yo, I have a usb ac adapter that came with my Rio Carbon mp3 player.
Do you think i could plug my mdaiii synch cable into it?
power output is rated:
5v, 1amp
YES, it will work just fine.
It might charge a bit slower, but it won't harm your phone at all.
i just bought a retractable sync and charge cable and i was dissapointed to find out that even though i get the charging staus and light when i connect it to my pc the battery doesnt charge it actually gets drained. im using logout wm5.
what do you think is the problem is there others who share my dilema?
have you tried another computer? it can be affected by the PCs USB power ability
Look if you have a red (+) shortcut at last (22) pin in connector at your cable. If so, cut it.
Just received my Dual charging dock from MobileFun (been waiting for stock) and I have to say that it's bloody brilliant. It has a slot in the rear for charging a spare battery and the dock for the phone is a perfect fit with the USB connector sliding in with a nice satisfying click. It comes with two cables, USB and mains for charging/sync'ing the phone and charging the spare battery (not supplied) at the same time.
To top it off, it looks damned smart with the phone sat in it.
Search for product reference 29886 on the MobileFun site. I doubt they'll have stock for long.
hmm
i just ordered two of those from mugen. Good to hear
Can I ask you a question please? My charger is not working anymore - No idea why lol but my mobile can charge through the usb cable but not through the charger. Probably something is wrong with the charger. When i tried to buy a charger from clove, they said that they don t have stock from sammy yet. I was interested in this dock but i only thought that the spare battery can be charged.
Can you confirm whether the cables that come with this dock can charge my device? I really would like to charge my phone through the main rather from the usb because it takes ages to charge from the usb cable! Thanks!
The dock comes with two cables; a standard micro-USB cable and a 'power only' USB cable with mains adaptor. Both get plugged into the dock, one charges & syncs the phone whilst the other powers the auxiliary battery socket. You can use the cables independently of the dock.
Thank you for your help! =)
Hey major, what is that clock and weather wideget you used? Looks very good on the home screen.
Btw, just wondering if there is a dock that comes with the HDMI port (with the MHL adapter built-in). Or can I plug the MHL adapter to this Mobilefun dock and be able to output thru HDMI while the phone is docked?

Don't see why the MHL adaptor wouldn't just plug in to the back of the dock. I'm gonna take a guess and say that it should work
I have a question about USB cables, proprietary cables, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. When I first got my phone, I tried charging it with the same cable I used for my Moto OG Droid and the Samsung wall wart. It took forever and after I swapped the cable, it charged quickly. Fine, I figured it was a bad cable and moved on.
A few days ago, I was using a retractable cable that shipped with a New Trent battery pack from my PC to the Nexus. I noticed under Settings->About Phone->Battery Status said "Charging (AC)" Weird because it was from my USB port, but I didn't give it much thought.
I just bought a USB A to a right angle USB micro B and I noticed when I plug it into my PC, the Settings->About Phone->Battery Status said "Charging (USB)". Same USB port, same PC, same configuration, but a different cable provides a different indicator.
Questions:
Is this likely to be merely a cosmetic different or is different wattage being supplied by different cables?
Will the (USB) indicator mean that the charge rate will be slower?
I want to use the right able cable when charging my phone in my messenger bag, but not if it's going to be slow.
Thanks.
so i have two usb cables and original. 2.0 amp samsung wall charger, the samsung cable i use for wall charger at home so when i setup my s3 as a AP i need constant 2.0 amp from charger keep up with the demand and charge the battery at same time but now i cant do that i have turn off hotpot and leave the phone alone so i can charge. i brought in my car usb cable, and now i can hotpot and charge at the same time no problem, so what is the problem with other cable? i mean cable still works and i still can use it for data transfer etc...
just cant use as heavy demand cable.
I have some cables from the "box o' cables" we seem to collect that have the same issue. Some of them won't keep up with the s3 others won't keep up with my n7. I notice it more with older cables so it seems to me that its the cable breaking down or wear on the contacts inside the connector itself.
