Best Battery Rom For Nexus? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm getting a nexus, And theres not a heap of choices of roms, but which one has the best battery?
Thanks

aokp + franco

I prefer AOKP with franco.Kernel, but in my opinion the kernel is more importan as the rom.
Best is trying out much combinations as possible.

there are lots of roms ...
if you want battery life then it's mostly about the kernel rather than the rom ...
GLaDOS kernel is the best imo most options and best battery life and it works great on any rom i prefer CM9

what about slim ics?

I have been using LiquidSmooth with Franco's kernel, and have been very happy.

[Q] What is your favorite Rom and kernel?

So I havent loaded a custom rom since the droid x and the CDMA nexus is my next baby.
I am just now getting interested in the roms again, but kernels are a little new to me... since i came from the droid x, you know.
I was gonna wait for CM9 to come, but im gonna jump ship before, so whats your favorite?
GummyNex is mine, it really comes to down to preference. I've used most of the roms on here and rootzwiki. You have some great options out there. Each rom is gonna offer you some good customization options. As for kernels I like the lean kernel or franco kernel.

cool thanks!! im not sure about how the kernels work and i just saw a ton more of roms on rootzwiki. I am thinking liquid or codename android.
Do you think i should try out different kernels and is there a method to installing them?
Wipe data/ cache, fresh after rom install or before... etc
Also, When i do wipe data cache, am i losing everything i downloaded? I did that and i feel like i erased everything...

Im using aokp 19 with Morfic trinity inferno kernel and it's been great. Lots of customization options, quick, smooth, solid battery life.
AOKP and Franco for me!

AOKP and Franco have worked wonders for me. I'm getting stellar battery life and wonderful speeds.
Another vote for aokp and franco here.
AOKP + Franco = Smooth performance and Great Battery life. Both have great devs who are constantly working to better their work.

AOKP and some kernel. I personally use Franco Kernel but look around and see what you like the most.
where can i find this rom? thanks for quick replies
Check the Dev section.
Goodluck!
Now with AOKP, use to be Slim. Both of them are great.
right now i think AOKP is the best. i used the official CM9 nightlies and there were pretty awesome, but still needs some features that i really need
Official CM9 Nightlies, Franco kernel.
Faster than the speed of light.

I'm using codename and just recently switched to francos 18.4 and now 18.6 kernel. I have zero complaints, the only thing I haven't gotten to work is Google plus hangout video chat but I haven't updated to the latest gapps yet. I bet I will try akop one day since it is so popular (maybe at milestone 4) but I have no reason to. Codename is killer smooth.

I was running ARHD but switched to the most recent CM9 nightly earlier this morning. CM9 is faaaaassst and so far no issues. Oh and I'm using the stock CM9 kernel.

When people say you have to try every from and find one for you, that's completely untrue for the galaxy nexus, once you try AOKP you won't change at least until MIUI is official for me

Definitely liking AOKP Milestone 3. Plenty stable for me, and adds some nice features not included with the stock ROM. Paired with GladOS 1.15 kernel. Butter smooth, ~3+ hours screen on time with the stock GSM battery.
apparently aokp is the boss rom

How is trinity in comparison to lean?

Why is everyone who uses AOKP suggests other kernel? Is the kernel that comes with AOKP not good enough?

I personally got best battery life and smoothness using lean kernel after testing every other kernel. Different results for different people I guess so you'll have to try kernels out yourself and see what you find best

I've just switched to the Glados Kernel found on RootzWiki with AOKP, and it's the best combination I've tried so far I think.

Liquid Smooth ROM v1.35 & Lean Kernel 3.3.0

Hi,
Can anyone give me feedback on the combo of liquid smooth rom 1.35 & lean kernel 3.3.0? I am looking for performance & battery life am not after heavy customization.
I am using stock 4.0.4 with Franco kernel 3.0.8 M2 and am getting about 3.5 screen on and 12 hours usage before I have to plug in.
Will the above combo give a better battery life?
Thanks

Personally, I use LeanKernel Stables exclusively.
They've always been the most fluent and the best on battery for me.
Haven't tried Liquid in probably two months...
But the users still vouch for it.
You'll have to try and find out.
However, the rom itself shouldn't have much impact on battery...
It's primarily kernel based.
So maybe you should try flashing LeanKernel on your current set-up and see if you like it.
The killer combination , Liqsmooth customization options + apex pro + lean kernel 3.3.0 exp 4 230 is just heavenly .
I will not compare between franco and lean but somehow i always manage to flash Lean after a rom upgrade ...
Used LS with lean kernel got 4+ screen time ..... good combination (telling from my personal experience)

+ don't forget to apply the GPS fix on Liquid Smooth if your flashing the lastest 1.35.

There is no best.
It all depends on your needs and wants.
Try them all and decide yourself.
Otherwise you're just gonna get what everyone likes.

Surely somebody has a recommendation though right? I'm also curious being that I just got the phone today. Does anyone have a favorite because of maybe battery life or certain features?
AndroidME + Franco Kernel seems to work really well for me in terms of battery life & performance
I guess as of now 'the' best is bigxie Odexed Rom (JRO03C) + Trinity Kernel..... (Simple,Stock,Clean)
Will give a try to MiNCO ROM when its v2 is available...., also need to try BAMF Paradigm v2.0....(good reviews)
I'm loving Android Revolution HD, used it on my amaze and now this, its an amazing ROM, like improved stock, no problems whatsoever! Definitely try em all out though, these developers work really hard and they all do an awesome job!

Which version of Trinity Kernel do you use. I'm concerned about the cpu&gpu overclock.
i used bigxie Odexed Rom (JRO03C) + franco r225 and now i'm on MinCo v1...undoubtedly MinCo is better...

Fastest kernel for 4.2.1 Aokp

Running 4.2.1 AOKP on verizon galaxy nexus (toro) , wondering which stable kernel is recomended for more speed?
does it matter?
I use the Franco kernel but have tried several. I honestly don't think there is a huge difference among most. Overclocking to me is pointless since ultimately it is the ram more than anything else which reflects speed and we are all stuck at 1 gig of ram. This phone is still a beast and more importantly has more customized Roms than any other device.
Give a try to Lean kernel. It serve me well. Battery saving and good performance.

I've tried most of them. I liked Trinity but am on stock kernel again and getting better battery life than with any other. Your call though. All of them seemed okay.
tried most of them it was a tie between trinity and franco for me but i was getting SODs on trinity so ended up sticking with franco.. using r348 atm
