[Q] Special caracters in french glitch after root - HTC One X

Hi, on an unbranded One X, i did the HTCDev + Recovery + SuperSU method . After reboot i installed the update.
The phone is now unlocked and rooted, running 1.29.401.7.
Problem is, since then some accents aren't properly recognized. Attached i put 3 screen shot :
1 - i type "Etre", "Être" (the correct spelling) is suggested
2 - i tap "Être", the suggestions close but the word isn't replaced
3 - the word is still recognized as incorrect
If i directly type an "Ê" an "E" appears in it's place.
The problem didn't appear before the unlock and root, in 1.28 or 1.29. The problem doesn't affect all accentuated caracters, "È" and "É" for instance are ok.
Does anyone have a similar issue?

the same for me!

Could someone please provide me with SX56 unlock code?

I am sure this bit of the question has been asked before so perhaps someone could cut and paste the procedure but I need to unlock this SX56 AT&T phone because I use T-Mobile AND travel abroad quite a lot.
The IMEI number is 350314000995655
(I couldn't find the SX56 model number or the correct ROM code or the Radio number in your pop-down menu so I entered it on the next line)
Unlock procedure
Sorry for last postingjavascript:emoticon('')
Embarassed: Siemens told me that I need an IMEI Number and that AT&T would provide me with an unlock code for this unit with that IMEI number (which obviously they won't)javascript:emoticon('')
Evil or Very Mad
Is the procedure (for my unit) to ask for an unlock code and then enter it or is it to download
* SD Card Reader
* 1x64Mb+ SD card
* XDATools
* XDA-Developers Special Edition ROM 1.2
1. Backup the existing bootloader and operating system using card reader
2. Extract the XDA-Developers Special Edition ROM 1.2 using Winzip
3. Write the NK.nbf-file (in the directory English) to your Device
4. Running the Programs -> Phone -> XDAUnlock file will remove the SIMlock...
5. after this time, the original ROM could be restored as desired.
And if I need to, can I do all this with Infra Red and sync or with the cradle which connects it to the computer? I cant find any reference to my ROM or Radio numbers in the pull down menu here and am a bit confused by this.javascript:emoticon(':?')
Confused
No, flashing the ROM will not unlock your device. Search for the wallaby unlocker, or check the wiki, as it is there, sticky and has been mentioned before.
Completing unlock process and flashing
I was directed to the flash upgrade program to unlock the device at the XDA-Wallaby Home Page and did flash but nowhere was I given the option to unlock: However the flashing process failed in an unusual and probably not important way: It completed successfully but I have lost the stylus and couldnt figure out how to stop the battery by pushing a fine screwdriver into the hole shown on the host computer screen. All that now shows on the screen is COMPLETED and a number of close-together vertical lines at the far right quarter inch of the screen.
Is there some trick to turning the battery off with some special tool or have I in fact completed the procedure and simply don't know that I have or what to do next? (get to a screen where I can run the XDAUnlock program which I transferred over to the SX56 before flashing the ROM?)
I wonder if I should or need to take the battery off if I Have lost that tool which does this by pushing into the hole on the lower quarter of the unit?
A bit of self-help going on here
So I DO appear to have flashed the ROM and the XDA ROM now appears on the screen although with no real backlight: The DO YOU WANT TO UNLOCK also appears but when YES is pressed, nothing happens. In fact one can see the unit taking the command but nothing further happens and the question just hangs on the screen.
Is this unlocking a command which takes a long time to execute? Or should I cancel out of it and carry on with bringing up the screen and can I execute it later on? Or have I done something major wrong and is there any way of rectifying? Sometimes if I press YES hard enough, the backlight appears for a half second (and the YES command pulsates once) and then goes off. But the question about unlocking still hangs on the screen.
Is this something to do with the program not being able to unlock an AT&T lock? Or has the screen lost sensitivity in some way and if so, (last resource here, improbably necessary) is there a source for Wallaby screens?
FOr the benefit of anyone trying this
NOTE:
After a night of the YES command taking and then not doing anything, I tried MOVING the over-screen by trying to drag it to another position
This didnt work. BUT tapping on the blue bar resulted in a message telling me that the unit was now unlocked. And the 7-8 black vertical lines to the right of the screen now have reduced to one, a quarter of an inch in
(Mind you, tapping on the ok button on THAT screen still mysteriously does nothing. This is a ROM which works in a VERY interesting, unusual and unexpected way!!)
new problem - report of invalid sim
now i am having another problem and am not sure i shoudn't start another thread
'
I did repalce the screen and the unit now starts up and reports invalid sim.
Is there any solution or should I re-flash the rom again and see if that works, hope for the best?

I found the same happened to me first time and a soft reset did the trick. It may also be that the "Hard Reset" will be needed. I seem to recall that this was what I had to do with a couple of them. If your stylus is missing, a push pin and a bit of control will do. Just shove it in the micro hole at the bottom left of the device and hold it for a few seconds then let it go. If it does not restart on its own, follow that with a "soft reset" by pressing the point of the stylus (or a ball point pen) into the larger hole at the bottom left of the unit.
For the upgrade/unlock rom . . . the best one to which I have access is at:

HTC Diamond ROM Updating problem - ERROR [294]: INVALID VENDOR ID

Hi, tried to use search and found a lot of information about that problem, but non of them solved my problem.
So, i have HTC Diamond (P3700) (ROM: 1.93.479.3.WWE, Radio: 1.00.25.05, Protocol: 52.29.25.12H, S/N: HT841GN13099)
Tried download latest ROM version from official website (http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=133&cat=2&dl_id=483), but when i wrote my S/N i got error message - Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device.
If i'll trying to download earlier ROM version (http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=133&cat=2&dl_id=2) with the same S/N I haven't any problem (of course and can install it).
Also I tried to download all ROM version from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471699, but when installing these ROM I always get an error - ERROR[294] : INVALID VENDER ID
In other thread I found link to http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeProblems#problem3, but when I was falling all instructions I get an error again (but now problem was with connection)
Also I wrote a letter to HTC support twice, but I didin't get any response
So maybe I can find somewhere S/N decoder to know more information about my phone (for e.gd phone was locked, or belonged to other operator?) and why I have problem when updating to the latest ROM version. Does anybody can suggest other solution to this problem?
You are unable to download the official rom from htc as your phone obviously was supplied by an operater who has put their own rom on it.
You need to proceed with a Hard-SPL if you wish to change ROM.
It sounds like you have an operater ROM so it's blocking your changing of the ROM to anything non-operater.
Read the wiki section for the Diamond here , especially the section : Upgrading / cooking / flashing.
with this section that clearly explains all you need to know about applying a Hard-SPL : Diamond Hard-SPL

Thanks for your advices.
When I bought that phone seller didn't mention that this phone belongs to some operator. So is it possible to get information to witch operator it belongs (phone doesn't have any operator brands on his self, and isn't any special application or images in it).
And one more time... is it realy possible that phone belongs to operator... because like I wrote before that i can download and install earlier ROM from official web site, but problem is only with the latest ROM.
Perhaps the download doesn't work as many people had problems installing the latest rom ? It would reboot into the bootscreen & block.
Maybe they have the download until they know why it screws up (but works perfect via an internal flash).
Dunno though, as it's weird you getting the 'operater' message.
Anyway, you can get the latest official rom in here, so you'll be able to flash your device.
Here's the thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471699
Just flash it from the internal storage. Works fine. Extract the setup with winrar or something, then you will see 2 files - one approx 140Mb, the other one like 2Mb. Rename the big one to Diamimg.nbh and copy it to your internal storage.
* Soft Reset + Hold volume down button + back button <----
* Follow instructions on screen

Read here where it says "stops at 5% or invalid model id:

Next think about HardSPL.
1.93.479.3 if you had this rom in your device, and you tried to download from HTC Support site and get the "This is rom isnt for your device" you get this because there are NO 2.03.479.3 rom the BOLD tells you what region rom u are using. And If you download another rom and try to flash and get "invalid vendor" you MUST hard-spl your device, after that you can flash every rom you can find an example of region rom, I have put this at least 4 times now so people try o understand what i meen when speaking of region roms.

Thanks everyone for advices!
First i tried Kevbodian recommended method. Downloaded OliPro's NBH Util and tried rebuild NBH file, but program generates only empty file (0Kb - size), maybe it doesn't work in Windows 7 So I'm fail.
Then tried laser21 method and succeed! I downloaded Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2312363&postcount=2), installed them, and made everything step by step like he wrote.
Phone works seams fine, but maybe a little bit slower , so I'm tried reinstall ROM one more time, but do that in standard way. Just downloaded _RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471699) and ran it. Everything was fine (installation pass 100%) but than it shows - ERROR [270] - UPDATE ERROR, phone also restarted and shows information in red/green/blue/white background.
In red space
Code:
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
In green space
Code:
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x32
Upgrade ROM code error
Place try again
So one more time I made like laser21 recommended - and phone works again. But can I do something more that latter update i can do in standard way ?

But...If you are upgrading the ROM or Radio please use this highly recommend way.
1. open from your PC the rar or zip archive and extract only the .nbh file
2. rename as DIAMIMG.NBH
3. copy the renamed file into the root dir of your "Storage Card" or "Internal Storage" (the one of 4Gb... NOT to the internal phone memory!)
4. soft reset your device and within 3 seconds push together the Vol_Down + Back button (the one on the right above the hangup button) and keep pressed until the boot loader appears (the one with the color stripes)
5. soon as you see the bootloader stop to press those poor buttons
6. a very simple gray menu will appear asking you what to do, simple press the power button to perform the ROM/Radio upgrade
7. while the upgrade runs be patient and don't press again the power button, reset the device or play with it until it finishes, when finished a message "UPDATE SUCCESS" will appear, now you can safely reset your device
8. who prefer can perform a hard reset after the fresh cook (soon after reset simply press Vol_Down + Circle button, then when you see another simple gray menu choose Vol_Up to confirm format), even if this has no-sense because internal memory is pre-formatted during flash, but... there is always a but... for some unknown "scientific" reason sometimes an hard-reset can save time & headache

So why now I can't update ROM in standard way, maybe is solution to fix that problem ?

[PROBLEM] Screens self scrolling without touching

hi,
I've got a problem with a brand new updated (by phone update menu) to 1.12.405.2 htc desire. The problem appears after waking up and unblocking the screen. After that the screens start to scroll without touching them in both directions (maybe more to the left, doesn't matter). The issue appears not always, but after some long time without using the phone (today after almost whole day) and stops after covering the optical trackpad (almost always).
I've tried to:
- clean the trackpad
- clean the screen
- reboot
- taking the battery and sim/microSD cards out
- deleting microSD card
- many times HR (both from phone menu and using the buttons)
Now I plan to flash it with RUU_BRAVO_HTC_WWE_1.12.405.2....signed.exe
You think it's hardware or software related? Did you encounter such an issue?
Thanks in advance! Cheers!
flashing with the exe file didn't help
EDIT------
i did:
- r6 riskfree root
- roll back to ROM 1.15...
- downgrade HBOOT to 0.75
- once again new ROM 1.21... both through RUU_...exe and PB99IMG.zip / unroot
nothing has changed - goes to service

[SOLVED] HTC Desire SLCD Screen Black After Flashing Stock Rom

OK, so I have found a few guides that try to resolve this, but as yet nothing that completely got me where I need to be.
The background:
I have a UK T-mobile HTC Desire (Bravo) with HBOOT 0.93.0001, with an SLCD screen, with the latest OTA updates and now running MIUI ROM 1.5.13.
The problem:
Condensation under the screen meant that I needed to send back under warranty. To do this I needed to restore my phone to stock T-Mobile ROM.
I got hold of a stock T-Mobile RUU (available at Shipped Roms), tried to run this but got an error as the version of my current ROM and HBOOT was newer than what I was trying to put on the phone.
I did a bit more digging and realised that I was doing a few things wrong, did not have goldcard and realised that because I was on HBOOT 0.93 this would not work. Therefore I needed to downgrade HBOOT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256). This guide will put an unbranded RUU on the phone if followed completely, but obviously I needed a T-mo branded version and so used the RUU mentioned above.
This would prove to be my mistake.
This updated my phone to HBOOT 0.80 which unfortunately does not play nice with the SLCD screen.
Net result: my phone turned on (could feel the vibration when turning phone on).
Here is how I solved it....
The disclaimer:
This worked for me, it may not work for you ... etc etc .. I'm not responsible, etc etc.
OK, so to recap - I had:
- Created a gold card (TIP: always create a gold card by accessing your microSD in your phone over USB, I tried it in a card reader and it does not work properly)
- Downgraded to HBOOT 0.80 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256)
- Ran a T-Mobile Stock RUU (available at Shipped Roms)
The next steps:
- Go and get the latest T-Mobile OTA update (again, from Shipped Roms)
- Get your gold card (or create if required. Remember this must be done with the SD card in a phone, can be a different phone but must be your goldcard image)
- Rename the OTA update to update.zip and copy to root of SD card
You know need to boot in to recovery and run update.zip. All of this will be without the screen, so you need to follow the exact steps and make sure you wait where told - wait longer if in any doubt
- turn the phone off (battery out is sure fire way)
- Hold volume down (and keep held), press and release power whilst keeping volume held down (3-4 seconds)
- Now in HBOOT menu
- Wait 20 seconds
- Volume down * 1, press power button (phone go in to recovery)
- Wait for 30 seconds (reading SD card)
- Hold volume up and press power (go in to Android system recovery)
- Volume down *1, press power button (select "Apply sdcard:update.zip")
- Wait for 15 minutes (the update.zip on SD card is being read and applied)
- Press power *1 to reboot system
- After reboot you must wait a while and then you will see some green graphics on the screen... just wait it out
- You should then see the little pink circle and you can be happy
You will need to change language as the phone starts in German or Turkish, once done you will need to reboot to get everything completely back to English (some things such as vmail seemed to stick until reboot)
I hope this helps for anyone that was also terrified that they had broken their phone!!
There are also several methods for getting the phone in to USB debugging as it allows you to do much more with the phone and has some of it's own options to get you out of this mess. Obviously this requires going blind, these are the steps I went through:
- Turn off phone
- Turn on phone
- Wait until fully booted
- Press power and slide finger down to unlock
- Press and hold finger on screen until vibrate to verify you unlocked the screen
- Press back
- Menu
- Right 3 times, Down 1, click (Settings menu)
- Up *15 (to get to top of menu), down *10, click (Applications menu)
- Down * 3, click (Development menu)
- Click (USB debugging)
- Click (Confirm)
Hope this helps all!!
Cheers,
Pete
have the same issue with my htc desire but the problem is i have a usb brick so can't create a gold card.any help?
Hello!
Thanks for your guide. But for me it was a little different.
About my phone: HTC Desire with SLCD and T-Mobile Branding. S-Off via Alpharev
Preparing: Made a Goldcard out of my SD-Card with only one partition
Step 1: Downgrade HBOOT to original version (bravo_downgrade.img). Only necessary if you installed a Alpharev HBOOT.
Step 2: Downgrade the phone to Android 2.1 like here
Step 3: Install T-Mobile RUU. I used "RUU_Bravo_Froyo_TMO_AT_2.12.112.1_Radio_32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2_release_143754_signed.exe", you can find it at shipped-roms.com.
Result: No Black Screen, Downgraded Phone with original T-Mobile ROM.
I had problems with the RUU. So I started the RUU and found in the Temp-Folder the rom.zip. I renamed it to PB99IMG.zip, copied it on the SD and installed the rom in the Bootloader.
Cheers

[Q] HTC Wildfire stuck in bootloader screen

Hi folks, I really hope you can help with this problem with my HTC Wildfire. The phone came into contact with water and as a result is now stuck in the bootloader screen. (I am advised by the three mobile reps that the red tabs in the back of the phone indicate that water has been present and that if these are not white then the warranty is void)
I am unable to select any of the menu options that are displayed as the volume up and down key have no effect when on this screen. I do know that the keys do however work as when I press the down volume key and the on key the phone attempts to boot from the SD card (with no success as it goes through a series of messages which read image not found)
Can anyone help me get the phone working again?
I have at my disposal: a laptop, data cable, sd card and reader/writer and another working HTC Wildfire phone which was purchased at the same time so has the same 2.1 Android OS version as mine had. (if this helps)
I would be really grateful for assistance and I'm sure that others would benefit from answers to this problem too.
Cheers Ben
