Please help! - HTC One X

EDIT: It started up fine somehow now O.O
BUT I still have a question: Would it be possible to return it and get a full refund if it has no defects?

[Q] Hardware warranty voided by root? (screen stopped working!)

So my screen went out on me and they are sending me a new phone, if the screen won't come on at all, I am unable to unroot (some people may be able to do it all through ADB but I am not one of them, unfortunately).
My concern is, once they get this phone mailed back to them, are they going to fix the screen, see it's rooted, and then charge me the fee of like $250? If so, I'd rather just purchase a new phone outright then pay another couple hundred for this one...
Thanks.

Thanks! I sure hope this holds true.

[Q] I hard bricked my phone, now what?

I just got the gs3 on black friday and rooted it without any problems but on my first attempt to flash a new rom, i bricked it by flashing an international rom. I paniced and figured sprint probably wouldn't be able to detect that i was ever rooted and returned the next day. Sprint as i suspected was not able to tell what was wrong with it other than it seemed completely dead when the tech hooked it up and tried to fix it. So they gave me another phone and said they were going to just flag it as defective. Now my question is what is gonna happen with that phone? I would assume there is a way for samsung to find out what happened to the phone but i really don't know and thought it couldn't hurt to ask around in the forums. Please if anyone can help me, thank you in advance.

more than likely nothing is going to happen.
Well then i suppose i just got damn lucky lol.... just for future reference, is the only way to recover from flashing an international rom with a jig right?

No. You cannot recover from this with a jig. The only recovery is jtag; which I think is available for $60.00 for the S3. The jig is completely worthless in this situation.

Sprint doesn't have a policy against rooting/roms. You are fine.

I'd imagine they'll run a reformat to all the correct partitions and send it out as a refurb.

[Q] Touch Screen Problem after replacing- how to recalibrate?

Hi Guys,
I have recently cracked my HTC WFS touch screen and got it replaced from a local retailer. After replacing , the screen's top most part is not responding properly. I mean, If i try to power on the WI-Fi using the notification drawer , it is selecting something else (may be a message that is kept unread in the notification drawer). The guy who repaired it told me that it is not a hardware issue but a software issue. He told me that recalibrating will fix this. For this purpose, I have flashed a ROM (Wild child 3 - thinking this is almost same as the stock ROM) and still i have that issue. Please help me on how can i recalibrate the display and thus solve the issue mentioned above.
Thanks
I have seen this thread and sadly nobody answered it. Hence adding a new thread with more info.
Send it back, it's definitely a hardware issue.

Thanks a lot for the response guys
Hi @omnomnomkimiiee, The seller himself told me that this ain't a hardware problem and I have to calibrate this again for this to work . But i don't think that this is a calibration issue, since all other parts of the touch screen is working fine. Only a particular part is not working. So, i guess this could be a hardware issue. Please correct me if I am wrong and Thanks a lot for the response friends

You should most definitely have him take it back. You trusted him with it to replace a broken screen, and he returned it with a broken digitizer.

If you're asking that question, then I'd say no, you probably can't fix it and shouldn't purchase it.
Thanks I haven't bought it

[Q] {NEED HELP} Just bought Note 2 4G and it wont turn on at all

Hey guys
I live in New Zealand and recently found a Note II N7105 off Trademe (NZ's equivalent to ebay) and received it earlier today only to find it doe s not power on or charge at all. the photos and description show that it was working before it was sent but it is essentially dead. now i know that i should do my research before posting this question and i have to no avail and have realised it is one of two problems:
1. either the phone is totally dead or,
2. it does not charge properly
there is no sign of life and i have tried multiple chargers in multiple power sockets and have left it to charge for a while and still nothing
if anyone can give me some help as to whether i should get a refund or whether its a cheap fix, please please please let me know ASAP as i have been REALLY excited for this phone and would like to solve the problem as soon as possible
thanks to anyone that can help, cheers

If ur phone does not start, nothing can be done. Also I guess it is essentially a hardware problem.
Anyways, (unless u have screwed up the phone by urself)why do u want to fix it urself? Just get the refund or replacement.
