Hi all,
I'm looking at flashing ARHD. I've read through the instructions at least 20 times but I'm unsure of just a few things and want to be 100% before trying this as there are a heaps of people who seem to have bricked by not following instructions properly.
As I understand, the process is as follows.......
1. Download super wipe zip and place it on SD card.
2. Download rom and place on SD card.
3. Download firmware package and un-rar.
4. Download 'Official Clockworkmod Touch Recovery 5.8.3.1'
5. Disable antivirus protection on PC.
6. Ensure ADB drivers are installed correctly on PC.
7. Unlock Bootloader via HTC-dev
8. Boot phone in to bootloader and enter Fastboot Mode
9. Install "recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.3.1-endeavoru.img" via fastboot
command in ADB console.
10. Boot in to the newly installed recovery and perform a nandroid backup.
11. Reboot phone into bootloader and enter Fastboot mode.
12. Run "install-boot-windows.bat' as administrator to install the new firmware
13. Reboot and enter recovery mode.
14. Using the newly installed recovery, flash the
"Android_Revolution_HD_Super_Wipe_One_X.zip" on the SD card.
15. While still in recovery, flash the Android Revolutipn ROM zip.
16. Reboot and enjoy.
Have I missed anything there and is this in the correct order?
At what point does the PJ46IMG.zip need to be installed? The instructions for this are unclear.
Also, in the event something goes wrong and the phone doesn't boot (but i can get into recovery mode), can I just flash the backup file? Or does the fact that I've overwritten the boot.img via Fastboot mean that I can't restore the backup without flashing a stock boot.img via fastboot first?
Thanks and sorry to be a n00b. I'm just finding the order a little mismatched moving between various threads and want to be 100% sure.
Cheers.
You'll be fine. Both Firmware 1.26 and 1.28 is OK with arhd.
On going back to your nandroided stock rom, flash your stock boot.img then restore stock nandroid.
Sent either from my Arc or One X using xda premium
Remember to flash boot.img before the rom
I got my One X yesterday, did all you did BUT, after step 11. nandroid backup, I did these: Nandroid -> Super wipe -> Flash boot.img -> Flash ARHD 3.1.0 and everything works fine

I am currently on cm 10 and I want to go back to stock for a while....I did make a backup in twrp.
what is the easiest way to restore from backup?
on another note I was interested in viper ROM but I don't think my boot is high enough...is that a big deal?
Thanks
OK I found the following but stuck on #3 and 4. I want to keep it unlocked and rooted
1. Boot in to recovery and restore Nandroid backup of original ROM
2. Flash stock boot.img extracted from RUU via fastboot (or boot.img from backup directory on SD card)
3. Flash stock recovery via fastboot (or recovery.img from backup directory on SD card)
4. relock bootloader via fastboot
5. Reboot phone and stock ROM will be recovered
6. Download and install OTA.
Then you're done.

You can keep it unlocked and rooted, only you loose the root after updating to stock JB. And the bootloader does NOT have to be locked.
When you are done updating you can easily reroot the phone. I don't see the big deal there......
[Q] Wanting to update to 4.4.3 I'm rooted with twrp but got stock recovery & nandroid
I've had the Vodafone HTC One M8 a little over a month now and as in the title, I'm rooted with twrp.
I've got a stock recovery from here and a stock nandroid from here which match CID VODAP001 / 1.54.161.10. I want to return to stock recovery and install the nandroid backup to allow me to be able to get the 4.4.3 OTA update. I'm currently s-on so I have done some research and gathered that this is a problem with wanting to get OTAs and returning to stock. My hboot version is 3.16.0.0000.
Where do I start with the stock recovery and nandroid? I'm currently using a macbook if it is needed for anything during the process.
What I want at the end of this is to be on a rooted htc one m8 with 4.4.3, is this possible and how do I accomplish this?
If you need anymore information/version numbers which can help me get to my goal, I'll be happy provide, but I think everything which is needed should be there up above.
Thanks for reading this, and I hope you have an awesome day .
1. extract the backup zip then transfer the backup folder to your sdcard or external_sd (depends on which your TWRP is set up to) TWRP/BACKUPS/YourDeviceSerialNo/FOLDER here
2. Reboot to recovery, restore that backup
3. Reboot to bootloader/fastboot mode, fastboot flash the stock recovery.
Never use a Mac so not sure how the command is ... should be the same how you flash the TWRP, something like ./fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. Reboot and check the OTA and install
5. Complete .. reboot to recovery
6. flash TWRP again
7. install SuperSU
8. Done .. you have a 4.4.3 with root (as your aim is a stock rooted 4.4.3)

Yes the nandroid was ment by backup. You can get it in the backup collection thread.
If you've read carefuly you have seen that the OP of this thread is S-On as well and the guideline provided took this into account. Thus it will work for you as well
Hi there,
I own a HTC One M8 which I purchased locally from Singapore. My software version has the .707. code.
Recently, when I received an OTA update to my phone I was unable to update it, the phone would go to the update screen and the green bar would load halfway before changing to the screen of a phone with a red triangle.
I had previously unlocked my phone using HTC Dev. I then flashed SuperSu to root my phone. I am now unable to get rid of SuperSu from my phone but was able to lock my phone using the instructions from HTC Dev with the "re-locked" logo on my stock recovery, which I was able to flash back onto my phone. Although SuperSu is on my phone, it does not work and root checker tells me that my phone is not rooted. My phone is also S-On.
I was foolish enough to not create a nandroid backup before beginning this process.
So if anyone has any instructions on how to revert my phone to complete stock or any advice, please tell me.
Thanks for your help!
What's your current version ?
Check here for the x.xx.707.x nandroid backup : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
Steps
1. unlock bootloader (you don't need to relock bootloader to proceed OTA)
2. install TWRP recovery
3. restore nandroid backup
4. flash stock recovery
5. reboot and do the OTA

I think he might have meant the TWRP backup files. Once he has flashed TWRP and loaded the files onto the folder he can't see it in the restore button/directory.

Make sure you unpacked the nandroid backup that you downloaded i.e unzip it and place it in the correct directory on your device. It'll be something like ... TWRP/Backups/serialnum/ <<Just put in serial number for your device.
Else if you don't know how, just quickly go into TWRP and make a backup of any file "boot" for example, that way TWRP will automatically create the path on the device for you. Remove the back up file only leaving the path in place then unzip the nandroid backup and place it in the directory TWRP gave to you.
Boot into recovery and restore the nandroid backup. When that is finished you flash the stock recovery back, as mentioned above by flyera, of course I'm saying that with the assumption that you already have adb + drivers installed on your computer.
I had to re-read a few times but I think you are right. The original post indicates that he must be familiar with adb and recovery installation. Good explanation..
Basically I'm stuck. Phone won't boot.....I can get to the white screen/bootloader.
It had a custom recovery on it (TWRP) so wonuldn't update....I followed a video to put the stock recovery on it.
I've downloaded a few files, stock recovery, stock boot etc.....put on sd card but no joy. It says reading sd card.....then "no image or wrong image"
In all honesty i'm so lost...Has anyone ever over come this???

What are you trying to do in the first place?
If you're going to flash a custom rom, place the rom in your SD card or internal storage, do a full wipe and install the rom.
If you're returning to stock for OTA, restore your nandroid backup (system, kernel etc) after which flash your stock recovery and do a reset from settings than search for OTA.
If you can't boot into recovery, flash the latest TWRP on your phone through fastboot. Use the commands: fastboot flash boot boot.img

It had a custom recovery on it Team win recovery project......which was stopping the software from updating.
So tried to put the stock recovery back on it.
At the moment I don't think its corresponding properly with my laptop......in the fastboot menu it does come up "fastboot usb" Drivers are installed too
But when trying to send it commands via command prompt it keeps saying device not found.
I'm wondering if it has deleted to operating system , as on the fastboot menu next to " OS - it says nothing "
Sorry for being brief....this is the first time i've ever come across all this stuff

I tried the following and it solved, but all data losted (make sure backup first):
1. download latest htc_fastboot.exe (version 3.0.8a)
2. download A55ML_DTUL_L50_SENSE70_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.45.707.2_Images.zip
3. c:\adb\adb reboot bootloader, then choose download mode:
a. c:\adb\htc_fastboot flash reovery recovery.img
b. c:\adb\htc_fastboot flash system system.img
c: c:\adb\htc_fastboot flash boot boot.img
4. reboot and get ota update 1.45.707.5, let the phone run update itself
5. c:\adb\htc_fastboot flash recovery twrp_e9pw_2.8.6.0_en.img to get TWRP
6. reboot recovery and flash UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip to get rooted.
7. download SuperSU at Google play.
I am in similar situation now with HTC One ME (aka One M9ew: rooted with SuperSu, TWRP, Xposed installed) and want to install recent OTA - few questions:
1) is your zip file the original stock HBOOT zip or already the OTA?
2) would it be enough to flash boot.img and recovery.img from the OTA (not from original stock HBOOT file) to enable the OTA update?
3) if 2) is not working from OTA, would it work from stock HBOOT file but also avoiding system.img or is it necessary to flash stock system.img in any case?
about backups:
I did full nandroids (via TWRP) and Titanium backups (saved on external SD card)
question:
4) will the restore via nandroid override the OTA update?
Many thanks!
