Anybody testet this with the SGS2? http://www.polar.fi/en/products/accessories/Polar_WearLink_transmitter_with_Bluetooth
Yes, it's working perfectly! I use it with Endomondo
Suggestions on where to buy cheapest?
Not so expensive....

Thanks. Very mixed reviews? Seems to be some problems with connections? What are your experiences?

Hi borchgrevink,
this is my first post on XDA but I think I can help you about Polar HRM.
I bought it some months ago and sometimes it gives me issues about BT pairing. Searching on the net and on the Polar official forums, it seems there are some devices with hardware problems. In a post, the official Polar support suggests to take advantage of the guarantee and request a replacement of faulty devices. I'll request a replacement next week, too.
Can I give you a suggestion? Take a Zephyr bluetooth HRM and you'll not worry about pairing/connection issues. It works with Runtastic (my favourite), Endomondo, Runkeeper and all other fitness software with hrm support.
Thanks for the help!

Don't buy the polar!
I have a Polar wearlink+ and it's not usable because it loses the bluetooth connection every 5 minutes and then it becomes a nightmare to reconnect. Pretty much useless.

Xperia SOLA
Hello all,
I bought a Xperia Sola and I can´t connect with my Polar bluetooth wearlink. Before I use a HTC Wildfire S without any problems. It seems to be a problem with kernel 3.0.8 (+).
Can someone help with solving this???

Thanks for that - problen solved!
A Haicom 303MMF GPS unit for £79 into the XDA CF add on device and I am away!
XDA CF add on device??? is that or the XDA1 or XDA2??
XDA 11 but I just realised it needs the SD slot meaning no room for the software
Looks like it will have to be a tom tom bluetooth kit - bulkier but I guess I can keep tthe GPS bit in my pocket!
Gary
The XDA II CF Jacket won't physically accept most of the CF GPS units on the market. Best bet is to update the ROM on your XDA II to properly support BT GPS units and use a decent Bluetooth Model.
The most popular / tested Bluetooth GPS on the XDA range is the Qstarz BT-Q818

Haven't really tried it but the Sony sales guy said it should work on all androids with bluetooth by simply installing the software.

I had one as acessory to my galaxy tab... Every thing worked as expected... For a while.. What happens is that android droppes the connection in sleep.. So you havto reconnect the lv all the time. This makes it useless... It died after three months... Just would not wake up any more... And i could not find the receipt, so no replacement....
However i dont know if they fixed the reconnect issue... This was six months ago...

Hi,
I have one from amazon.de for about €25. I have played with it for 2 or 3 weeks but then I have bored. Disconnection issue is very annoying. You can use a program for it (for $0.99) and it can fix a lot of disconnection issues but not totally. I wanted to be noticed for calls, messages with it but it haven't worked as I expect...
There are 2 or more topics here about it, you can search but it is a little disappointment for me...
Hope this helps.
Bought one a couple of months ago, played with it 20 minutes then putted it back in its box.
After reading your post, I gave another try and...it works like a charm with the soft available on the Market. Mp3 player (stock samsung) control is ok, sms, incoming calls... I do not use FB or Twitter, so don't know if it's ok with this.
I do not have issue with connection (maybe because I played just 20 minutes again)

guys any conformation whether it works with the note?
It works on my Note (running Criskelo's LPY), except for any external plug-ins. Thats seems to be an ICS problem of the SE software for Android.
You also 'need' LiveView Manager ($$) to keep it up-to-date after your Note disconnects to save energy. Remark: it polls, so it's not really 'live'.
And you're right, it's on sale and a nice gadget.
Sony has a firmware update for the little thing when you install their Update Service Software and you put it in dowload mode.
So anybody else tried this on the note and updated the software sothat it does not disconnect looks good and would be handy for my work if it worked the way they say and amazon has it for £20 if its the same thing also notice that sony has a liveview 2 coming soon dropped the Ericsson
I have the orginal smart watch and its works fine with ICS LPY (non rooted) on my note and the watch is fully up to date.
It does drop connection now and again if you dont use it for a while. Its still no perfect but it works ok for me.

I recently bought this phone and found that there are problems with Bluetooth, I've tried to transfer files to other HTC One V, and its not working, even after getting devices paired, files are not transferring.
I am looking for any patch to solve this problem.
Hey even I've faced this problem and was really frustrated! But for me the Bluetooth transfer worked flawlessly after i switched my WiFi off. Guess its probably due to the Bluetooth - WiFi interference. Hope they fix it soon.

Guys this is happening because of bluetooth version 4.0. Most of the devices are not compatible with this one. You will have to download a bluetooth manager app from Google Play shop to resolve this.

Hey,
I am facing peculiar issue with bluetooth, file transfer is working fine, but when I pair my HTC one V with my headset it doesn't work at all.
The same headset is working in all other mobiles including HTC one x.
Is anyone facing same issue like this.
Is there any fix available for the same.

I'm pretty sure HTC and the chip company took it into account. Now it's possible they made some errors and a software update might fix it.
Can anyone tell me the manufacturer of the WiFi/Bluetooth chip and if it does FM too ?
EDIT: A ROM indicates Broadcom BCM4330 in /system/etc/firmware. This is one of a new generation of Broadcom combination chips that I've seen to be sensitive enough to even decode RDS with no earphone plugged in as an antenna.
The One X and One S are using a Qualcomm chip, which is a big departure from the TI and Broadcom chips HTC used in the past.
If someone could send a log from my app there's info about that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26102918&postcount=3
Thanks !
The H1S has a Qualcomm BT chip, the H1X has a BT chip from TI.
Looks like the H1V is on the older and you would hope more reliable Broadcom chipset, the 4330 is used in many other AOSP phones.

That's interesting...
So the H1S is the only HTC device with the Qualcomm chip then... ?
But then why does the teardown for the One X say it has that Qualcomm chip ? : http://www.techrepublic.com/photos/cracking-open-the-htc-one-x/6363151?seq=54
There's an AT&T variant that has a hidden FM app, but I'm not sure it's the same chip as the International H1X with NVidia Tegra.
The Qualcomm chip is the baseband/modem for the phone, not the Bluetooth/Wifi module.

A phone can have more than one Qualcomm chip.
Qualcomm is a chip manufacturer, and they make SOCs, as well as BT/WiFi/FM chips.
They've also acquired other companies, such as Atheros, adding to their chips portfolio.
This One X teardown: http://www.techrepublic.com/photos/cracking-open-the-htc-one-x/6363151?seq=54
Says this: "Qualcomm WCN3660 dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM radio combo chip (WCN3660 PFN634G6 A201002)"
And here's a press release for that chip: http://www.qualcomm.com/media/relea...ghly-integrated-connectivity-solution-superio

Here is something intresting, I read an article on wikipedia about bluetooth 4.0 and got to know that its actually a downgrade in terms of its functioning. Bluetooth 4.0 is also called as Bluetooth low energy, designed to consume less power from battery, and some of the major features are-
(A) Its speed is less than classical bluetooth.
(B) Its latency is less.
(C) Its range is greater.
(D) It is not voice capable (which means BT headset won't work)
Check out the whole comparision table and more info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_low_energy

Hi i have my new SGS3 and i am very happy with it.
But because it is new, not all accessoirs will work with it.
I search a training belt, which allow me, to messure my heart rate.
There are 2 on the market, which SHOULD work.
1. The Polar WearLink+
and
2. Zephyr HxM.
The Polar should work, but aso should have connection problems, many disconnects etc...
I Dont't get a review for the zephyr with the sgs3. I e-mailed the support of zephyr they answered:
Falk,
To be honest I am not familiar with that phone.
If on the Android market then there should not be a problem.
Thank you,
that doesn't help.....
So does anyone use one of this belts for training (walking?)
how does them work?
Best regards,

I'm looking at getting the Zephyr HxM but i have the same questions although my phone is the Galaxy Nexus on jelly bean 4.1.1
Hi!
I own both of those belts. The Polar one didn't work at first so I got the Zephyr too. The Zephyr works without a problem, no loss of connection or any other problem. The Polar should work if you have the latest firmware updates installed, that's what I read a user state on another forum (just be sure not to get the H7-version, that one only works with iphone...) but I haven't tried it since I got the Zephyr.

Hello,
After long 4 years without participate on XDA-Developers I'm back.
I retired my HTC Wizard and bought a HTC One X.
Great smartphone !
Now I bought a scanner ELM 327 OBDII Bluetooth and I'm trying to run with Torque software on my car.
The point is that Torque connect with HTC, but some features from the software doesn't work, I mean, some display/graphs keep on zero (freezing).
Searching on Torque forum, the explanation is that HTC has a bluetooth bug.
Is there any alternative or solution for my problem ?
Thank you inadvance.
Best regards,
Cássio
Any Help ??
Hello all,
I'm still facing problems.
Today I removed all bluetooth devices listed @ One X and paried just the scanner to guarantee no interference from another device.
No changes.
Torque software just showed RMP display updating with other display freezed.
If no alternative were found, I'll get back my money and send back the scanner.
Is there any tip ?
Tks,
Cássio
Is your elm327 faulty. They are known to be poor.
I also have one that works perfectly fine with the one x but the adapter has since started to fail on occasion.
It connects and pulls everything fine using torque.
Rpm
Speed
Turbo psi
Fuel levels etc...
All functioning fine

Bagofcrap24,
Tks for your reply !
I believe I'm facing problems on ELM 327 or there is no compatibility between ELM 327 and my Citroen Xsara N7.
Did you have an bluetooth drive upgrade on One X to allow Torque run properlly ?
Regards,
Cássio
No its always worked out of the box for me.
Just paired and its been fine since.
I did have issues with it only reading a couple of pids on my old Citroen c5 so it might be a Citroen thing

Look in adapter status part on torque while its connected.
It should tell you if your adapter is having errors communicating with your car
