I believe that this problem persist regardless of the ROM....the screen lock sound is really low, you have to be quiet or put it to your ear to hear it. All other tones are pretty loud...such as dialer.
I've tried audio manager and all of my levels are up, any ideas?
Try using the Sony xloud flashable zip found here http://www.goodandevo.net/hacks/ it makes your EVO lockscreen louder as well

Someone there recommends installing "DSP Manager". However, I think that only helps with music, ringtones, games, etc. I don't think it will help with the speakerphone volume.
has anyone found a answer for the speaker problem yet it is driving me crazy i love this phone except for this
thanks

Well, not sure if it's going to make much of a difference, but if you are using CM go to Settings>CyanogenMod settings> Sound. There you can change the notification, ring tone, and alarms from either 0db, 4db 6db (default), 8db, and 10db. Changing that to 10db on all of them should help out just a little..
I have a custom bootanimation that includes audio. Sometimes when I boot it is VERY loud. Other times not so loud. I've been unable to identify exactly what controls the volume for the bootanimation.

I believe system volume. Try quick settings app to adjust it.

Thats what i was thinking that what ever vol you were on when you reboot or shut down is how loud the boot sound will be, but not positive. I always remove the boot sounda.
It is the ringer volume. If you have no ringer volume, you will get no sound. If you have high ringer volume, you get loud sound. You can remove or change the boot sound by replacing or removing the VZW_Droid.mp3 in /system/customize/resource/, or if your rom has /data/customize, then /data/customize/resource/

Hmmm...
I am running stock, updated to Gingerbread. There is a separate bootup sound file in my syste/customize/resource folder named VZW_Droid.mp3. I swapped mine out with a renamed short mp3.

I've already google but couldnt find any answer. My problem is when i set notification sound to maximum in sound volume setting, the music player start giving notification sound at the starting of the sound. Skipping to next song also have same problem. Only after i zero down the notification volume it change to crackling sound but its better than that annoying sound.just want to know if there a solution, if not i just live with it.

which version are you using? did you try RC3?
7.2 stable mod

I'm stock ICS
Ever since upgrading to ICS my notification sounds have been incredibly loud.
It seems like the notification volume is either set to max or mute. No matter what I set ringtone volume to, the notifcation sound comes blasting out at full volume.
Has anyone else run into this?
Is there any fix other than normalizing my notification sound mp3 to be quieter?
Never had that issue.

Just came from the S6, now trying this G4 out. So far its amazing but does anyone know how to turn off the shutter sound in the camera besides lowering your ring volume?
There are no other option, only make your phone silent... Maybe if rooted, you can tweaks the sound

Mine is rooted, where can I find the camera sound file to mute? Thank you!
You could use another app.. But you'll lose quality probably..
Just turn off the ringer sound..
