Hi all,
My phone is rooted and has an unlocked bootloader, but I tried to install this rom today:
MooDeD ICS ROM v.4.0 / xUltimate v7.0 Engine [ROM]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526717
But I forgot to flash the new boot.img (new kernel), wich I had to install using flashtool. Now I can't normally boot my Arc (I can understand why), but I also can't get into CWM recovery! So do I know have to flash the new kernel wich I had to do before.. or can I get Android 2.3.4 somehow back on my Arc? And if I flash the new kernel for ICS can I flash it back to the kernel for Gingerbread afterwarts? The new kernel is based on ICS beta btw.
I hope you can help me
Everything is working very well since I flashed the ICS kernel I am now running Mooded ICS rom v30.5 without any problems (few bugs in the rom, but overcomable)

I figured that flashing ICS kernel and install the rom again worked when I had flashed the kernel I could get back into recovery again Thanks for your reply
does the DoomLord Kernel work on a ICS rom? Or does it has to be the ICS kernell by DoomLord?! on other words on ICS Roms the kernel has also to be based on ICS?
That's correct as far as I know has to be ics

I don't recommend doomlord because it's a bit buggy, but there are plenty of usefull kernells. To make ICS work you will need ICS kernell

I have LT18i ROM-JJ's ICS
I want to try Arconium MIUI v1 over JJ's ICS ROM. i want to keep all applications and install this new mod.
If this can be done then how to do that?
Thanks
you can use titanium backup to backup all your application and then flash the rom and use restore option to restore back your application..If you use paid version then it's way more easy to restore to apk then normal version..
you can also make a recovery back up before flashing Arconium MIUI
Hi, is it just me or arc S is really slow with ICS?
I tried official rom, mooded rom, Arconium with arknight kernel, stock kernel and doom, and in all roms the device run really slowly.
I tries to set cpu to 1600 mhz, but still its very laggy! do you have similar issues?
is there a fast rom out there? or should I move back to GB?

NO way, mine is super fast, faster than my GS2
Try arconium, but do a full clean, (format /system)
wipe all
format sd card
and install kernel + rom (or just reflash rom if ou want to keep your custom kernel)
micro sd class ? (4/6/10)
result in antutu bench?

yes, I tried all custom ROM and kernel out there and still the lag felt. Not super laggy but still more laggy compared to GB.

I already on arconium 8.2.
I want to flash a new Kernel and rom, which are the best in your opinion?
In my oppinion Arconium ICS 2.4 is really good...
I get around 2-3 days battery-life and is manageable snappy even with 100 apps
i used ICS very long but i have some problems with games(force closes) and speed then i flashed GB...unlocked my bootloader ... installed doomkernel and arconium 8.2...now i can do anything!! no force closes nothing! rom is very fast and yes i tryed stock GB too and this was a lot better than ics
P.S. sorry for english
Try Arc AOKP, with Sirkay AOKP kernel

One more thing, you don't have to overclock to 1600Mhz in order to get a fast/smooth experience, 1200Mhz is good enough for me.
well, i dont know if its tolate to say this, but maybe the source of the lag is the xperia launcher, im actually on arconium ics 4.0, at first i did experiment some lag, but then i deleted the xperia launcher and semc music from the system/app folder installed apex launcher with google play music, without overclocking, my arc started working like a charm, arc not arc s, so you can see its not a power issue, maybe your android experience demands more than ours? do you play hd games or use the internet regularly? ics is not laggy with software rendering enabled but the experience with heavy apps may vary becuase our arc comes only with 500mb ram.
If you want speed try arconium 8 (GingerBread)

Flash Arconium ICS or AOKP.
I got Arconium 4.0 and am very happy with it. The force close bug on games isn't related to the rom (it's becaus of ICS). try another kernel for testing! I use Xarc2.0 and it runs as hell! ;D

Definitely AOKP build 39 + sirkay AOKP kernel-fast as hell, stable and plenty of customization. latest kernel has some problems with video playback so might wanna try fxp 125 our the older one

i use arconium 7(gb) as my present rom but i want to upgrade into modded ics 90.2 lrs(ics).. im wondering if its ok if i just flash it directly to my phone or do i still have to flash stock ics firmware? any suggestions please?
you can directly jump from GB to ICS without flashing ICS firmware..but make sure you clean data and cache before installing ICS ROM
thanks!

But i think it's better to flash the stock ICS first for better performance and compatibility.
its doesnt matter... flashing an custom ICS ROM from GB is the same thing as flashing the stock ICS from GB, performance and compatibility will be changed in that ROM as well with other features.

Just wipe data and cache and flash MooDed.
but don't forget to flash an ics based kernel first!
i have Xperia Pro running on XUHD 3.0.2 by jader, stock kernel( or whatever kernel is in jaders rom), heavily modded and tweaked phone, i took a cwm back-up then reflashed a stock firmware(with kernel)(just to test something) then after testing I restored it already
Question: is there a difference between the newly restored one and the one before i flashed the firmware?

I think they are the same...
Sent from my ST18i
There is no difference because they're running on the same kernel (stock .587)
