Until after a few days the display will begin to flicker and the glue will start to get loose.
Mine is perfect, no issues whatsoever, great battery life. Had it over a week. Best handset I've ever used! Rooted, running Android Revolution with LeedDroid tweaks.
Had mine a week or so now, been more than perfect really. Not a single issue with mine!
HT23 from the UK. Almost two weeks and no issues.
WorKing perfect
Hi
I have HT 24 and so far so good, this is my second 1 and I had nearly a week,
And no problems as yet.....
It's so nice to use, the screen feels amazing to touch. Even if the sg3 has higher scores for graphics and processing speed etc, it will not be as pleasurable to hold and to use. That's why I chose not wait for the gs3, this X is fabulous.
Had it for 7 hours so far working perfect just played some GTA screen is amazing move over iPhone
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
I thought mine had a fault in its battery since it wasn't charging, but it was the cable problem. Mine is perfect so far also HT24, only thing im hoping for is a working CPU controller, so I can lower the CPU down so it doesn't get too hot.

There are so many 5 star reviews........jesus
Just gone and rated it myself. Except the live wallpaper bug of Sense I had no problems whatsoever, but again everyone has this bug and it will get fixed for sure in the future updates. The battery drain while using display alot is another critical point, but those few things are nothing compared to the overall impression of the phone, which does really deserve 5 stars. So my 5 stars to this amazing device
Love my one X, the battery life really bothers me tho :/

Still, I shouldn't complain

I've been really happy with mine thus far. Had it a week.

HT24G.... serial
Mine has been perfect too Sent bought it when it released and no problems.... One scratch because I dropped it to small rocks

This device is my first android phone and its sweet! I was hesitant to switch to android because of the lagging experience that I've notice with my friends phone. Thanks to Tegra 3 Quad core everything works flawlessly.
Mine is in excellent condition had it over 2 weeks now no problems that wont be fixed hopefully soon. The only issue is that I'm still on old software Asia WWE 1.28.707.10 Battery life is good (I only use partial charges) read the thread on li-po batteries I made, only let phone drain once or twice to calibrate then charge as you want, this is according to research which seems to be working fine for me. I've been waiting until its about half drained. Battery gets about 2 days with 5+ hours screen on time.

The only problems I have can be fixed, I just need that update because of the storage issue and sometimes Wi-Fi issue. Phone is excellent cosmetic condition, best phone I've ever used and it will last me 2 years I don't see screens getting much better than this, Maybe true 3D. Its like the Icons are coming out at me on my screen, like they are just floating on top. I like it better than my New IPad screen TBH.
I have SH23H Model - Singapore Region Phone.
Signal strength could be better, but other than that I love my phone. Works flawlessly. Never going back to Apple and their restrictions.

Recently I was thinking about buying HTC One V to replace my old Nokia E72. However I have heard about some quality issues like yellow spots on screen, annoying light leakage, phone being dead after a week etc. Are these issues still there or they were present mostly in the early manufactured phones in March & April ? Should I take the risk of buying one, a minor fault might not be that much problem for me but I am no mood of getting my phone replaced again & again.
And I am living in Lahore, Pakistan, where would u suggest me to get this set from ? Thanks for reading, I am waiting for some advice.

just dropped by to say I am using this for a few weeks now, no such problems
I have not had any problems and mine was manufactured in April I believe. Knock on wood. Seems like a solid phone.

been using mine for weeks, its a nice phone~ and I don't have such problems
I bought mine the week they were first released. I never had yellow spots or overheating. You can only see the light leak in the dark from behind through the USB port. I think it's a great device.
Go for it!
I've been using this phone for 1 and a half month now. it's a great phone. it looks and feels premium in my hand. the camera performance is decent in outdoor and lil bit crappy in indoor with low light condition. the sound quality (earphone) is also decent compared to lets say Galaxy W which has same price. anyway, there are brand new HTC phone are going to be released later this month with the same price range you need to consider. they are HTC Desire V and Desire VC.
One V vs Desire V/VC:
better processor: Snapdragon S2 vs Snapdragon S1 (really??? is it 2010??)
better GPU: Adreno 205 vs Adreno 200 (you gotta be kidding me???)
coming from respected 'One' family vs Desire family (Desire was the award-winning phone back in 2010. but today is 2012)
decent camera: 720p video recording vs I don't know.
Desire V/VC vs One V:
bigger screen 4" vs 3.7"
better looking (in my opinion). HTC One X look vs HTC Legend Look.
double SIM card: GSM&GSM on Desire V and GSM&CDMA on Desire VC.
bigger slightly bigger battery: 1650mAh vs 1500mAh
so I think if you want the look of the mighty One X, sure you can get the new Desire series. but if you prefer phone's performance, HTC One V is for you. its worth it..
Thanks for the replies. I'll probably buy this phone then, it seems like most problems were present only in phones manufactured in earlier months.

I have been using HTC (and Dopod) since my first smartphone (D810, HD, HD2, HOX), and HD2's amazing capabilities are quite impressive to me.
After I accidently broke my HD2, I'm have no doubt choose HOX as replacement. However, I'm quite disappointed after using it for 1.5 months.
1) Unable to root unless unlock BL from htcdev.com, but I will loss warranty (part of).
2) Because I can't root my HOX, I can't tune or even flash a custom ROM.
3) There are full of problems I see and heard, luckily my machine is quite ok, no yellow spot, no dead/hot spot, no rainbow bar (fixed after OTA update). However, there are some other issues still:
a) Battery consumption is quite high, actually I'm ok because I bring external battery, but should HTC ever think about using a larger capacity battery?
b) The phone heat up at the upper part of phone, and it is not comfortable when putting it to my ear
c) No multitasking, this is totally a mess. No matter what I do, most app will reload, I knew that I can improve the condition, but it requires root access.
d) Camera is suck, especially focus very close object (even using macro mode). The front camera is even wrost, the noise is terrible. HDR mode is not good too, after I press the shutter, I need to hold still for it to process, not easy for everyone.
e) No menu button, I don't understand why HTC engineer would follow this. It is a joke that every non-ICS app will have a 3-dots menu, and eat up my screen space.
Anyone ever think about replacing HOX with S3?
S3 is not perfect, especially those features so call 'designed for humans'! but at least I can root it and do some customization
I've thought of it once because the battery life seemed nice, but then I remembered how it looks and the fact it has a pentile screen and started loling at myself.
No
Nope
No, I played with an S3 in a phone shop and although snappier, the whole thing (screen, touchwiz) looked a little dated to my eyes. I did consider but battery and storage is never an issue. I had a Desire for two years and never changed the battery and never had anything bigger than a 16gb memory card in it. But the only thing you can do is get your hands on one and have a play
Sent from my HTC One X
Only because of S-off and the multitasking, both of these COULD still be fixed....but then i realise how much more expensive the s3 is!
Hell no!
I did, and that only cause of battery life. I did quickly realize though that the stand by time on the sgs3 is not that good and actually does have a bit of a drain. Thankfully we have a companion core.
To make it short, though. Both phones are quite powerful, performance and speedwise when it comes to opening apps etc they are quite identical. Anyone who says otherwise is a silly fanboy.
The only things up for debate is: battery and screen.
Personally i would be happy to own the sgs3 as much as i am a proud owner of the one x.
If you need the expandable storage and removable battery then I'd say yes. If you don't then stick with the HOX. We are still only 2 or 3 months into it and further OTAs will improve it as well as an updated kernel from Nvidia. Both Nvidia and HTC need to start fixing software issues.
Other reasons why one would consider the S3?
- Improved audio quality vs the HOX,
- Improved video recording,
- Cameras, both are good,
- TouchWiz?
- Smart stay,
- Led customisation,
- S-Voice? Wouldn't personally use it meself,
- Out of the box unlocked bootloader,
Both are good phones. But the SGS3 edges it for certain things however the HOX excels with looks, camera software and the lush screen. And Sense is prettier although UI is a personal preference for most.
Nope

for sure !
I wish I wait an get the SGS3
I was never more disappointed than with HOX. Since I get it few weeks ago I have only problems.
The device is have so many issues and I never thought that HTC can messed in this big style.
- no S-OFF
- overheating
- confirmed WiFi hardware fault
- poor signal
...and who knows what else
No way One x all the way
Alter more than 3 years i has Samsung phones. But with HOX i am very happy and i will never switch again back to Samsung.
The best phone and better than my old IPhone 4.

Nope.
I replaced mine w the s3 and I love it. It feels very nice. The only difference in the screen is the max brightness really. I can't see any negative issues w the screen at all. The keyboard is waaay better even than stock android 4.0. The unlock button was the kicker for me since I would practically have to juggle the phone to reach the sleep/wake button on top. I HATE touchwiz. Seriously it's what kept me from keeping my note or my gs3 but for whatever reason, this version is nowhere near as annoying or cartoonish as previous versions. Looking back I do miss the hox for the tegra 3 games and the Matte finish of the build but honestly that's it. Just fyi I've had both the gray and white versions of the unlocked model. It's really about preference honestly. I will say the one thing that annoyed me the most about the one x was that there was no way to pull the battery. Sometimes android needs that ability bc of freeze ups and the like. It's nice to get that capability back, although I haven't needed it yet.

Hello, today I've returned my phone to the local store, it had the WiFi issue, yellow spot on screen and the 'back' button did not light up.
I've read around that the problem is persistant on these devices, the shop owner said that they can replace it by the newer model, HTC One X Plus, if I pay 50 euro extra OR I can chose any other phone within the price range.
I really like the exclusive brand. In my eyes, it's like a BMW to cars, but without the quality control
I love how the phone feels, it has great specs and looks great, but all these issues are just not worth it.
Does the HoX+ still have the same common issues or am I safe to upgrade?

imo the one x is more under development, with the one x+ you won't get all these roms... i would stay with one x
For 50 bucks I'd say get the new X+
There are less devs, but for as little as 50 bucks I'd get the new phone just to have the latest ajd something new again

What options within that price range do you have?
For the price get the HOX+ best of the HOX but slightly better. 64gb, slightly faster, improved audio, slightly bigger battery, improved front camera, JB straight out of the box, probably better finish. It's worth it

I'd actually suggest the 8X - HTC makes great hardware, but they don't exactly have much luck with software - but from what I heard Windows Phone is very solid and runs great.

Comparing the phones together, One X+ still seems to win, besides that it won't get updates as often as the Nexus 4. I don't like the on-screen buttons and round design at all. My choice will probably be the One X Plus I just want to know for sure: Are the WiFi / GPS / Bluetooth issues (poor contact with antenna) solved with the One X +?

To be honest, I don't think that in the latest batches there are any of the infamous hardware faults present anymore, production quality has improved greatly. Mind you, I got a HT23 HOX back in April and never had any problems...whatsoever

So, without being biased on my side...get it!
