I was transferring music to me phone, and I saw a file called "and me.destroying" and it's kinda worrying me. Should I delete it ASAP? And if known, what does it do?

What does your heart tell you to do? Lol I'm kidding.. Do you to think you down loaded any apps that would have something to do with it? Go through the file and see what's in it, see if you ecognize anything

Delete it. If an app needs it, it will just recreate it. No worries, people format sdcards all the time so no critical app data is on the removable storage unless you moved the app to the sdcard.

Perhaps you could copy it to your PC and share it so we might see what it is?
I deleted it earlier today. It seemed as if it appeared after installing a J2ME application, as part of the file name also included andme.

I just noticed that this game is now available for us. By when I retro download it in the market it won't download. It starts then quites(as do some other apps for some reason.) Is there another place or way I can download the game??
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
you said other apps, do all apps not download? I ask this because a few weeks back my market wouldnt download any apps and I had to wipe everything and reflash. Turns out it was an app causing the problem when I used titanium backup to restore apps. Just a thought if that is your problem. Oh and to answer your main question, if its not what I previously mentioned then I suppose you could check androidzoom or app brain, I think they do stuff with apps. Last resort, check 4shared.com

I say its about 90% of apps I try to download. Mainly it seems to be the ones I want, but if I pick any random app it'll download.

You can try clearing your market cache, force stop it, the try again; or the above listed methods.
Probably going to have to move all your apps over to your phone and delete the android_secure folder. Then reboot and give it a try. Sounds like that folder got corrupted. Pretty common occurrence.

I've never put apps on the SD card, so I should be all set to do thY. But by erasing that folder would it erase anything on the phone?

Nope won't erase anything. Once you delete that folder (while nothing is in there)you will be good after reboot. It won't erase anything and it will create a new one once you start downloading again. Give me a few minutes and ill send ya the link
Here ya go. This will explain it all. I've had to do it 3-4 times with all the flashing I've done. This is the "more permanent fix" http://forum.androidcentral.com/gen...not-downloading-installing-image-warning.html

Followed step by step and I get "error deleting files". I'm using the free version of Astro to delete it because ES File Explorer doesn't even show the folder.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Not sure why es wouldn't be showing it under SD card files. Have you checked into maybe getting astro pro, or root explorer? If not, sure you could use adb to erase it.

I've deleted the folder and restarted and they still don't download, repeated process, and still no luck. Guess I gotta reflash :/

Dang that sucks. Make sure you clear the data for the market and once one starts downloading, cancel it. Then try again right after you cancel it.
This probably won't help you any but just a heads up, you'll probably have a ton of download#.apk files in /sdcard/downloads
Never cleared market cache before, how do I go about doing that??

Anything cache-related is used to avoid buffering during real-time program execution. I know, a bunch of gibberish. But a great example is Gallery. By building a cache of the pictures, it can provide more instant thumbnails, rather than re-scanning and generating them each time the app is launched.
The simple answer is that virtually anything on the SD card can be manually deleted with any file explorer or through your computer. Cache files can manually be cleared for any app. But note, cache files will simply re-build each time apps are run.
If there's more you're asking about, feel free to elaborate.
Try sd maid. Its free in the market

Hi, I recently noticed a .enref file that is 7kb big on the root of my sd card. I just flashed a rom to my EVO 4G as well, Digital Karma V8 Reincarnation. I formatted my sd card before installing the rom, so I know it is not from the rom itself. I opened up the file in a text editor, and in plain text the word "android" was displayed in it. Should I be worried about this file at all? What is it for?
Also, using es file explorer on my phone, I do not find the file on the root of my SD card. I will check again on my computer to see if it appears there and tell you guys.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Alright well I just checked, I can see it on ny Windows pc but not on my phone using es file explorer. Does anyone have a clue at all what this file is for?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Anyone?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
A Google search doesn't turn up anything, so I'd either leave it and not stress over a 7KB file or rename it .enref.old, reboot and see if anything doesn't work. If so, you can always rename it back
Alright thank you for the information.

This is an old thread, but just in case anyone finds this thread through Google like I did, the .enref file is created by Evernote Food and can be safely deleted.

Hey guys so when in my storage options it does not adequately reflect my storage availability I'm wondering if this is normal. This only represents about 4-5 gigs being used but only 700mb available. Is this normal? I honestly don't have that much on my internal but it is running low faster than it should be. Just wanted to know if this is normal.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
I would venture to say that's not normal... Try an app called "Disk Usage" and see what exactly is taking up the space.

Now what exactly could cause the system data to soar to 7GB? Have you tried exploring around the directories to see exactly what files or directories are abnormally large?
Op-is your device rooted
Backups may be the issue then.

Thanks for all the responses I just got a chance to look at this I'll take a look at that app and see what I get. What kinda backups are we talking? Because I haven't intentionally backed anything up. And I am rooted yes
Edit: currently running wicked v4 but have had a few before that with same circumstances. I always factory reset, wipe cache, dalvik cache.

I've looked through everything, and using the disk space app, showed about 5.7 gigs to system. Went through system couldn't find specifics as the culprit or what I could remove to make space. Is there any type of reset that'd clean it up, like a Odin flash? I'm usually better with these things but this is just odd and outta character for me.

I think I found the problem I was wondering wtf was going on... Everything has been different folder setup in cwm than before when I go to flash from SD card I get 0, legacy, and one other folder. Well... I found a folder in my system called emulated... It's basically two extra copies of my entire internal system. Anyone know where this came from? And how to prevent it from reoccurring? It shows updated today. Please correct me if this is not the issue... Gonna try deleting it will post after
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
Well... That only deleted everything on my internal SD... Wtf so strange. My internal SDcard showed like 2.7 gigs taken up the 'emulated: legacy and 0' folders were exactly 2.7 gigs each... Leading to the theory these were copies of the internal SD but when deleted they took the internal with them, now it shows I have 3.3 gigs avail and one being used... Outta 9+ gigs... Wtf ha

First of all sorry if this issue has already been addressed, I looked around could not find much on this issue, anyways I have been running deathstalker s3 for a while, I decided to try deathstalker s4 , it installed okay but the phone kept force closing any system app I tried to run , I reverted back to deathstalker s3 and my phone constantly displays low storage and says 330mb of free space, but in the settings > storage, it displays a lot of free space in the bar graph but none of it is useable, once again sorry if this has already been asked, any suggestions in the right direction would be helpful
