I flashed my SGY last Sunday. I only noticed the problem today since I tried to used the Wi-Fi about an hour ago.
To my surprise, I can't use it. When I enter into Setup > Wifi Settings > Wifi
when I tick it, it shows Error.
When I look at the Advance Settings of Wi-Fi, the Mac Address is Unavailable.
I was about to bring my phone to Samsung Service Center when I realized that my ODIN Bin Count is 2 so NO warranty service as of the moment.
What should I do to probably fix the problem?
Things that I do with the Phone before I noticed the error on Wi-Fi:
1. Used Meruk's Custom Kernel
2. Flashed Beats Audio [Port]
3. Flashed Bravia Engine [Port]
Can't suggest a solution, just dropped by to say It'd be helpful if you quote which ROM you are using.
P.S. try another ROM..
Sorry. Forgot to mention. I'm using stock DXLC1 rom.
I've also reflashed using ODIN
from stock DXLC1 to DXLA1 still same issue. I'm still searching on how to reset the bin count to 0 so I could bring the phone to a Service Center

Download the stock ROM of your region from this topic and flash it..

To ensure WIFI works properly you need to download the EXACT region firmware..
When Android boots up, it's highly recommended to set your CSC via the dialer *#272*_your_imei_# (to see IMEI type *#06# in dialer)
If that doesnt work try these tips which worked for me :
1) Install Busybox Installer and install the latest busybox version and restart with WIFI on..after restarting youll have your wifi sorted but you need to keep wifi on everytime you restart
2) Download Wifi Fixes from Market..There are a total of 3 working fixes which fixed my wifi once..

I have done your suggestion and it works.
Steps I did:
1. Re-apply the stock DXLB1 of Doky.
2. Did not use the factory reset
3. Re-apply Root
then all goes well.

I'll post a report at merruk kernel regarding this error so that he may know the problem.

I am having issue in connecting mobile data, although I have the "data enabled" option ticked, but there is no mobile data icon appears on the status bar.
I googled and tried lots of apn setting for my carrier however none of them can solve my problem. I have done the "search automatically" method under network operators. Also, I have tried flash newer cyanogenmod nightly and other radio version over my original cyagenmod rom, but none of these help.
Please advice on how could I get my mobile data working again.

I deactivated my 3G subscription. Deleted the APN. Activated 3G subscription. Recreated the APN and voila I am connecting via 3G. I hope this would help others facing this issue as well.

Hi,
I have tried all three radio versions, flashed all 3 of them several times for the last 3-4 days but I am still not able to enable the functions of GPS & Mobile Data (Internet) on my rooted HTC Wildfire. Currently I am running Cyanogenmod 7.1.0.1.
I am really going crazy over this. In google maps, location is found only while using wi-fi. With GPS location is not found although the GPS icon comes in status bar. Mobile internet doesnt work at all.
Please help.

- Downloaded from android forums.
- Connect phone to PC and run RUU
- This downgrads phone OS to eclair (android 2.1)
- Let it do the bizniss
- Re-root with unrevoked 3

I had big problem with wifi in my wildfire s. Smartphone doesn't search any network. When I turning on wifi, on screen shows "Searching wifi networks..." And... nothing else...
Now I had CM10.0, on stock 2.3.7 it was the same.

Haha its ur lucky day cuz I had this prob and I successfully fixed it
Steps:
1.Remove the battery and the sim card
2.Insert the battery and boot into cwm
3.Do a clean wipe then a clean install of your ROM
4.Reboot and the WiFi is working
5.Remove the battery and re-insert the battery and the sim card
6.reboot
7.if the problem did come back so go to system settings then WiFi then press menu and click on advanced then click on WiFi region code and choose Europe
8.Congrats your WiFi is working

I have the same problem with my device :crying: , and i tried to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvic cashe, and wipe battery stats too, then reflash zip file into my device and i got same problem, but it is worth mentioning that my WIFI working properly once at first time i use smart phone after flashing zip file .
then i tried also to install WIFIx Manager app whome manage wireless connections but nothing changed .
I download another release of CM and i tried flash it into my device, and also it gave me same problem, and i flashed another rom from another serirs "not CM" and WIFI working perfectly, so there isn't hardware damage .
please help us,, i tried too many soluations and i got nothing, Finally i'm sorry for my weak english .

I tried to flash other kernels many times but... still not working
I'm sure that must be a hardware problem. It can be repaired?
firstly phone stopped charging
then wont make calls saying not registered on network ???
its not the sim,
tried various roms still the same,done a full wipe gone back on stock but still the same ,anyone else had these faults.

I had this several times, its because your modem / kernel does not support your network, in my case, I used odin to on-root it, -just google about that - and flashed the official rom - ( not including modem) and everything was normal again, then I just used other roms, some do work, some dont.

tried official stock from samfirmware ,no network and still wont charge up

since two days suddenly started Wifi Problem for my phone till now was working good so tried the *#0011# method but its not working when i try to connect its just showing connecting then it again show saved secured network and its not getting connected and i tried soft reset and then even tried hard reset still its invain but now i suddenly noticed that when i sit within one metre range frm router i got connected but its using wifi i cannot sit near the wifi router to use it every now and then i am not able to understand is it a hardware problem or it is a software bug and even after sitting near about i feet to router it is giving me a link speed of 5MBPS previously even after being in another room i used to get 64 mbps link speed even attaching a screen shot please help me need your help .
I am from India and own a international N7100 .

1st: make EFS backup (important! )
It is essentially a software issue. If you are on custom ROM, try flashing Agni Kernel (risky business). It should work.
If not, do a full data wipe / factory reset. Also format internal SD card. (Move your important stuff to external SD card and remove it for safety reasons)
Flash stock ROM via ODIN. The problem should be solved.

Think mine is the same issue. Updated from 4.1.2 Jellybean to 4.4.2 Kitkat. Now wifi will not switch on. Flick switch to right only to see it flick straight back.
Didn't really want to re-flash.

1st thing: go to stock recovery and do a wipe data/ factory reset and wipe cache partition.
If problem persists, only then flash the firmware.

I'd like to wipe my Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 to factory settings.
I used classic startup menu (POWER+VOLUME) to access the wipe option.
When it restarts, WiFi is not working anymore : it can't activated.
It worked once, I succeeded to give the WPA2 key, I got an IP, and 2 seconds later, Wifi was not actived anymore and I wasn't able to activate it again.
I tried several workarounds, several solutions, several ODIN version to push several ROM files. Nothing is working.
Lot of ROMs are considered as invalid by different ODIN versions (even if MD5 checksum is valid).
Is there any package I can try to install (through APK inserted on the SD card for instance) to test something ?
Is there a good ROM file to download/try ?

Try different network, if it's the same, the wifi built in is defective. There is no option other than changing a new board and it's not expensive

Trust me, after factory reset and at initial setting, Wifi should be turn on by default; if it doesn't your Wifi chips are defective
