guys please help i cant boot into recovery!!!
it just flashes then boots into the rom.
im currently using the cm9 build
ive tried every thing inc. flashinng interim recovery but does not work! what should i do please suggest!!!
Give us more information of what is happening?
I assume you are holding 'Power' + 'Volume Down' buttons and booting into the bootloader?
Then you select 'Recovery' from the HBOOT menu and what happens then?
Try 'fastboot flash recovery <cwm>.img' for the actual Clockwork Mod recovery, it works fine, you don't need interim any more.
Other than that, you can use 'fastboot boot <cwm>.img' and it will download the recovery into the device's memory and boot from that.
He fixed it .

I got my phone a bit damp while skiing and now the + vol button doesn't work. I would like to keep playing around with Roms however the inability to flash an update.zip to boot into clockwork mod worries me too much.
Is there anyway to get into the standard recovery without holding the + and pushing power? Or possibly hard-flash clockwork mod?

---Solved, flashed recovery using unREVoked, works well now. Thanks everyone, back continuous unadulterated flashing---
Well, ROM manager can boot into recovery, but obviously that requires a working ROM.
Regards,
Dave
Install ROM Manager from the Marketplace, use the custom clockwork recovery image in my sig (fake flash). You can then install the custom recovery image from the root of your sd card using ROM Manager. To flash ROMs in the future, in ROM Manager, select the 'Install ROM from sd card option'. You can then use the trackpad to navigate through the recovery menu options instead of the Vol key.

Yeah I know I can get there from Clockworkmod, but the rom needs to be working. I'm worried about flashing anything else in case one of the roms is broken.
I've read that unrevoked rooted phones can do it, can I use the unrevoked method even though I'm already rooted with Paul's riskfree?
If you turn on your phone while pressing the "Back"button on the right of the (OJ)optical joystick, your phone boots in "Fastboot"
Then you select "Bootloader" by pressing the powerbutton
If one of your vol buttons still works, you can press it untill you've selected recovery
Et Voila

I can get to the recovery screen, black phone with red exclamation mark in triangle. It is at this screen I need the vol(+) button. Hmmm...not too confident about flashing roms anymore

Use UnrEVOked to permanently flash a recovery image onto your phone.
Regards,
Dave
From terminal
su
reboot recovery
Also works
Where to from here?
I have been reading up on fastboot, in which I should be able to restore a nandroid backup if flashing a rom fails. This doesn't need the recovery console, there is some contingency I guess.
Has anyone used unrevoked on a prerooted device? are the steps the same?

For instructions for flashing a permanent recovery image (UnrEVOked) are pretty straightforward. Please see the following link for more information:

Just make sure you have HTC Sync uninstalled beforehand. To remove UnrEVOked, simply flash your original RUU file, which will also return you to stock and remove root.

how to s-off htc wildfire s. I've unlocked it and then you can not get into recovery
You must flash a custom recovery first. Check the index. You need xtc-clip to get s-off

get cwm 5.0.2.8 and flash it to get into recovery { http://www.mediafire.com/?pqtgftm40909r31 and u kno how to flash recovery recovery.img }
+
u need to press vol+ and vol- button repeatedly in recovery mode to enable back button [i.e. to get in-out of recovery options]
this vol+ and vol- should be like --> go to last option by vol+ and then come back to 1st option by vol- and repeat unless its displayed 'back button enable' on screen
for S-OFFing, if u find any alternate stable method (excluding xtc-clip) plz post me.

Hello xda, im new here.
The reason i registered, is that i have a question. i belive i have bricked my htc desire 300.
I can hold the power button and the volume down but from that menu if i try to open recovery it starts loading but never loads.
The fastboot menu says that that i have no OS installed. This happened yesterday without any reason. I did have CWM installed but like i said it wont boot into CWM.
is there any way i can flash a stock rom and get my recovery back, or atleast something to save my phone?
thank you for reading
Try re-flash CWM from Fastboot with the 'fastboot flash recovery filename.img' command. All recoveries are phone specific, so make sure to download the version of CWM built specifically for your phone.
Dear all,
im using oppo find 7 and now i have problem to enter a recovery, when i press power button + vol down, screen show fastboot, all this happen after i root my phone using KingRoot, im planning to install CWM to replace recovery. but also fail..:crying::crying::crying:
NEED HELP FROM PROS... THANKS A LOT....
Did you try pwr + vol+ buttons? Anyway if u have just rooted you need to go into fastboot, flash the recovery and then boot into recovery. Make sure u unlock bootloader when in fast boot. Else recovery will be wiped. Also i suggest using TWRP instead of cwm.
