I had tried using this method too, but it didn't unlock my bootloader either.
I had also wanted to remove the network and SIM locks from this Wildfire S. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

htc desire hd
awesome work :good::good::good::good::good::good::good:
u can use also Htcdev method. with this your bootloader will be unlocked in order to install custom ROMs. also
with your hboot version you can skip RUU hboot upgrade step.

but how to root new model of Wildfire S, i hv tried many ways but still not rooted my device.
As far i know the stock rom is the best for wildfire S. Other roms are still with bugs.
If you root, it will void your warranty. But you will have the admin rights of your phone in your hand. And You can solve the internal memory problem by using link2sd or app2sd.
How to root it: Search it here.
