Xperia S on GB?!?! - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm thinking about going back to GB as ICS it's becoming a burden rather then an awesome thing but I've installed some Xperia S stuff (from here: http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/02/25/xperia-s-home-launcher-and-widgets-leaked/) and I quite like the tools and the home screen.
Can I install it on GB 2.3.4? Is it compatible?

ICS for Xperia S hasn't been released yet. It is still on Gingerbread (2.3.7).

Yes yes, they are compatible.
Or you can flash an Xperia S look alike ROM based on GB.. Original Xperia S Rom Beta 5 for Arc / Arc S

Thank you! Installed!
Keeping a GB 2.3.4 with Xperia S stuff for the time being (while ICS is "buggy") and it rocks!

Leaked ICS Launcher to ARC

Here are the leaked original ICS launcher. But this not works to arc, because Arc have version 2.3 and this works only for 4.0.
So is there anyone who can do, so it working to arc (2.3.4)
Source for the launcher: http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/NexusS/roms/ICS/NexusSICS.zip

Read further up
where did you get that file..
THAT FILE DONT EXIST...sony launcher is not yet created..
that is for galaxy nexus (samsung brand)
find ICS 4.0 generic world...not for galaxy nexus
I think this is generic launcher, taken from a rom to Nexus S (This are not are branded launcher, Nexus S are just as generic as the Nexus prime)
rom for nexus dosent have any simillar button or anything like sony does.
Wait for update, be patiend.
I think you misunderstand me, I want the original generic for arc, not S/E own
that is not possible.
It will either
HTC ported to arc
Samsung ported to arc
LG ported to arc
Cyanogen ported to arc
It cant be original generic
Plz read first.. I know my attached Launcher2.apk not support Arc, but maybe someone could do so it support Arc ( modified Launcher to Arc)

Xperia PLAY ICS 4.0.4 Xperia S

So I have a Xperia PLAY R800i GSM on ICS Beta with DooMKernal but I was wondering if there were any roms that have basically the ICS 4.0.4 ported with all the Xperia S's themes, apps, widgets. There are some roms on 4.0.4 with Xperia S themes and apps but have quite a number of apps and features removed such as the weather widget. So if there is a rom on ICS 4.0.4 with Xperia S's themes, apps and widgets with nothing removed, I would be glad that someone could point it out to me, or could tell me how I could do it myself since the Xperia S theme and apps I've searched for are only avaliable for Xperia Arc, which I tried and cost my phone to be stuck at the boot screen and I had to flash it back to stock kernal...
Xperia NXT uses alot of arc s apps i think, im going 2 check it for you
EDIT: found the thread, it looks alot like the xperia s i think. link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368
hey there^^
I didn't found the weather widget on the Xperia PLAY ICS 4.0.4
is the Xperia NXT better than Xperia PLAY ICS 4.0.4? o:
I like the version what I've at the moment
I'm searching the On/Off widgets too...

Tried it before, but after the phone said it has finished optimizing it's phone, it was stuck at boot screen saying "Android is upgrading... Finishing boot" The screen wasn't stuck as the loading circle thingy was still rotating, took a nap for around 2 hour and knew something was wrong and just flashed my phone back to ICS beta. Maybe I did something wrong? I basically flash the zip via cwm.

Recommend no frills ICS-ROM

Hello peers, I am on Xperia V right now but also have an Xperia Arc in my closet. So I wanted to make it come to life again with a nice ROM. But there are so many ROMs now in the forum so I can't make a decision since I have been away for long time here and only hanging around in the Xperia V (LT25i) forum.
I need help in finding a ROM for my unlocked bootloader Arc (LT15i) that dosen't have to be flashed with Arc S (LT18i) firmware first.
I want just the basics-, nothing fancy and ICS with some minor tweaks and added performance boost etc (On-screen-buttons would be nice too).
Please help me find a ROM, and kindly provide a link to the developer thread.
I thank you much in advance.
For the beginning i would recommend one of the following ROMs : Viper Xperia and UHD 3.0.2. I would Choose Viper Xperia (PDroid ) but this is only my opinion.
Hi datagubben,
You can flash LT18i .ftf first just so you have 420MB in /system partition, instead of 380MB of LT15i. Other than that there's no differences.
If you want a nice ICS ROM with on screen buttons I would suggest Pureness ROM by ThilinaC.

He's not developing it anymore, but it is the best looking one out there, in my opinion at least.
Latest version 14 SP1 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34644405&postcount=2370

[Q] There Is the ROM ported official ICS ROM ?

I've know that
- 2011 devices are arc, Ray, Play, Neo, Pro
- They have officilal ICS ROMs.
- But only Play doesn't have.
It is right?
Actually I want official ICS ROM,
not custom rom.
Although its perfomence isn't good.
I just want to flash.
So...
there is any ICS ROM ported official ROM of other devices?
As similar as possible official ROM.
Thanks.

Ics beta for play,its official
http://www.mediafire.com/convkey/2c02/hwa6wevxht5aumsfg.jpg?size_id=5
Well, Neo L have (exactly) same hardware as Play (minus touchpads and physicly reversed camera) and it has official ICS. Few roms are based on that ics:
TrueAncestor, ICS Original+, Neo2Play, or you can just flash Neo L firmware if you want the "true taste" of (bloated ) ICS.
There are also Xplaystation ROM and Johnnzy's ROM based on ics beta for Play, fully working.
Working good on any kernel for Play (doomlords, lupus or turbo kernel).

This is a port of neo l official ics with everything worrying for the play. The play version has a couple mods to make it smoother and nicer looking

[Q] Is a stock based JB rom possible for xperia play?

I was just wondering if it was possible to make a sony stock based JB rom for xperia play? But from what i know Sony has to come out with some kind of official JB first before we can make a Stock based rom correct?
Of course i ask because i love JB on my xperia play but i missed external XLoud, the external speaker volume is Horrible, it sounds like official GB on the LOWEST VOLUME! and also the touchpads those too lol.

Yes unless we get some beta like in ICS but at this stage its not going to happen. To SONY we are a device of the past, not nice but true. So not possible
I see... well is there anyway of making the external speakers louder WITHOUT a EQ
There is someone working on a stock based jb ROM from Sony source called semc debrand engine. It won't actually be stock because it'll be made by someone else not Sony but it'll be closr and have all Sony jb features. Right now its still in beta and not released but I'll link you to the thread
