Does anyone know ow to disable htc sense on disire.
I hva esearched and googled it and the method they show is for a pre-released desire.
I want to make the desire look like the nexus one. just for simplicity.
Download Helixlauncher 2 from the market place and home switcher, install them, if you want to switch between one to the other you can with home switcher..

ok thanks i will give this a try
Most people think "Sense UI" is the reason to buy a Desire rather than a Nexus One.
Have you tried this;

It doesn't work with the final rom of the desire, when you try it just reboots sense ui now, helixlauncher works.
thanks for the info - good to know
you can get the nexus one "lock screen" experience

HelixLauncher works a treat, I can still access Sense and also have the simplicity of like bare rom function.
Thanks for this.
I want to have pattern lock turned on, but don't want it to ask me every time screen turns off... Ideally I want to be able to set time delay before it asks me...
In 2.1, I used to use Lock Delay...
There's a similar question which I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=718981), but that's for Nexus One.
Not sure if there's any solution for SGS?
Thanks
Sounds like a job for Tasker...
doesn't any one care or know about this?
i'd be interested in this
That would be realy appreciated if someone could come up with something for root user as it seems that Google made it impossible for an app to control the lockscreen in froyo.

Hi,
Yeah I'm aware its "danageraus" to put the BT discoverable and on all the time, but still,
Is there a way to make it on discoverable with no time limit (120 seconds)?
Thank you.
Yarden.
MMM you tried with bluetooth on/off widget by Curve Fish?
also the HTC stock bluetooth widget does it,,,
What do you mean by HTC stock bluetooth widget?
Can you explain that please? I don't understand where you see it.
BTW, the curve fish doesn't have that option.
Only, on and off, nothing about the "Discoverable" marking.

yes
the htc stock widget its in the widgets section in(long press on desktop..etc..)
and then browse the settings widgets and select the bluetooth widget...
u seen it now?
if u enables this widget your device is visible all the time,,
Thank you for helping but unfortunately you are wrong.
I'm not visible to any one, I must go to settings to enable this 120 seconds Discoverable option.
Maybe you tested it with Known-Partner and he already got you on list, but with new people it can't be visible, I just tested trice.

I have the solution, if you are still interested.
It's in main.conf file.
If you want to know more, just tell me.
Oh yes please!
Hah I recently came across this BT thing and remembered I've asked for it once..
Funny world
I'd love to hear the solution, I don't care messing with some system dangerous files..
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using xda premium
On ICS and JB ROMs it's possible in bluetooth settings.

Bluetooth discoverability setting No limit GB 2.3.4 and other lower android versions
Content has been removed.
this method didn't work.
The time do get changed from 120 to 0 and successfully store but the permission after reboot return to read and write
If permissions won't stay, use root explorer and on properties press "sticky", and they stay there.
However, I'd simply go for JB or ICS, who have the visibility option in settings...
rather than giving the "sticky" to anything, since it's a special permission, for which, I admit, I don't know the full impact on system.

If I helped, please press Thanks...

I have transferred the file to another device and changed everything with root explorer. This time all sticked well but these changes does not produce any effect in the stock Rom.
Regarding ICS and JB roms I haven't found one for this device yet. The ones that claim to be are just roms dressed with apps and mods to look like one. Not real ports.

What do you consider a real port? There are 4.2, 4.1 and 4.0 ports , roms, mods and Kernels all here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002349
but these aren't for Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-s5839i.....

xposed and sense 6 toolbox allow you to make it clear so you can see your home screen through it

Hey bro, Thanks for replying I'm a newbie. Will you please elaborate? I mean what is it? Is it an app? Or something like that?
And does it cause any harm to the phone? Coz in most of the HTC phones I see that Black Background. They never opt for this.
And can I undo the changes?
Thanks In Advance! Please explain me

And is rooting necessary for this? As I have mentioned earlier, I'm a newbie and I don't have much idea about rooting and don't wanna get into it. So please mention that too.
Bro, just go to Google play store and download nova launcher. Easiest way I can think of.

Yep bro, yesterday after surfing the net, I came across various Android Launchers but in the end they set-up their own themes which are quite different from Sense 6.
I just want one thing-I want to change that black background in the Menu without changing anything else! And WITHOUT ROOTING my device.
It seems as if it is impossible to do that.
Still if anybody could help, I would be very grateful
Sorry to hear that ? well I was reluctant with giving up sense 6 at the beginning but I am very satisfied with my current set up with nova launcher and it has really grown on me. Well that's just my case since I don't use BlinkFeed anyway, still if by chance I come by a solution without needing to install a new ROM I will let you know ?

Okay, call me crazy, but I am positive that that shortcut was not present before. I have the latest security patch, no root, no bootloader unlocked, no custom rom. I double pressed it and the camera launched. I don't know if it has to do with hiding the stock Sense Home screen via adb. I don't know what I did. I don't find a setting or anything in the entire system.

It also works on any screen and app. Software number varies, though.
Works with motion launch turned on or off.

Viper10 has had that for a couple of months now. It's not the first time that HTC has had "inspiration" from what custom ROMs are offering.

Well, Nexus phones have had that for a while, Samsung too (with the home button). I just find it random that it randomly appeared on my 10, no mention of it anywhere.

Now that you mention it, I remember someone on the Viper10 thread requesting it, and saying it was available on Nexus. I have never owned a Nexus phone myself; only Nexus tablets; but the new Pixel line is certainly intriguing.

It's a nice feature, fastest camera shortcut, imo. Somehow, I am the only one to have it naturally. I asked LlabTooFeR on Twitter and he doesn't know about it, said it could be a "bug".

I don't know. It randomly appeared.
But Like I said, I hid the Sense Lock Screen for it to be replaced with the AOSP Lock screen. (no root, no boot unlocking, no tricks, no hacks)

Thing is, it works on any screen, any app. I'd tie it more to the Lock screen if it only worked there, but nope. Works everywhere. I can record a video to prove it.

We have that feature in our rom.
I stumbled across this earlier in the week when I disabled the stock locksceen. It's a nice unexpected feature.

Anyone successful with getting this to stock rom?
I have only tried some apps but don't work
Yeah, I read it somewhere, it's one of the effects of disabling the HTC Lockscreen. Having the stock Android Lockscreen enables that double press shortcut.
I have a question too though, does the fingerprint scanner work on the Stock Android Lockscreen?
Question: how do I disable this feature?

EDIT: That's where to do it on the Pixel devices. I don't remember exactly where on the HTC 10, but it should be something similar (my 10 is dead now, so....)
