Do it the RUU way, doesn't kill your warranty and is as easy as taking a dump

I don't quite understand. If i do it the RUU way, doesn't that mean i won't be able to update via OTA anymore, will i?
Yes you will, it just means you jump this OTA
And you'll also wipe the phone but at least you'll be up-to-date
How I know which ruu I need?

Look in the android development section of the one x forum. There is a stickied post with all the RUUs in.

Looks like I got a defect one x.. ht23

hey everyone.. but a HTC ONE X international off a private seller, and with my luck its a ht23.. the only real problems I've experienced with it is flickering screen and a dead pixel.
my one question is will replacing the lcd screen fix the problems?
sorry if this has been posted before. I've looked and really havent seen an answer
Well, it'll fix the dead.pixel, unless the new screen has a dead/stick pixel
Flicker was fixed with 1.29.401.11, although it didn't affect all devices.
How would I go about checking what version I have??
Thanks for the help! I p.s I'm a noob

Phone HTC and send it for warranty repair
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I'm currently using the latest alpha of cm10 the build numbers are very different then the example you posted
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Can I do that with an international version of the phone?? I I'm currently located in Canada as well
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
What benpope posted was the stock version number of the ROM. Since you are running a custom ROM, of course all the software versions would be different. Perhaps you should bring it back to stock since CM10 is still in alpha stage. And most likely you would need to put it back to its stock status if you were to send it to HTC for repairs.

I have an HT23 bought in Canada and no problem with it so far...
did you try a LCD revival software, sometime on new LCD this can be fixed search the market...
HTC should help, if not you can claim warranty from the seller since in Canada we have seller obligation to a legal warranty EVEN with an unlocked bootloader...
I also wonder why you installed another rom and unlocked it if you had a bad pixel, but you may have a bad vision as well (Just Joking...)
Haha I just may. I bought it off a private seller. So it was rooted when I got it. It's not a big deal to me anymore. I found a great price for a new lcd and digitizer and may just fix it myself.
Thank you all for your help

[Help]Sending my HOX to htc for repair

Well i am experiencing abnormal behaviour on my HOX....the network only show for 5 sec and then goes off....then again after sometime the signals come but again for 5 sec....so short story i want to send my hox to htc for repair...but the bootloader is unlocked...the phone is rooted and is running a custom rom...what should i do to make it look completely like stock....how do i relock my bootloader?? And which stock ruu should i flash..and after doing all this, will htc would know that my phone was ever rooted or the bootloader was unlocked.... Thanks..
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
I'm pretty sure you can't "relock" your bootloader, HTC keep records of which phones have been unlocked through htcdev.com so even if you do manage to go back to stock, they will still know that it has been unlocked at some point.
You can relock your bootloader, but it will say relocked so htc will know about it. Are you sure its hardware fault though? Have you tried flashing another ROM/kernel?

default if the phone itself will be fixed
I tried different roms and radios but no luck...it looks like my $600 phone will be turned into a high end android media device....any suggestions???? Is it worth to tell htc that my phone is unlocked and then ask what they can do to help me???

Sup guys/gals, this is my first issue with hardware or build quality today I noticed my screen rocks side to side mainly when pressing the top 2 corners of the device I just updated arhd 9.4.0 with st and noticed a price drop on mc3 so I played that for 30min the device become extremely hot then I noticed the screen issue. I would like to hear if you've had this issue and how you got it fixed was it covered under warranty even with bootloader relocked? btw I'm on three UK

That is clearly a hardware / manufacturing defect, so they will most probably fix it despite the unlocked bootloader. But like the poster above me said, relock the bootloader and flash the correct RUU before taking it back.
Lol definitely shouldn't move I think gameloft killed my screen as I've never noticed any problem before I'm more worried about three saying I must cover the costs as they've tried several times with my n96, n97, x10i but I stood my ground and got all of these phones for free in one contract at no extra cost I'm guessing it wont be as smooth when they see bootloader relocked

It seems only HTC one x+ is supported on HTC sense.com

That's in Hong Kong, any other place could have one x work on sense.com? Considered I'm still waiting for 4.1. Now I really want to say f**k HTC.
