Is there a way to set the wallpapers without cropping them? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Everywhere I read says that GNex has a 1440x1280 res for wallpapers but even if they're the exact size, gallery wants to crop them. What is the real resolution of the homescreens? Or is there a way to set the wp without cropping?

Thank you! Exactly what I've been looking for

Ahh, it still crops it, plus the quality is lower. Isn't it somehow possible to make some kind of a mod to the original gallery cropper or something else to make it the proper way?

So... you're looking for a "proper cropper"?

If you have a 1440x1280 image then you can upload it to an image host, go to your phones browser, go to the link of the hosted image, long press -> set as wallpaper.
Good for when you don't need to crop.

How To Make Wallpaper Scrollable in Sense 3 ROM?

Like title says, was wondering how to make the wallpaper scroll with the home screens like it used to in stock Ginger Sense.
I've tried looking through Personalize and Display and Gallery settings, and can't find anything related to making the wallpaper scroll like it used to.
So when i go to set a wallpaper, it just makes me resize an image to be very skinny and tall.
Thanks in advance!

Sense 3 uses a static background image because of the endless scroll carousel feature of the launcher. This allows the launcher to be scrolled in one direction for an infinite number of loops.

Hmm interesting to know. Thanks though!

Which is odd they can't do it, cause launcher pro has scrolling background and working smooth endless scroll

The only reason I can see they didnt do it is when you look at LP is kinda lags when you go back to the other side. It would do that on sense too but with the carousel spinning it might crash it or be way to laggy to be appealing.

Sense 3 correct sizing wallpaper app
Hiya!
For correct sizing I use an app called AutoResize Wallpaper. Its brilliant! It allows you to set your full pic as the wallpaper. No more cropping for sense 3. To apply just choose a pic from your gallery, press 'share‘ button then Autoresize wallpaper and it does it all itself. Its free from the market too

Setting a wallpaper on Note II?

I am noticing the wallpaper degrades quality when you set them for home screen. I used to have the same on my S2, then I found Wallpaper Wizardii and setting a wallpaper via it fixed the problem in S2, but not in this phone.
Just see this photo and set it as wallpaper and then see it in gallery, look closely, I think you'll understand what I'm saying.

I could be wrong but the height of the image you are trying to use is incorrect. Plus I'm sure that when you view an image in the gallery it scales so you can view the image in it's entirety vs when you set a wallpaper it does not do the same.

It doesn't. Also , Galaxy S2's res is 800x480 , and the Note 2's is 1280x720 which is considerably bigger, so the same wallpapers will look ugly. Try some HD wallpapers from wallbase.cc , they all look awesome.

Actually I haven't used this wall on S2. And yes,I know Note 2's screen resolution. And that wallpaper is way over HD in resolution.
What I meant is the same looks awesome inside gallery but when I set it as wall it degrades. It was a known bug in Android afaik, that's why applications like Wallpaper Wizardii came out but as I said WW isn't working as it worked on the S2.

try this one instead of WW:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...50YW1hbmVnaS53YWxscGFwZXIubXVsdGlwaWN0dXJlIl0.
Just make sure you adjust the settings to force a still image as your wallpaper.
Image 2 Wallpaper is the way to go to fix this. Great app.

It's indeed a great app but didn't work for this wallpaper.
Anyway, I'll keep it, but I wonder if it uses same method as WW.

Nexus 7 V2 wallpaper size

Hi,
Could please someone with root extract wallpapers from Nexus 7 V2? I would like to find ideal size, I know it is near 2160x1920 but it is not this size actually. I can still move this box when setting wallpaper.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm, seems too wide.
It's not. If you want the picture to fit without cropping that's the size you need.

Okay, so I found image of this size and tried to set it as wallpaper but there is still some space left and I can't extend the box. Please look at attachment.
Just use the Multipicture Live Wallpaper, you can set only one picture and it fits the screen without cropping. Theres a lot of other features too like setting one picture for each screen or make it change pictures over time. its pretty good and its free
