Anyone know if this combo will work, or will a standard Nexus case will be too small? Kind of want the extra maH, but also want a nice case.
Anyone with an extended battery and a case for the GSM nexus have any weigh-in?
from the lack of responses, I'll take this as my cue to post pics of the results.
Ordered both and will followup once they arrive.
I'm pretty sure there's pictures in the SGP Hybrid/Capsule topic. Some people said the extended battery stretched the rubber part out and made it sag/loose.

I saw the posts about the capule, but not the Hybrid. I'll do some more searching.
I have the setup you described and there is a bit of sagging but it is very very minor.

Sooooo....I'm apparently either illiterate or just wasn't paying attention. I ordered the sgp ultra hybrid, rather than the Neo hybrid. Nice case, but considering the back plate is a composite and the sides are flexible (opposite of the Neo), this case won't work with the battery. Dolt. Gonna order the right one today.

I'd appreciate pics posted when the case arrives! I'm getting a Galaxy Nexus and will most likely be getting the extended battery as well since I use my phone a lot. That being said, the official cases thread doesn't seem to have any info on GSM+2000mAh battery case compatibility (just w/ Verizon), so it's back to scouring the 'net and these forums.
Considering the Diztronic TPU case since it's cheap, but I have a Neo Hybrid for my GSII right now and I'm pretty happy with it, so I'd love to have the same model for the Nexus. A bit concerned about sagging, though.
Would love to also read a 2/4-week followup to see how the silicone holds (or doesnt).

I'm a total slacker. Sorry!
Update, the Neo Hybrid/2000mah battery combo fits perfectly. Much better than the Ultra Hybrid. Also, its just a nicer case. I will say I do feel a "little" bit of slack between the TPU portion of the case and the back. I wouldn't remotely say it sags, but if you tap it, you feel it move like 0.5mm, and I'm sorry but if that's too much for some people, they're just being too picky. If anything, it feels a little more cushioned from it.
I'd recommend the combo in a heartbeat. My only complaint is that the headphone jack is a little on the small side. I connect to my car's headunit with a pretty nice Monster Cable 3.5mm Mini Jack to RCA. Had to ditch it for a radioshack replacement because the monster cable end was too big.
I'll take a couple pics with my camera later and upload. Sorry for the delay.

I was searching around for a case, using this thread (which is amazingly helpful, by the way) and I am still undecided.
I was looking for something that would add minimal bulk to the device, considering that its thinness and lightness were key reasons I purchased a Galaxy Tab.
I was very interested in the Anymode cases - particularly the Slim case - after someone mentioned them on this forum. This case appears to be exactly what I'm looking for, but it has to be imported from Korea.
I am interested in folio cases mainly because they significantly reduce the need for a screen protector. Among these, the rooCase Ultra Slim and the Acase Slim Folio seem quite thin. Does anyone with experience know for sure which one is thinner?
Also, has anyone found some other super-slim cases for their Tabs?
I picked up my Galaxy Tab 10.1 with LTE from Verizon the other day and they had this case available for purchase:
http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/...ryDetails&archetypeId=12674&accessoryId=47620
I was very happy with it. I think it is just a Samsung brand case. It is very light and has a nice feel to it.

I have already looked at this case, however I feel that it is a little overpriced - not to mention the design flaws that have been mentioned by some posters. Thanks for the input though.

Design flaws or no, that case is awesome. I have had it for a month now, and after using the Belkin folio case, the samsung one is ten times better, and thinner. Also if you use the code SUMMER2011 on the samsung website you will get 15% off your order. Not a bad deal. I wouldnt knock it until you try it first hand.

The more I look at it, the better this case seems. It's still a little bit pricey, but it seems to be worth it.
Do you know of any worthy alternatives to this case?
after trying this:
rooCASE Slim-Fit
and
Samsung Galaxy Tablet Pouch
i went with the pouch.
the roocase was nice and slim but did take away from the wow!-it's-light-and-thin factor. i feel any of the cases that stay on the sgt will do that.
one of the main reasons i went with the sgt, like you, was for it's size and weight. every ipad2 owner (almost everyone in my family!) who has played with my sgt has mentioned how thin and light it is, prefaced with "wow!". i love using it naked!
i also have squaretrade insurance just in case i drop it. not saying the roocase or similar would protect it from drops.

I picked this case up at hhgregg for $49+tax and it's quite nice, though a bit overpriced since it probably only costs a couple of bucks to produce.

Yes, I have also looked into this option. It is an attractive alternative to the folio case, for sure.
The Samsung book case will probably be the thinnest option you'll find other than getting an invisible shield on the front and the back and then forgetting about a case completely. I have the book case and although it's got some functional challenges and it's over-priced, the build quality is superb and it actually adds to the aesthetic appeal of the Tab.
I got the roocase and this keeps the tablet pretty thin and light i love that case and i think it's a good buy for whoever wants to buy a thin slim case
Anyone here got the Samsung Book Cover case with the camera hole closer to the locking flap rather than the folding edge? I hate it how my device is upside down when in the 'typing' angle.
I have heard that the only way to overcome this issue is to put the Tab in the case upside down so that it would be right side up in the typing mode.
However, this would completely do away with the camera and headphone jack functionality and is therefore not a real solution.
Hey everyone,
I've seen a couple of people say they received their Barely There cases, but no pictures or reviews. I attempted to contact Case-Mate via twitter along with others to ask when they were selling it since the case was already being sold through 3rd party channels. They stated those must be "preorders" as the cases aren't ready.
Well - I ordered one of these supposed "preorders" on eBay and the case arrived today... so much for Case-Mate knowing what's going on with their own product.
I did a video review you can see on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joJ2...text=C241afUDOEgsToPDskK0QAnQlbjsSJm_K3Pq2wWK
I'd like to make it a point that I believe this was indeed made for the Verizon version since it just doesn't fit quite as tight and fitted as every previous Barely There case I have purchased. It's not a BAD fit, but it just isn't perfect. If you have any questions, let me know.
** Update **
After using the case for a bit, I have to say I am simply not satisfied with the fit. The phone doesn't feel right with this case and the difference in fit between the GSM and VZW version is too much for me. The fit just isn't nice enough to justify the price.
Thanks for the review. Was thinking of picking one of these up, but now that I know the 3rd-party vendors are selling the Verizon version, I'm going to wait until Case-Mate (hopefully) officially releases a GSM version.
Interesting I just received my pre order from Clove in the UK and it does seem as if it should be for a slightly thicker phone. It sticks up about 1mm around the sides of the screen. Checked the box and it says GSM version.
Not used these cases before any previous users, is this normal?

Have a look at this listing I found on eBay:
Case-mate Barely There Case for Samsung Galaxy Nexus i515/Nexus Prime i9250 - Wh
Feature 1 : Compatible: Samsung Galaxy Nexus i515/Nexus Prime i9250
That probably answers why the case wasn't snug fitting, it's made to accommodate the larger size of the i515 for Verizon.
I'm using one that I ordered from thecellguru and I don't see any issues with it. I'm definitely not worried about the phone coming out of the case accidentally and wouldn't really say that it fits loose.
The case does have a bit of a lip coming up higher than the screen, but most cases have that so in the event that you drop it screen-down the case will take some of the impact.
All in all I'm quite happy with the case, it has a good texture, not sticky/rubbery, is very thin and adds little bulk to the phone.
I ordered one, but I'm sending it back. Its definitely designed for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus
Its just slightly loose, and leaves small gaps for dust/dirt to creep in... Its a shame because these barely there cases are the best. Hopefully there will be a GSM 9250 variant in the future.
For Verizon GN users, this will be a great case. For GSM its just decent.

I have to say that after trying it for a bit I am rather disappointed with the fit. The phone is just too easy to flick off the case and doesn't feel nice and fitted like an authentic fitted Barely There case fits.
I can't recommend this for GSM GN's for the price.
Wonder if this case would work well with the extended battery, I'm thinking about getting the 2100 mah battery from VZ.
I want one of these but I dont think I will be getting this soon. I want it to be snug and fitting, how it should be.
I have the actual 'Barely There' case and I'm not completely satisfied with it. The fit doesn't feel or look right on the phone. I'm pretty sure if I ever dropped the phone the case would come flying off easily.

This case is pretty nice, I have the Diztronics Matte Case and this far superior.
EDIT: It appears I messed up with adding images, so I provided direct links to a Picasa album under the corresponding text.
First off, I'd like to point out its design.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694664838498885570
This case uses a combination of three forms of TPU.
The back uses two, and the side has the third. From the photo, the majority of the back is matte with a gloss design on the side of the back.
Now for the TPU on the actual sides on the phone:
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666212754847586
It's a nice textured form of TPU that provides a great amount of grip without making the phone impossible to slide in and out of a pocket or gather dust like silicon. It may just be that I'm fourteen, but I always found the Galaxy Nexus a bit slippery, or maybe it's because of this the darn phone gets, which looks great but isn't entirely practical.
The case itself doesn't add much to the size of the phone, but it provides decent, and very eye catching protection.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694664844600398466
The back of the case is also raised near the camera to prevent scratches that phones like the EVO were plagued with.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666188166111906
The volume buttons get a dedicated cover, as expected, but makes them feel mushy, but they're really small to begin with.
The cutouts on the phone are pretty big and shouldn't have any issues, and there is also a double-holed thing at the bottom for lanyards.
https://picasaweb.google.com/103360287160249925033/GNexTPUCaseReviewImages#5694666177130719426

Anyone know if I were to purchase an extended battery if it would fit with this case? Any extended batteries you'd recommend (for GSM) that won't break the bank (or my phone)
I ordered a clear one from amazon for $1.75. My old smoke TPU case was turning a bit yellow so I ordered this to replace it for a while. I'll post pics if anyone is interested.

Hello everyone.
I've been looking at cases and know there are alternatives, but having owned an Otterbox, its the only one I choose to use for a smartphone.
There is no case made at present for the T989 BUT I spoke with a rep today and he was more than happy to add my request to the production database. He said "We make cases for everyother variant so I don't know why we wouldn't make one for this one, but the dimensions are a bit different from the skyrocket so that won't work" etc.
There was absolutly zero wait time to talk to someone, so if you've been wanting an Otterbox case for our T989 I implore you to give Otterbox a call at 855-688-7269 and at the prompt select technical questions and add your suggestion to show that customers are interested and they need to get the ball rolling already for our version!
EDIT: Perhaps this would be better suited in accessories? I dunno.

The SEIDO case is very comparable to the Otterbox commuter series. Went from BB Bold 9780 to the T989 and am happy with the SEIDO.
I have also being waiting for an otterbox case for this device. Otterbox cases saved my previous iphones from several falls and other accidents.
I will have to look into the SEIDO cases. I've never heard of them.

May consider Ballistic or Trident Aegis. I ordered both and end up keeping Ballistic. I felt the extra thick corners on the Ballistic made a better protection if dropped.

Thank you for the response. As per your advice, I took a look at the Seido active case. I can see some places where my Otterbox was superior, namely in integrated plugs for all the connectors AKA ways for water to ingress into the system. See image below!
Moisture ingress is my MAIN concern. I've dropped my Otterboxed blackberry into a locomotive engines oil/coolant pit and it survived no problem.

However, I did notice that the 'dust cover' for the mini-usb whatchamacallit doesn't actually INSERT into the plug like an otterbox's would.. it could do until then.

Like I said, more worried about moisture ingress and the otterbox is just sleeker and doesn't increase the size as much.
i have the ballic case cant even try otterbox cant find the one for t989 dont like how its 2 parts botton rubber moves alot
I highly recommend this case: TPU Rubber Skin Case for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989, Black S Shape (it is made by EFORCITY and can be found on Newegg... I'm too new here to post links: sorry)
I can safely say that it is BY FAR the best case for its price. The TPU rubber gives it great rigidity over any silicone case, and it doesn't add any additional weight compared to some of the snap-on cases. The profile is really thin, and I really like the grips on the side of the phone. I have dropped my phone several times, once going down a mountain bike trail at 20+mph... my phone shows no scratches or signs of wear... enough said

Hmm, intruiging. I had an Otterbox case for my Vibrant and I really liked it. Well thought out and it was especially nice to have easily slide in and out of pockets.
Anyway, I thought I might share what I just bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Samsung...ccessories&hash=item416695ab2f#ht_2241wt_1396 It appears to me to be a bit more of an 'off-brand' (and by that, I mean it is not a 'name-brand' by any stretch of the imagination) but it was a decent price-I paid $6.49 USD.
I do not mean to disrespect your "Otterbox" specific thread, merely throwing out an alternative that others may find useful. Can anyone vouch for this case?
Anyone tried these cases out? I am now looking at the Commuter cases.
Otterbox cases are always pretty good. The iPhone ones are top notch. The GNote ones are probably the exact same quality. They are expensive, but worth every penny the first time you drop it.
Didn't even know they had GNote ones yet. Might snag one for myself. Thanks for finding it.

I recently picked up a Commuter case for my Note and it's incredible. Otterbox cases tend to be really sturdy and protective. I had a gel case before I bought the Commuter and it was flimsy and I didn't feel confident in it protecting my device if I should drop it or something. The Otterbox, on the other hand, feels nice and strong and I'm confident in its ability to protect my phone.
The only thing I really don't like about it is how difficult it can be to get off of my Note. I can't fit my phone on my dock without prying the case off, and it's much more difficult to tear the Commuter off my device than it was to remove my flimsy gel case, but I guess that's a testament to its build quality.
I highly recommend it. Otterbox cases are pricey, sure, but they're the best on the market.
I bought the Commuter case about six weeks ago, but I don't like it in combination with the Note. I had than a big, fat and heavy unit in my hand or in my pocket.
That's my subjective opinion that fore I must add that I don't like cases in general. I tried some, but the only one I'm still using is the first one I bought, a Noreve.
Back to the Commuter. I confirm that its difficult to get it off and it's also difficult to clean the display with the case on it, especially near the edges. The hard plastic back could be less slippery. At last, it could have a stand to make it easier to watch movies.
I got the top of the line one. Great!
But now the phone is even bigger.... And its hard to get it in a pocket.

If you had taken the time to search in this Accessory Forum instead of posting 3 times in a half hour, you would have found 1 or 2 threads from several months ago that discussed / reviewed both the Defender and the Commuter. I posted several photos of my commuter.
