Where abouts I'd the folder.
If if it's on sd card then check what data is in it then yes delete it.
If it is needed it will automatically be made again on reboot.
If in system files then do a backup then delete if phone goes wrong or acts strange you can always but back

It's on the root of the sd card and it's full of video ads and png files probably from games I've downloaded. It's before the .android folder.

No... I have to put the APK installer file into internal memory... Not after installing.... Is b4 installing
In the basic sense of the question, it means just put the APK "NOT" within the sdcard or any folders under it. I think this only possible if you're rooted.
In any case, I wonder why there's such requirement. APK is just an installer and even in the sdcard level it should work or run. Then when you install, default is the app will be placed in the INTERNAL memory. That should be what you wanted.
Maybe tick the unknown sources option if its not already?

I suppose that's what i will do also even if doing so sounds strange. If still don't work probably its a bad apk. Try it on another device or look for another source.

test using titanium, so you can integrate the game to system, it can work maybe
For what purpose?
i have a *ahem" game called "Spectral Souls"....
but i can't install~
You can put it to system/app with Root Explorer if a install from sd card doesn't work.

Is there a way that you can remove certain HTC Widgets from the phone to free up some of the memory? Can I use es file manager and go to /system/app and just delete apk's from there or will that cause problems? Thanks
Sent from my AT100 using Tapatalk
If you've rooted, yeah you might be able to do that. I think you'd need to root to access the system files (not sure, don't know about phones just thinking logically) and then it should be possible.
Rooted - File Explorer - System mount - delete those Files with the ending widget.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S A510e using Tapatalk
Yes you can.
I would use titanium backup.
And backup before deleting so if you run into issues you can restore individual apps.
Although es file will do just fine, just make sure in the es settings to give root access and mount file system.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread but it's kinda relevant.
I tried installing a few additional widgets through HTC Hub. The downloads were successful but the install wasn't. And this took up some (large actually) amount of space off my internal.
So, what do I delete and from where to get rid of these unwanted files? I don't really care about it not being installed, just don't want it bloating up my memory space. Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.
I'm sorry but Bump.
Any help would be appreciated with the above issue?
They should be installed to
/system/app. if your are using apps2sd with your Rom, look under /system/sd/app. Just look for the name of the widget u downloaded and delete it from there. I use es file explorer. U must go into its settings and allow root explorer and mount, to be able to do this. Also try wiping your dalvik cache in cwm.

Change view mode to view hidden folder. See if that file is present in .Trash folder.
Usually when you delete files in file manager, it is moved to Trash folder similar to Recycle Bin or Linux Trash.

Mod delete when can
Night_Slayer said:
Hello there everyone, I was scrolling through my storage using androzip, when I found this folder called "Discover new apps." I found it weird as I never saw this before and when I tried deleting it....it just won't delete . I tried wiping the internal sd card and using the external as a restore from a way earlier backup and sadly to say it's still there...

Don't worry, it's just a feature in the file manager. It's not a file which is inside your internal or external sd card. It's just in the file manager.
