Google pulled the 4.0.04 IMM76K OTA off their servers just recently.
From what I understand, even when OTAs leak and way more people get their hand on the file, they don't delete the file off their server. They only delete it if they find a problem with the build [from what I've read].
So what's the problem? Anyone notice any weird behavior? Maybe people who are planning on flashing from a mirror should hold off for a bit.

Yeah there was probably some kind of major problem found. The only other times I can remember Google physically deleting OTAs from the Android OTA server was two updates for the Nexus S...one that broke tethering and another that never worked for anyone because it was looking for a radio that didn't exist.

Clicking the link that used to work now gives 404 .
I'm running the 4.0.4 and it seems fine everything running great. I think they might have taken it down for some other reason. But that's just my 2cents on the situation.

Perhaps a new version is coming out?
I had two random reboots since updating. The second reboot just happened while reading in tapatalk. When it rebooted,I got a message saying that it was activating, then it said that activation was successful. I've never seen that happen before when experiencing random reboots.
I upgraded from stock 4.0.2 rooted.

Some people sayed that Google was taking it back because of the bugs and network problems.

Jeeezz.. Glad I got it when I did. My battery life is at least 33% better, the phone is at least 25% faster. I have had zero issues with it. Certianly nothing that warrants putting it on hold.

Many people suffered unexplainable signal drops while in deep sleep and other general sudden radio drops. It can't be because of the new radio that followed, since I have that and run CM9 and no signal-drops whatsoever.
So, Google decided to hold on to the second "batch" of OTA releases since the first batch caused problems. They will fix the error an re-release the OTA later. At least what I've heard, doesn't mean what I say is true.

Yeah, it's possible. And furthermore, to make sure your phone registers as "yakju", you only need to flash the yakju system.img. Possibly the kernel too.

also noticed when on wifi sometimes it trips out and when im downloading an app that is like 27mbs my wifi disconnects and reconnects like crazy. its odd.

Nope, I have been running on tmobile since day 1 and have never had this issue, but have had multiple others. I suggest you reflash to another rom, or if it is stock reflash the stock rom (if you can do this). Something prob just went wrong when he updated, happens to us all.
Would generally say that's not normal.

Modem version i747MVLLH1
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=SGH-I747M&pcode=BMC&os=1&type=1#firmware
Quoted from Mobile Syrup
"Samsung Galaxy S III (SGH-i747M) users today will be able to download an update over the air (OTA) that brings “improved stability”, bug fixes, better battery life and you can now adjust the screen brightness from the drop down menu. It’s still at OS 4.0.4 — no Jelly Bean yet — but we’re getting various tips that the Bell update is 100.27MB, while Rogers is 86.08MB. TELUS customers have also been pushed the update, no word yet on all the carriers who have the SGIII in their lineup."
The update should be waiting for you. If not, check Settings >> About Device >> Software Update.

I'm with bell and the update was 86mb.
Nice to see they didn't bother to fix the standby battery usage issue. Then again, with how much power I seem to save when I'm in service area, I wonder sometimes if its really a misread at all
My update was around a 100MB. I noticed some changed settings in the camera app, the messenger moved the attachement icon to the side instead of underneath the send button, I noticed some setting changes in the settings (or maybe I didn't notice them)

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I'm still waiting. WTF?
I had to get my update via Kies, nothing came OTA.
Not a major issue on that, although after the update was pushed, my SD card was corrupted and had to be reformatted.
So make sure you either unmount or physically remove any external SD card, I lost all my photos :\
OTA update was waiting for my sasktel phone this morning when I woke up. My phone is rooted, so I was a little cautious to perform the update, but after reading around, it just breaks root.
Did the update at work, re-rooted, and away we go.
Only problem I've noticed thus far is that it broke the auto-detect of the headphone jack on my phone, which if I went and installed my PowerAmp, would be nothing at all.
Otherwise, phone seems snappier. I'll give it a full day tomorrow with my usual routine, to see how well it performs battery wise.
OTA upgrade Crashes my Email
I upgraded yesterday, on Bell
Since then, my exchange email crashes constantly, and now my touch wiz has started to randomly crash.
I reinstalled email, and still random crashing................not sure why
Anyone with ideas ?
thanks for your help !

First, try booting into recovery, wiping both dalvik and system cache and rebooting. If this does not resolve the issue, backup device, perform factory reset and restore device.

Just so everyone knows I have a Nexus that was part of the "bad batch"
If you're like me and never got around to getting a replacement or just did want a refurb I'm here to tell you that the latest radio does indeed fix the 4G issues. I was surprised because we all came to the conclusion that the radios themselves were faulty.
So make sure you head to [Radios][VZW] ALL the Verizon Galaxy Nexus Radios and flash the latest radio, unless you're still unrooted than I'm sure you'll get the OTA soon.
Anyway, cheers.

Well if you're unrooted waiting for the OTA they said you'll need to connect to WIFI and they wont do real OTA until October. So try connecting to WIFI and going to about phone and check for update there.
Answer with your location if you have gotten the update. This also will help answer my curiosity on how they roll out updates and where. If anyone gets the update please post the manual download link
New link since the old one was deleted.
http://android.clients.google.com/p...0/eec955eb4a5b.update_SPH-L710_LI3_to_LJ7.zip
Start downloading people the official ota lj7. Boot into recovery and install with Samsung recovery and all will be good.!
Just got mine updated manually. Placed the zipped file on root on my sd card. Then shut it down. Removed and reinserted the battery. Held down the volume up, home button, and power until I saw Samsung display on the screen. A menu then came up and I selected restore from sd file or something like that. Install worked without a hitch!
I think, not sure, OTAs get to the "major markets" first, then more rural and smaller areas get them as the days go on.
I only say that based on my experience. I live in a small town in Western New York and it usually takes the OTAs a few days to get pushed here after an official announcement from Sprint
But I too am also interested in which markets get the OTA first.

Nope, havent gotten it.
I remember when I had my GS2, when the 4.0 OTA came out, people that got the update first extracted the URL of the update file and posted it here in XDA and so people that hadnt gotten the update could manually download it instead of waiting weeks for the OTA to hit their phones...
Will we have the same now for the GS3?

It's not a URL, it's the actual OTA file. You accept the download, then before it reboots to install, you copy the file in /cache to your computer. Then upload to the file sharing host of your choosing and share that URL with the masses.
Never mind lol

I know there is a trick to stop the framework process or something to that extent to force and update once it comes out. I think I cleared the cash and then it found the update.
