Various Issues after flashing ROM - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had Oxygen Rom installed and thought that I would try a newer Rom. I downloaded MIUI Buzz Beta 4 and put on the Root of the SD Card booted into recovery and wiped the dalvik cache and installed the ROM.
I now can get the WIFI to turn on, and im getting android.process.acore F/C, Calender Storage Process F/C and setting F/C. I have messaged the Developer of the ROM and they have comfirmed that the WIFI works.
if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.

You need to wipe all data when you change rom, not only dalvik cache

I ended up reverting back to a stock ROM and re-rooting to get everything back up and running. Thanks

Help! Bootloop!

Ive just rooted, installed the lastest radio and installed the latest CM 6.1.1
After i rebooted phone it is now stuck in bootloop
Help?
Desire SLCD On telus if that matters.
Oh and i cant go back into Recovery. I can go into Hboot
check your reply on android forums
Restore the nandroid you made before flashing, or do a full wipe (in clockworkmod: data/factoryreset, cache and dalvik cache under advanced) and reflash the rom.

[Q] Why do I keep getting cache errors and bootloops??

I have been running CM7 RC1 for a few weeks now with no issues. I have no special apps or anything besides the basics (titanium backup, setcpu, and CWM).
I ran into this issue about a week ago when I tried to flash my stock rom when I was running Gingervillian 1.5. I was getting:
E: Can't open cache/recovery/command
when I tried to flash back from stock Froyo ROM to Gingervillian and I figured it was because I used CWM 3.x.x and not CWM 2.x.x to flash from a Gingerbread ROM to a Froyo ROM...
However, since then, I installed a clean CM 7 RC1 ROM and have been fine. Then all of a sudden today, the phone locked up and I had to pull the battery and then it ran fine for a few hours and did it again. So, when I got home, I flashed a recovery from 2 days ago that was running fine and I got the cache error and then bootloops again.
WTF is going on?
The ONLY thing that changed between my recovery image from Mar 11 to now was my wife downloaded Soduko from the market, and I made a SetCPU profile for when the phone is charging. Other than that, nothing changed.
I was able to get it working...I am not sure what I did that made it work but this is what I did.
Format /cache (originally gave me the cache error)
Format /data (originally gave me the cache error as well)
Format /davlik cache
Reboot recovery
Downloaded another CWM 3.0.0.5 .img file and copied it to sd card (was going to try to flash new CWM to see if it would help).
Then I tried to Format /data again and it worked, so I tried format /cache and it worked.
Then I tried my recovery and it worked as well. So, it is working, but I think I may flash CMW 2.x.x and go back to CM 6.1 since it is stable. I know everyone says CM 7 RC1 is pretty stable as well, and I reallllly don't want to go back to Froyo...I don't want to keep having problems like this.
happened again tonight. Phone froze after running completely fine. I pull battery and try to reboot and get stuck at HTC screen. Go into recovery and get the same cache errors.
I tried formating data, cache and davlik cache and nothing is working. Is there something I am doing wrong, or something I can do to keep this from happening?
You need Clockwork mod recovery app from market. 3.0.0.5 is official and goes between froyo n cm7 without problems. Try that
meXdroid Ghost Chilli
I have the latest CWM and I wasn't trying to flash a new ROM tonight, or last time either. The phone just froze and then started with the cache errors.
...anyone?

CM7.2 - Reboot on GPS Lock after all GPS Fix methods

Alright after all what I have done, I am still getting reboots when I open Google Maps and GPS is just about to lock to a location.
Things I have done:
1. Start from scratch - Format and wipe /system, /data, /cache, /sdcard, /sd-ext, delvick cache, run Caulkin's Format ALL, again wiped everything above, and last did VR_SUPERWIPE.zip
2. Flashed STOCK Sense Rom 4.67.651.3 (new ota update)[ROM] and rebooted into Stock Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1455340
3. Used MSL Reader + ##GPSCLRX# (##4772579#) method. Updated PRL while in SENSE Rom, and everything under settings > about phone > updates
4. Repeated Step 1
5. Flashed CM7.2 supersonic
6. Used Titanium backup to install only apk files for applications, not data files. Nothing from system was restored.
7. Did the Google Play updates to all apps, rebooted, Did more updates.
8. No task killers were installed, only major change is I went from ADW Launcher to GO Launcher EX.
Now I open the maps, I am on 3G speeds, maps load up, but within 5 seconds the GPS Locks, and booom Reboot.
Sometimes after the reboot, while in the middle of the CM7 boot animation, it will reboot again.
Only way to get everything back to stable is to wipe delivk cache again.
Extra steps taken:
Method 1 - Failed
1. Wipe Delvik cache
2. Flash Qualcomm Vision GPS Driver v1.1 (Flash 3.zip)
Method 2 - Failed
1. Wipe Delvik cache
2. Flash GPS_Supersonic_FIX_Flash2.zip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14534313&postcount=2478

Have u attempted using another aosp rom like reloaded to see if the problem lies in cm7.2. I can verify that gps is flawless with reloaded.
Also, switch to amonra or smelkus recovery. Clockwork always causes problems

how would flashing another recovery resolve issues at this point of time?
Whats the latest AMONRA version?

It wont fix anything. It will eliminate a bad flash/wipe from possible problems. Just do the sense ##gpsclrx# and flash to a different aosp like decks or reloaded and see if the problem persists.
still having issues
So I have been through most AOSP roms lately.. And I am still stuck on the reboot when I load up maps. Now though its getting worst.
Maps works for may be 10 seconds, get a good lock, but then within 10 seconds it reboots. Then gets stuck in a boot loop, until the battery is burning hot.
Another issue is now I get random reboots even while surfing the internet, loading and restoring from Go Backup / Titanium. All Google Inc apps are always fresh from Play store though. Since I moved to AmonRA and then TWRP, it didn't help what so ever. So finally I moved to RA-supersonic-v4.3-smelkus. I replaced my Samsung 32gb class 10 card with what came with the phone which was Sandisk 16gb class 4, but same issue. BTW, I always used 1gb of ex3 partition for A2SD when I loaded up any of the roms like MIUI, CM7.2, CM7.1, most any of the ICS beta's posted in the past month, and finally also tested Revolver, and the latest Deck's Reloaded GB2.3.5 with Mason G d15rc3 kernal. I found Saveged Zen to be no good with any of the roms, nor did I find Tiamat any help.
Now I am with RA 4.3 smelkus recovery, and Deck's latest rom with Mason Gd15 kernal, and the GPS Flash 3 zip. Still issues
I have been trying to produce logcat's but, the reboots are not letting me save anything before the dump to file happens.
try a sense rom and see if you are still having issues. I have run CIUI and GTR twinturbo, which are both cm7.2 based and have NO gps issues after flashing the GPS supersonic flash3.zip
Try unrooting and see if you have the same issue, it could be a hardware issue you could get replaced with sprint. Otherwise re root and try again.

[Q] Stuck on boot after flash

I have:
*** UNLOCKED *** (I unlocked device through official htc/bootloader)
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.57.39.10M
I would like to flash WildJOY_Wildfire S_1.2.1 rom with theme iOS based on CG 7.2 RC 3.0.
I was rooting device by walkthrough on this website. I have latest CWO for GSM HTC Wildfire S device, 5.028.
When I come to recovery, I have blackscreen, I am using droidAtScren (Java program to controle what I am doing), I found this on youtube like solution/fix for problems of black screen in recovery on wildfire s. Another recovery TWRP doesn't work stuck on HTC logo when I trying boot into throughout HBOOT. All recoveries installed throughout fastboot.
"Only this things could something break. I installed GooManager+recovery without root cause I don't known what I have to make first. Also I was trying WFM Manager by Eoghan2t7 to root cause any recovery doesn't work for me until I found this fix with droidAtScren." Finally I rooted my phone with CWO and root.zip.
FLASHING:
Firstly, I wiped data, cache, Dalvik, system, then flashed kernel_gpu_tweaked (zip in thread of WildJOY, By mi info it is kernel from CG 7.2 RC 3.0), then flashed WildJOY rom, then gapps-gb-20110828-signed and rebooted.
Secondly, I wiped data, cache, Dalvik, system, then flashed WildJOY rom, then gapps-gb-20110828-signed and rebooted.
After that I fast booted boot from WildJOY rom (through fastboot).
Nothing. I tried wape cache and Dalvik. Still no progress.
Nothing solved my problem. I am stuck now on boot screen with htc logo.
Can you please help me?

[Q] Advanced Restore causes Settings-Security in SlimBean to crash

OK, probably something silly I am not aware of so I hope it does not turn out to be.
Device HTC One X International.
CWM : v5.8.4.0
HBoot : 1.36.0000
So I have just changed my ROM from Cyanogen Mod 10.1.3 to SlimBean build 2.2 of Slim Bean 4.3.1. I have jumped from few ROMs over the past year without any issue apart from the know ones.
Anyway I did a backup of the Cyanogen 10.1.3 I was using, reset the data, wiped the cache and Dalvik and installed SlimBean.
The issue I am having is when I advanced restore the data from my previous Cyanogen ROM backup like I have done with each ROM change to keep apps and authenticators, etc; whenever I try to go into the security settings it basically crashes (Settings has stopped working message). I have wiped and used the stock SlimBean and it is working fine, the issue only comes up once I advanced restore the backup ROMs data.
I have reflashed the Slim boot.img, and got another copy of the SlimBean ROM just in case but that has not helped.
Everything else works fine just this one issue.
I know I am not using the latest CWM, could this be the problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
