[Q] How to Disconnect charging from USB Cable - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

I'm sorry if this question already asked before
When we connect SGW through cable data to PC the charging process is automatically.
I tried to stop it, so when we connect to PC with USB cable no more charging process on our device.
The process could damage the digitizer if we connect it or charge our device through cable data because the PC voltage wasn't stable.
So, how I can stop the charging process whenever I connect SGW to PC with cable data?

There is no way u can disable it by using soft-approach. The only way should be physically removing the DC in wire in the cable.

I would suggest you try to fix your computer before modifying any cables, as you say it is the computers fault.

usb requires dc voltage, so if you remove/damage dc+ or gnd wire the connection on bus will simply not work, had such an experience with one old chinese mini-usb cable..
but with only 2 contacts (dc+ and gnd w/o D+ and D-) charge is ok

Charge and connect USB controller

So ICS supports USB gamepads/mice/keyboards which is awesome. The only problem is that the Galaxy Nexus only has one available USB port.
How can I connect a USB device to the gnex and charge it simultaneously?
Powered USB hub.
I see how that could work, however I want as little bulk as possible, and a USB hub would add a lot of clutter.
That got me thinking though.
Would there be any problem with charging and playing using this diagram?

It isn't going to work, since the usb port on a nexus only can do one thing at a time: charging/being a slave (transferring files from a pc) or act as a host (for a keyboard/mouse/gamecontroller). This will not work together until a kernel dev finds/creates a workaround.

Usb OTG supports accessory/charge mode, but the cable has to have the correct id for the usb chip to allow it. I don't think any cables have this enabled as of yet.

This cable won't suffice?
http://www.amazon.com/T-Flash-Adapt..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1337812370&sr=1-1
If not, what has to be done to enable this?
Also, does this mean the powered USB hub won't work either?

I have a feeling that even if charging works (and I think it should) it will only charge at 500mA as I doubt OTG will work properly if you enable Fast USB charge. At the very least your battery won't die out quickly I guess, depending on the game's requirements hardware wise.
I'll try it out tonight if I can find my damn OTG cable.
Confirmation: Does not work.
Found my cable, and connected the phone to a powered usb hub. It actually would not charge OR read a thumb drive with stick mount. Both worked seperately, but the OTG is not a multitasker. Sorry.

I have a Sony DK10 LiveDock, which has it's USB port connected to an Aten US421A USB switch, which is connected to a Targus 7 port powered Hub.
As the Targus 7 port hub is independently powered, it'll support any Sony (LT26i) supported device.
And I have some weird stuff connected like a 80GB IDE FAT32 USB enclosed HDD and/or your bog standard WD 320GB USB HDD (FAT32), a DELL U2410 monitor with SDcard reader and a HP 8GB v165w USB flash drive.
So stuff does work, BUT, if you're independently powering this off your Sony microUSB port on your phone you will have to match the power output of the phone with the power requirement of the attached device.
USB2.0 is spec'd at 5V and 5x100mA units.
WD USB HDD requires V5 0.55A to run and we know they're not supported
It is possible(I don't know) that the output of the Sony LT26i MicroUSB is only around ~300mA and thus devices attempting to draw more power will not work. It could be as low as 100mA.
I have a HP 8GB v165w flash drive and that doesn't work directly connected to the Sony (LT26i), but does work when connected through a powered USB hub. So if one knew it's power draw, then one could work out what the Sony (LT26i) is providing.

No AC Charging

Please help me to revive my lovely desire.
Problem:
It doesnt matter wich ac adapter i use it only uses usb speed.
I tried flash ChromiumOS yesterday and tried a backup from my old vijendrahs cm10.1 v6.3.
=> It's not the rom.
I used two different batterys...
(But they have only 20% capacity left...)
When did the problem occurs?
I charge my desire with an battery pack and then the battery pack gone flat and a few minutes after this the desire shut down.
Since this incident my desire didn't load in ac mode anymore...

The problem might be caused my the Plug to USB adapter. Do you have another one of these things lying around?

Win7 can't detecte Epic, Can't access internal drive, but it charge

Get 4 Samsung Epic 4G Touch here. 2 of them can detect by Win7, Charge, access internal memory, able to flash in Download mode. USB debug on. etc.
And another 2, they take Charge the battery. Win7 can't detect it. Can't flash in Download mode. Can't access internal memory from PC. I'm sure Driver installed correctly. If not, why anther 2 phone detected.
I have tried different USB cable. Some detect and sometime do. Is it USB connecter or USB cable inside the phone get bad?
I clear up usb connecter and maybe I'll heat gun to heat up the usb connector and usb chip and let you guy know.
This question probable won't be answered because You're in the wrong category.
I suppose I can give you my 2 cents. I have had two of these phones and on both the port on the phone has gone bad.

I'm sure it's not the driver Ryan.. It's bad USB port... most hardware related.
Anyone have advice or guide of easy way to change USB port without soldering??
Sounds like a bad charging port.
You can't really change the charging port without soldering. If you don't have the ability to change it yourself i'd suggest looking for a repair service, there are some on ebay.
Good luck!

Strange behavior after connect USBC cable or car charger on A50

Hello everyone,
I just discovered that my wife's Samsung Galaxy A50 with brand from Orange Poland is very strange phone and probably have something wrong.
Found two issues with him:
Connect in car: after connect to car charger [key car is disconnected] it's power on radio and other devices in car [for example dash cam],
Connect to PC: direct connect by good quality USB-C <--> USB-C don't work - device it's not discovered by PC, or even loading
I also have a second A50, but without brand from mobile operator, and old A8-2018 and both those phones don't do this - don't power car electricity and are visible by PC on USB-C <--> USB-C connection.
What I did so far - was:
factory reset
download last firmware from SamMobile for Orange and apply it
clean up USB-C port in device
Unfortunately non of above don't fix issues.
What is working on her phone:
Device is loading by ac adapter
Device is also discovered by PC when connect by USB --> USB-C cable
I'm downloading from SamMobile image without brand - and will check it afternoon, but maybe someone from you was have those issues like this?
I'm can't attaching picture with cleaned USB-C ports on both devices and videos what this behavior look like because - I'm to new on forum
Did you checked which device control the other? I mean, there is an option, and maybe your phone is trying to control your car's computer.
My opinion about the PC issues is, maybe try the original cable, or type c <->type a, or other computer.
Sorry for poor english, and if I am wrong.
Use Your Samsung warranty and go to Samsung center in Poland for free diagnose. You can get hour appointment by call to choosen samsung Center. I think that You usb charger module in phone can be damaged. Typical Samsung diecease.
Thanks for responses. I was today on Samsung store and they take it for diagnose. I'm little aftraid only that this isssue is not so obvious and could be hard to find.
