaction i got is reboot in some roms.
i did not find one. and i have searched.
now, what i really want, is a rom that is not a stock one, but still hes the hdmi.
does such a thing exist? anyone using one?
