Hey guys.
This is my first post here, so i apologize if i put this thread at the wrong place..
Anyway.. I Recently flashed the official ICS Beta ROM to my phone..
And now i want to go back to the original 2.3.4 firmware... BUT...
Then i realized that i forgot to backup the old files..
So here is the thing. To be able to replace software i flashed the new files boot.img and userdata.img from the package from Sony...
Can anyone help me getting those two files back so that i can go back to original software?
Just find the FTF file for the 2.3.4 firmware that you need, then flash it in Flashtool
If you need the firmware check my signature.

I feel helpless now, sorry ahead of time if someone instantly redirects me to a section of the website. I've been searching forums for almost 5 hours now and have gotten nowhere. I sent my phone in to get the brick fixed and had him root it at the same time... I'm running 2.3.4 kernel version 2.6.35.7 gb.eh17? So i'm assuming this is a stock rom? I have no cwm for my phone, i haven't been able to flash it or install it whatsoever, I get failed signature everytime. Now I understand that 2e as opposed to 3e (which I have) allows unsigned files to be installed, but I haven't been able to find a way to revert back to that.. There's kernels that I can download that come with cwm but those have root files in them too.. will this mess anything up? could I flash a kernel to my phone with the root files and in turn have cwm working? how do I know what kernels will work for my phone and firmware version specifically? I just want to do cool things to my phone now! I'm feeling i've wasted money to have it rooted since I can't do a damn thing with it right now.. SORRY for the long post, it's been 5 hours of running in circles and i'm quite frustrated. Any help at all is very much appreciated!!!
Lots of questions. First of all you can't flash anything in stock recovery not put out by Sprint or Samsung. Next you will need to use Odin to install CWM since no one click version works with GB. EH17 is a leaked ROM not official. Official version of GB is EI22. You can Odin in an EC05 ROM prerooted and then flash a EI22 prerooted ROM then if you want to change the modem flash the EC05toEI22 modem file. Here are some threads to help you:
Odin and how to use it:

EC05plus ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061912&highlight=ec05plus
Modems:

This method you will lose all data so make sure your contacts are on Google and not the phone. Or export your contacts to the sd card.
thanks!! the links are broken but I believe I know where to go with this now, all I have to do is install a new rom/cwm via odin? which will just replace my stock "rom" I guess. I've been scared to even think about that considering that's how I bricked it the first time. Thanks for your time!
Which links are broken? If you are able to get into download mode it is never bricked.

Could some kind person possibly back up and upload their stock rooted Rogers ROM and the CIQ-free rogers kernel in a CWM flashable format? I'm having some issues with a custom ROM, and I don't actually own a Windows PC to use ODIN to flash back to the the rooted rogers rom in the 'How to root your captivate glide' thread, so I'd really like to be able to use CWM to get back to stock to see if the issue is my phone, my kernel, or the rom.
Edit: I tried Heimdall, but it just constantly 'Fails to initialise protocol!' on me, so that's a no go.

i second this request, im fortunate to have odin to flash the rooted stock rom CarpeNoctum provided but a CWM-Recovery version so we can do this on the fly
Hey fellas just moved to this section from the Inc s since I sold that phone and what a nice phone it was.So I got the Samsung glide and thanks to all the people here I rooted and installed the cwm and now I am ready to get my hands on a nice custom rom.
So now I am gonna backup my Rogers Samsung glide and upload it somewhere for the peeps above who where requesting it.
So keep an eye om this post for the download links.
Ok so I backed up my stock rooted rom and there is more than on file in there so someone tell me if I should upload all of them or just certain ones.
And also where is better to upload files by the way cause I have not done it in a while.
Cheers!
Edit:
Here is a link to my backed up stock rooted Rogers 2.3.5 rom.

Hello XDA,
so my Galaxy Nexus's USB port just died and I need to RMA. I'm on CM10.1 M3 so I need to lock the bootloader and flash the stock ROM. As I'm rooted there will be no problem to lock the bootloader before flash using BootUnlocker, but then I have no idea how to flash the stock ROM. I was thinking about flashing it using Mobile Odin, which uses .tar files, but I can't find any...
Thanks in advance.
As I got no response I continued searching...
I downloaded the official JDQ39 factory image from here and there are these files in it:
- .zip with stock ROM
- .img with modem
- .img with bootloader
My modem and bootloader are stock and the .zip file includes recovery. So I thought maybe I could install ROM Manager, install TWRP through which I would flash this .zip and that would overwrite my CM ROM and TWRP recovery to stock.
Is this possible or did I just make this up?
So I realised that the method in my second post wouldn't work because those files are only meant for fastboot ADB.
I continued my search for Mobile ODIN flashable stock files, but I only found few for CDMA version of Galaxy Nexus. I have a GSM version.
I have only found this Chainfire's old thread with broken links for 4.0.2 GSM ODIN files and this guide which also has dead links to GSM files.
I'm getting desperate. Can anybody send me in the right direction?

Might want to reach Chainfire on those Odin images. Have you tried searching for the exact filenames on Google and then comparing hashes?

Hi!
I had the same problems that you have now.
What I did was to make e restore from cwr with any backup that is stock. You can find them here at xda. After you can lock again the bootloader. But I'm not sure if I had to lock the boatload first and after run the recovery process. I had cwr installed when I send the GN for repair. I had stock rom, locked bootloader, cwr installed. And everything was ok. After a week I received the GN fixed for free.

Problem solved. I'm saved!
I found this flashable 4.1 ROM .zip from Koush aaaand that's it! All I did was that I used BootUnlocker then flashed this 4.1's radio through CWM and at last the ROM itself which also overwritten CWM with stock recovery. And now... I'm all STOCK and can send the phone to RMA.
Nandroid backup through CWM is also a good idea, but it still leaves you CWM. Not 100% clean.
Hope this helps someone.

if you were running ics or newer you will have to cwm flash nardrom inception or another gingerbread based rom before you can use odin to revert back to stock.
thanks for the reply yohan4ws! so its not possible to flash ics via odin ? i was on stock ics, ran into some trouble and needed to flash.. samfirmware gives us a tar.md5 so cant flash it in cwm..
Ok, maybe I'm misunderstanding something... when you said "Stock" I assumed it was the Gingerbread that the phone came with .. as well, ICS was NEVER released by Rogers, only AT&T. So, If you were running AT&T, you were not running Rogers "stock" rom.
If you want to revert back to ICS 4.04 "stock" goto www.samfirmware.com, sign up , download the AT&T ICS and flash it to your phone with Odin.
This has been covered many many many many MANY times and a simple search would have sufficed instead of waiting a month for a reply.
I suppose I should know this, but I don't
I had root with 4.1.2, and updated to 4.2.2 leaked FW - I knew I would loose root, but I thought I could re-root but that does not seem to be the case. Is this so?
If I want to go back to 4.1.2, how do I do this becauseI don't seem to be able to get into TWRP recovery. I thought this was supposed to stay on after upgrading?
why dont u just flash stock 4.1.2 rom via odin for revert?
Good idea, thanks. I was just thinking that myself. Getting the file from sammobile (uk version)
Will it be obvious where each file should go in Odin, will there be three files to select (pda, csc and modem, or just PDA?)
Are there any instructions on XDA?
EDIT
I managed to do it, got into a boot loop though, but was able to restore
