Resize it to correct resolution you need, which likely differs by how you have your wallpaper set up. ie. infinite scroll, no scroll etc.
Paint.net, GIMP, Photoshop, whatever. Not sure what app can do this on the phone itself though but I'm sure if you look you'll figure it out.
Problem is I generally set from gallery and irrespective of the Res. Of the wallpaper it always crops.
Am I missing something ? How do you set wallpapers??
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Get this
Check out "Wallpaper Wizardrii" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardriI
And when you choose set, choose scale, it will set the entire image as your wallpaper
Haven found a way to do it otherwise unless image is already the exact resolution needed. This app is easy to use tho, and there are MANY others like it, check some out
If I find a way to do it from stock, gallery I'll let you know, but I dint think it's possible without cropping. Maybe try quick pic as you gallery? I think that has, ability to resize to specific resolution and set image as wallpaper but I haven't used in a while, quick pic is a great gallery app

I JUST downloaded and used it again.
You have you screen res changed?
If you have your resolution changed that greatly affects many apps "compatibility" issues in play store
Yeah. mine is set to 280 Dpi... It affects play store app compatibility ?

Change to 320
Reboot
Download
Then change it back, it should still work I think
another option (i use it) is wallaby: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=wallaby.ui&hl=en
Wallpaper Set and Save.

In stock camera app in Gingerbread, I can choose picture size (5MP, 4MP etc). But in Galaxy Nexus I only see "<5M Pixels" Is it (not) possible to choose other sizes?
You have to use a 3rd party camera app from the market to do that on all nexus models I believe. I know the sprint model was like that before as well.

WOW! Thanks! Glad I posted the question.
I thought the "<" in "< 5M Pixels" means "less than 5 MP"

I swear I've pressed that before and nothing happened
Me too.
Feeling kinda stupid right now.
First, I take no credit for creating these beautiful backgrounds (that belongs to the photographers / cgi wizards / illustrators).
Originally I cropped all the wallpapers but in retrospect they only needed to be re-sized.
I've taken down the cropped images and uploaded the best ones uncropped. I would recommend
deleting the cropped images and getting these instead.
Thumbnail links go directly to full 1536 x 1280 image.
Click thumb, image opens in a new tab, long press to save, set wallpaper from gallery.
Enjoy..........
Thanks!!
Edit, never mind
Awh man. On the XDA app when I click save on the thumbnail its extremely low res

Oops, forgot to mention that. When downloading from phone, click thumb, new tab opens with image, long press to save, then it'll be in gallery.
I saw you got it but this could help someone else.
Thanks

If you tap the thumbnail you want, it should open a new tab with the image. Then if you long press that image, you can save it.

If you're rooted & using adfree, maybe that affects the download. I'm not sure why it's not working.
Oh well, you could always download on pc and transfer. They're all high quality and worth the trouble.
I just added 13 more so I hope you're able to get them.
I'm looking for the wallpaper from the AOSPA 4.2.2. ROM. Do you have it? Can you post it?

This works for me. Does the gallery crop these? It kinda looks like it when I try to set it as my wallpaper...
Edited original post and deleted all the cropped background images.
They look better un-cropped so I picked the best ones and only
re-sized them. I recommend deleting the cropped images and
getting these instead.
Added ten more.

Running DeviantXone and the ROM just got PA settings implemented into it. I was just wondering how I can make my gallery look like "3D'ish" and Youtube as well. I've seen pics of that but I have NO idea what-so-ever how to do it myself lol. Thanks to anyone that can help.

It shouldn't matter. The individual app should be able to be changed without needing to change overall density.

Yup, that's hat I've been doing and the max is 320 for dpi.
So... now that we are at a full 1080x1920 on our phone screens... I've found it to be particularly frustrating to find good wallpapers that match this resolution. So I started cropping larger images today in my free time. I also collected a lot of 640x1140 images that look great on our phone. I put them all in a zip file and will link it here.
Feel free to keep the thread ongoing and post your own favorites. Just be sure to keep it limited to High Resolution and quality images. Nothing less than 640x1140. Cheers. :good:

BTW, its silly that it works this way. But you have to single left click on the preview that XDA generates. It will open open the image in a new page and you'll have the full 1080 resolution then.
what do you guys use to resize your pics. every site i usually go to dont support the height of 1920.
Also, i would recommend this site for wallaper downloads http://wallbase.cc/home by far the best i have used.
Note: im also open to software suggestions other then photo shop.

wallpaperswide.com is where I go. I download the 2560x1920 resolution of the images. Then I open the images in Microsoft Photo Editor. The one that comes with Office 2010. You can easily use that to crop off 1480 pixels, left or right.

These are great! Thanks
OK, what is the trick to getting the wallpaper to also include the menubar area like the stock ones?
http://interfacelift.com/
is where I like to find all sorts of wallpapers, each one downloadable in any popular resolution, including 1080x1920.
But for proper rotation, isn't the standard wallpaper size for this phone 1920x1920?
I only like black wallpaper on my phones, but Im pretty utilitarian and want the most battery life out of a phone.

I highly recommend the Wallbase app. You can go to settings and configure it to look for any size you want.
Is there any reliable way to change display resolution to 720p?
Anybody?

you can change your dpi by manually editing your build.prop, or use an app like textdroider dpi.

The question is about screen size, not density.

You can use SecondScreen for 720p.

This one is working, root required. Here you have some presets and you can edit the values as you like, too.
Both of these are interesting options. I am testing, there is a bit lagginess though.
