[Q]Wifi unable to connect to wifi after root. - HTC Wildfire S

So, I just did my first root using youtube.com/ watch?v=UqCk2NiHTTg, and update-cm-7.2.0-RC1-marvel-KANG-signed.zip+ gapps.zip
I now have an unlocked bootloader, CM7.2.0-RC1-marvel-KANG and radio-7.57.39.01M(came with the phone)
How come it's no longer able to obtain an IP?
It doesn't even request one(no mention in router logs)

it does happen ...just restart your router...and make sure you DC your phone when switching to stock rom and same for CM7...and you will need to input your pasw again...anoying i know..but thats how it is..
hope i helped somewhat

Nothing's wrong with my router mate, the phone isn't showing up in the routers log AT ALL. The phone isn't sending DHCPREQUEST properly.

Im not sure are you using static IP method or what...if you do-dont,if u see your router as remembered in your wifi settings on phone then just restart everything...i use to get same problem using conectify as my win7 router for my phone...i see my pc but i cant conect unless i restart...to avoid this in future always disconect your phone before changing rom again...or you'll need to do this everytime...hope i make sense...and hope all is fine with your phone

no mate, dont downgrade it...its not radios fault...just try what i said...what happens is that your rouer see you as conected if you dont turn off your wifi when switching roms...thats why restart is needed so it can recognize you as a new device when you switch back to stock from cm7 for example...
to concludeO NOT DOWNGRADE RADIO....try what i said, experiment with other AP,you willl work it out..no big thing trust me

1. My router does not see the phone AT ALL!
2. Why would I want t flash back to the stock ROM?

Huge and sudden WiFi problem

Hello I always use WiFi at home, work and public places but few days ago my WiFi stops working properly and that is a huge problem for me. All my other devices (SGS, PS3, XBOX360, 2 x laptops) have an excellent WiFi signal in any place of my home so I start testing other ROMs in my HOX and I have the same problem with all of them.
I read in many websites that some HOX have serious problems with WiFi but mine works very well for many months and stops working suddenly, my HOX never suffer serious falls or similar.
My question is that I have a backup of the stock build that my HOX have when I buy it but I unlock my device through HTCDEV. What I should do to send my phone to HTC to fix my WiFi problem and don´t have to pay for it? Should I remove the recovery that I flash after the unlock? I have a huge mess in my head about that, any help is highly appreciated. Thanks i nadvance.
Please near 40 views and anyone can give me a little help? Thanks in advance again.

Hey
if you want to send it in simply restore your stock nandroid backup
then flash stock recovery for your version
and then relock the bootloader
you can also run an RUU then

[Q] is it possible to remotely enable wi-fi or mobile data for htc one x?

i need to have a connection to authenticate my gmail account bcause my friend maxed out pattern attempts. i know the pattern, i know the gmail account, usb debug is unfortunately off as well as wi-fi and mobile data connection. i managed to turn on the bluetooth (if that would help) while randomly tapping home capacitive button and while doing it my home screen abruptly shows up then back to authenticate screen.
i also don't want to do factory reset right now, i have important multimedia files and messages and doing factory reset will erase them.
i know the IMEI, serial number of my htc one x unit, still have the box if someone from htc can do it remotely. hopefully.
also, if there would be any other way that the gallery and/or messages can be recovered please help me.
thanks a lot! don't care if it will be almost a week that it's been locked, but it's starting to be an inconvenience but still tolerable for me...
please help me,
I'm sure if you try wrong patterns too many times, a option for forgot pattern pops up. You enter your Gmail details and you're good to go.
Didn't that work out?
Ps - I'm not really sure if such is the case when you have no connectivity.
Are you rooted?
If yes, go to recovery and backup. Either flash same rom with cache wipe or flash new rom and restore data.
You'll be good.
Also in recovery you could mount usb and copy media off.

Ok, so your not rooted therefore you will not have a custom recovery.
I wonder if you could go into bootloader, then have fastboot usb access. Unlock your bootloader. Flash a custom recovery. Copy off your stuff through recovery usb mount. Then flash a new Rom. What you will lose is everything on the phone but you should save your photos and stuff.

I would stick with athulele's route if i were you - triple check it doesnt work before trying a sledge hammer approach.
If not then I know that unlocking the bootloader through htcdev will wipe your phone data and apps etc but sdcard remains untouched. I cant say what a factory reset in bootloader does as i never tried.
EDIT: my comment relates to unlocking a relocked bootloader on an s-off device. So its possible the first time unlock or even a relock on an s-on device might wipe the sdcard contents.
Good luck - maybe other will have tips. if you go ahead and try unlocking bootloader there are loads of threads with instructions here. Just stop after you flashed the custom recovery and use it to mount usb and copy off your pics. Then try a reset from within bootloader or flash a new rom.
Just to chip in.....there are reports of wiped sdcards when unlocking the bootloader.
Just saying.......
Edit : it will delete ALL data including sdcard.

Good point edited post to that effect, I cant remember what happened on the first locked to unlocked on my first Hox (which was s-on) and my current s-off was already relocked when i bought it.
pjgt : If all other avenues fail and you were going to unlock bootloader and root\custom ROM anyway then there is a small chance but it doesnt sound likely. Id recommend buying and installing Cerberus or similar once your back up and running - it allows an sms to unlock device or change password. This 'may' have bypassed your problem.

Fact is I unlocked a relocked bootloader on an S-OFF one x and my sdcard was not erased.
You will be unlocking a locked bootloader on an S-ON device so I cannot guarantee the outcome.

HTC One X G-sensors not working all of a sudden!

Hey guys... My friend bought an HTC One X second hand. It is rooted with what seems to be stock 4.0.3 Sense 4.0. The phone is also S-OFF and everything.. I will post pictures of it.
So here's the deal:
My friend was watching a movie but suddenly he felt as if the screen wasn't rotating... Now (According to AndroSensor App) the magnetic field, orientation, gyroscope, accelerometer etc... In short.. All of the GRAVITY SENSORS and the orientation sensors aren't working.. They are DETECTED by the app but say "Waiting for event"
tried hard resetting and everything. I have put many Custom ROMs in phones before. So i can flash ROMs etc if i have to
I have attached the pictures about everything and need help.. Alot appreciated thanks.

Go to settings and check for an update. What we all recommend is that you send it to HTC, all untampered One Xs should still be in warranty, so send it to them, if it can't be fixed they'll send you a One X or a One X+, or sometimes they could send a HTC One if you're lucky :/

Oh i'll get right on it when i get my hands on the device can i request you to stay put to this thread? Cuz i will report back here
if you flash a custom recovery you can do anything you want, ie flash a rom, sense or no sense, or flash back to stock and because you are s-off you can even change your cid to install an update from a different region.
this can go on and on and people are starting to repeat themselves and you have had all the information you need to move forward. so what you need to do, as you say you cannot fix under warranty, is :- let the phone update via ota, this will update everything including the rom, the version of sense and the hboot. then once it is finished with all ota's available you can install a custom recovery( I recommend philz touch recovery or the latest twrp) and then you can flash all the rom's or mods you like.
and if you find you still have a problem with sensors check @HTC Venom signature for a possible solution

Try to do the hard reset after couple of days. Once you feel your device is warm enough. Chances to get them back gets better with time

i got them back except for temperature sensor....althought i did this thing several times, but once it worked out...i restarted the phone by long pressing the power button, even after the TURN OFF menu appears...on the start screen pressed volume down button to go in safe mode, all sensors started working, then i restarted mobile to come in normal mode.
working fine uptil now, i dont have restarted or powered off after that. so dont know if they will keep working after restart or again same problem will occur
all the people having same problem, just keep on trying restarts, safe mode, factory reset etc etc most probably they will start working. its just hit and trial

Omg!!! Please help me

I was trying to root my moto g7 play but I think I got the firmware mixed up with the g7 power and now all its does is show 80012A99-867FDA48-4E357816-0E549F1B-B067FBD5.... I hope I didn't just brick the phone completely. Someone please help me that's all it will do... it won't go back into fastboot or anything.
P.S. My dumb ass forgot to do a backup for it and I can't figure out how to upload any pics to show yall.

Time consuming but thank y'all so much.
Well I got it done at first it showed no baseband but when it rebooted twice it showed up but now it won't get passed the configuring service screen and doesn't give me the option to put in my wifi. What do i do?? Please note that I currently don't have an activated sim card and when I got the phone it didn't come with 1 so I put my sim card in from my note 5.

You still need to flash the full firmware.
The blankflash flashes a bootloader that may not be compatible the other firmware.

So I flash all of the blankflashes??? Should I start fresh and do the blank first then the stock or stock then the blank??

I did what the thread brickhayabusa sent but now it doesn't give me the option to use wifi for the activation confirmation when starting up the phone. It wants me to use my sim card which its not active at the moment. So it stays on the configuring service screen. How do i get it to use the wifi instead? Or do i have to have an active sim card?

One last question tho... if I lock the bootloader back down, will that get the phone to be google certified and let me download games again??

Yes, I would.
Or root with magisk can hide the unlocked bootloader
