You could do that before flashing Cwm aswell.. Use rom toolbox.. I did it the day I got this phone
Good morning everyone,
I am new to the forum, I am in urgent need of a ROM that is compatible with the device "Trio Stealth Pro 7." I installed Play Store it was working fine, but when I reset to factory defaults was locked in the boot screen. I installed a ROM then said to be compatible, the CM9, but when finished installing and I rebooted the device, the touchscreen does not work anymore.
I wish you guys give me a solution to this problem, I'm desperate and do not know what else to do!
Sincerely,
Eduardo Baptista

This is most likely because your ROM did not come with the ft5x_ts driver that our tablet uses. I had to go through driver issues myself, but that was voluntary since I wanted a newer ROM than 4.0.4 on my tablet. If you search around the forums there are ROMs out there that will work with our tablets, the thread I have been following:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831257
should set you on a more correct path. Does your tablet have an HDMI port? If so, you probably have the A10 version, if not, then you probably have the A13 version. If you're interested in 4.1.1 instead of 4.0.4, then that thread should help you.
You also have the option to take it upon yourself to learn how to modify the script.bin file to include the proper touch screen interface code and make sure the proper driver is installed.
Where I am stuck right now with my modded ROM is my capacitive touch buttons don't work. You don't happen to have the ability to use lsmod and dump the results here do you? lsmod will show you what drivers your tablet is using, so you can ensure that you can see what touchscreen driver your tablet is trying to use but failing to make work.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU COULD PERMANENTLY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE. READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING.
These tablets are an LY-F1 clone. So most of the stuff that is compatible with an ly-f1 will work for you.
The model I am referring to and have personal experience with is the following: Trio Stealth Pro 7c
The Trio already comes rooted. I accidentally un-rooted mine AND I ended up with the 0.00 internal storage error. It would not let me download or install apps already on my SD card. To install a new (custom) ROM you can follow this quick guide I will put together for you.
First...
Things you will need to Download;
CWM Recovery for the Trio Stealth Pro 7c : CWM Recovery 6.0.1.2 for Allwinner A10 LY-F1/TREQ Tablets
Custom ROM for the Trio Stealth Pro 7c : Choco Ice Cream 4.0 BETA1 for Allwinner A10 LY-F1/TREQ
32 or 64 Windows ADB Drivers : Windows ADB Drivers for Trio Stealth Pro 7c
ADB needs to be downloaded and installed/setup via the Android SDK found here : Android SDK Download
1.) Download CWM Recovery
2.) After your download is finished go ahead and extract the contents to the SD card. I connected to my PC and put the extracted files (there are 3 files) on both the internal storage as well as the removable micro-SD just to be safe.
3.) Download Choco Ice Cream 4.0 BETA1
4.) After the ROM finishes downloading DO NOT extract; just copy the whole .zip file directly to the Micro-SD Card as-is.
5.) Connect your Trio to your Windows PC with a USB cable. Make sure you go to settings/Developer Options/and turn on USB Debugging. I had to open device manager and manually install the ADB Drivers. You can check to see if the drivers are installed by opening a command prompt on your computer. You would do this by going to start and typing CMD into the search bar. Or you can click on Run and type CMD into the box. This should open your command prompt. Enter each line one at a time, pressing enter after each line:
cd/
cd androidsdk/platform-tools (some of you may have to type just "tools' depending on which version you have)
adb devices
After hitting enter you should see your device's serial number. This shows that your device is connected and was found. If you do not see your device serial number either you don't have the correct drivers for your device or you did not enable usb debugging mode.
6.) Now we're going to start the adb shell by typing the following, again, pressing ENTER after each line of text.
cd\
cd androidsdk\platform-tools
adb shell
You should now see one of the following symbols:
# or $
Now type the following, again, pressing ENTER after each line of text
cd /mnt/sdcard
sh install-recovery.sh
sh reboot-recovery.sh
After pressing enter, you will see your tablet reboot into recovery mode. You can use the volume buttons to move up and down and use the power button to select. To get back into Recovery Mode if you reboot out of it or your tablet turns off; go ahead and turn your Trio completely off. Once it is shut down press the center of the volume button until the WHOLE thing is pushed in. Do this WHILE holding down the power button. Keep it held for a few seconds until you see the the screen come back on. Once you see it, you can let go and it will reboot into recovery mode.
7.) From Recovery mode:
MAKE A FULL BACK-UP FIRST. DON'T IGNORE THIS STEP!!! IT MIGHT JUST SAVE YOUR DEVICE ONE DAY!!! When the backup gets finished go back and then:
SELECT: INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD. (press the power button once to select it).
If you placed the ROM on the micro SD-card then you should select 'Choose zip from sd card' if you placed the ROM on your internal SD-card you should select: 'Choose zip from internal sd card'. Now find where you placed the ROM/download. Use the volume buttons to scroll up and down. Once you find it, select it with the power button. Scroll down until you see 'Install choco ice cream 4.0beta1_LYF1.zip'. Select this with the power button.
8.) It should now start to install. This will take maybe 3 minutes tops. Just be patient. When it's done, wipe the data and the cache. (it was one of the options listed when you first start recovery mode)
9.) SELECT: GO BACK; then choose REBOOT or REBOOT YOUR DEVICE or whatever and wait for the device to finish restarting. It takes several minutes to finish booting up; be patient; it will get done sooner or later.
10.) Your Finished

Hello.
Me too.
I can not install your update.
I allocated it into the sd card, I started the recovery, but it gave me out "installation aborted" .
I tried to install the cwm recovery with nokia x manager (with the right drivers and everything as you said), but the process hangs at nokia initial logo , and is necessary to remove the battery (after 60 min) for restart the phone. Nokia flash , however, if I try to install it on windows professional 32 bit ( the only windows I have, because I use linux) , tell "is not an application for 32-bit" .

I apologize for my error but I had write on the wrong thread.
I have not tried the solution proposed here , I tried the solution proposed in the other thread, with the update 1.2.4.1 .
Unfortunately they were open both and I responded to the wrong one.
I hope you will forgive me and especially yoann44 .
I can not download the package because i think that in my country is impossible to pay . I continue to put the code but says it is wrong.
Nor with safari or google chrome I can finish the procedure.
How can I do?
I don't understand about what are you saying, I think you phone is full brick if you are unable to enter in Bootloader Mod, so check your productcode and discribe you problem
Just Download and Follow the Guide from Below Links if you are able to enter in bootloader mode (Half Brick). Otherwise claim you warranty.

I have done everything.
However :
1) "done" it never arrived even after half an hour
2 ) I repeated the operation
3 ) at the end everything is back (hopefully) normal without root
For me, this method does not work: installation aborted.

Why it's necessary to pay from software that is free form the autor's site?
The proposed solution isn't working on 1.2.4.1 is there another usefull solution to root?

I purchased a used Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 on ebay. Originally it had Android 4.4.2
When I turned it on the device is in retail demo mode.
I have tried the following
1) passwords found on this forum such as (5444, M729Q16K8546, blue, unlimited, easy, galaxy)
2) none of these worked
3) Can not deselect "samsung retail mode" in settings/security/administrators
I tried updating to android 6.0.1 by doing the following but the retail mode is still there
It will not enter into download mode so I did the following
1) Enabled developer options on tablet
2) Used command "adb reboot download"
3) Installed Android 6.0.1 stock rom (T800XXU1CPH7_T800XAR1CPH4_XAR.zip) from sammobile.com
4) Tablet installed and updated Android
5) Retail mode is still there and I still can not get rid of it
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated
Thanks
Never had a retail demo device so my answer may be limited.
Did you tried/are able to install TWRP ?
If you can get TWRP you can try to make a complete factory wipe (Advanced Wipe > check all the boxes > wipe)
Then reboot to download mode (Reboot > Download)
Install the stock rom again

Flash it via odin
I have tried to do TWRP but can not get it to work. I did not use the apk I was using ODIN on my pc. I was using a TWRP file twrp_3.0.0-0_T800. Not sure if that was the issue or not.
Here are the steps I used:
1) put phone into download mode by using adb on pc (adb reboot download)
2) In ODIN
a) turn off autop reboot
b) select AP file twrp_3.0.0-0_T800
c) wait for success in ODIN
3) tablet never rebooted so I used these keys (press at same time until reboot power+vol down+vol up+home)
4) Tablet rebooted into normal running mode
If you don't enter in recovery right away you flash it the system will revert the changes back. so if the system start to boot normally you need to flash via odin again.
I recommend you to flash the version i linked, as it is more compatible with MM bootloader, also turning off auto reboot is a very important thing.
You need to press all the buttons together power+vol down+vol up+home, (press power last) . when the screen light up release the volume up button (the next to power button) and keep holding the rest.
also...
You can try one trick that i use sometimes, it will give you more time to make the key combination, connect the device to the charger and press and hold power+vol up until the screen turn off, it may show a battery icon, so you disconnect the charger and wait the icon go away. the device should be turned off now. so you basically press and hold vol down+home+power (press power last)
If you done the combination correctly and the screen became black, don't worry, it is a bug, just wait some time (1 min i think) and press home key, it should show the recovery.
It can be a pain in the a** sometimes... but trust me, it generally works.
Ok, so far so good. It took a while but I got into TWRP. But I can't seem to select the image file.
I have it on an external MicroSD in the root. File is called T800XXU1CPH7_T800XAR1CPH4_XAR.zip
I can browse files on the list on the left. But I can't seem to find the file
Did I miss a step?
Somehow after going through menus, it recognized the file
But when I tried to install it, I got these errors
Zip Signature verification failed!
Error installing zip file /sdcard/download/T800XXU1CPH7_T800ZXAR1CPH4_XAR.zip
Could not find 'META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary' in zip file
Error installing zip file /sdcard/download/T800XXU1CPH7_T800ZXAR1CPH4_XAR.zip
you got me wrong, in the TWRP what you need to do is make a complete wipe (Wipe > Advanced Wipe > check all the boxes > wipe)
then you need to enter in download mode. (Reboot > Download)
and flash the rom via odin!
extract the zip on your pc, it should be a .Tar file, select AP mode on odin, select the .tar and flash it in there.
I apologize for the confusion. Those steps worked!!
I think part of the problem is that I did not extract the firmware file. I kept trying to flash the TAR file.
I did a wipe in TWRP
Then rebooted into download mode
Flashed extracted firmware file in ODIN in AP Box
Then the tablet rebooted and was in setup mode like a brand new tablet!! Who hoo.
Works great
Thanks for all the help
