[?] Galaxy s2 bootanimation.zip how do I edit it? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have a bootanimation of the galaxy s2 and its working good. Only thing is that I want to edit it to remove the Samsung galaxy s2 letters from the bootanimation. The problem is that when I edit it the bootanimation gets twice as big. Before the edit its 3.68 MB and after the edit its over 7 mb. And it show up after the edit just blackness. Can any1 edit for me the bootanimation and remove those letters or can you tell me how to do it myself?
Here is the bootanimation: http://db.tt/5ig5MhXW

Check my sig. I know it's for creating your own bootanimation, but I am pretty sure it will help you for editing, too.

Racerboy is correct, but you also need a kernel that supports bootanimation.

Yes I understand. Sorry, i haven't made my question clear. What I mean is that, if it is possible to install a boot animation made for nexus one to our SGS like these ones:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EF_vfEs6Jok&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jz2XF67Ag1M&feature=related
Thanks for your replies
First, the folks already answered your query.
Second, the link has custom and droid animations not nexus s.

And you need to be more specific in your question, we dont know anything about your config so we have to ask these questions!

[MOD][AOSP]Fugutweaks from Samsung

So this is fugutweaks pulled from Samsung ROMs.
It really gives you a smoother scrolling experience on AOSP ROMs.
It replaces your app_process and system_server binaries
Samsung has optimized those two files thus giving a better experience than stock android ones.
Sorry guys. I know some of you feel that this is just placebo. I realized that the files are same with S2's and Note's files.
I don't know about it initially as I used AOSP ROM that time and I didn't tried it on samsung ROM.
So, now the thread is renamed.

Yes it can. But don't flash it. Instead, extract it and copy the files manally using root explorer. Or replace the update-binary forst before you flash it.

After you download my file, you will get a zip file. Extract it. It contains 2 folders, meta-inf and system. Go into /system/bin/. It contains 2 files. Copy them into your /system/bin and set their permissions to be the same as other files in that folder

Nexus 7 "Boot X" animation as live wallpaper?

Hey guys,
Im looking for a live wallpaper the same as the Nexus 7 "X" boot screen.
The play store has one buts its misserable quality and terrible resolution.
Does anyone know where I can get the animation from to make it a live wallpaper?
I read thats its somewhere on your device but im not sure where or how to set it as a livewallpaper?
Thanks!
On a sepperate note. Would someone be so kind to upload me the latest version of MX Player. Its a bit bugged on my device and always tells me I have insufficient storage although I have 8GB free.

Bootanimation.zip is located at; /system/media
No clue about making into a live wallpaper though
In the zip, it's just a bunch of .png image files that make up the animation

I want to flash this but I also want to have a way to get the stock one or cm10.1 boot animation back. Could someone explain where I would get those 2 boot animations from? And if I reflash a ROM will it remove this boot animation?
Looks great by the way! :good:
Just flashed the zip one... Amazing.. Really smooth
wow ,amazing
It's great! But, it's kinda blurry and doesn't completely fill the screen up. Can someone contact the author and ask him if he could update it for our phone?

Just open up the CM10.1 .zip, navigate to System>Media>bootanimation.zip and just pull the bootanimation.zip. Yes, if you reflash a ROM it'll reset the boot animation.
Great find! Looks great.

I've already sent him a message. He's working on it but it might take a couple of weeks since his motherboard is wrecked and it's gonna take some time for him to get it repaired. HD version for our phone is on the way rest assured!

I tired to fix it myself but it didn't work. It just blanks at boot.
I resized all images from 720x1280 to 768x1280 and change the text string '720 1280 ' to '768 1280' in desc.txt, but it didn't work
Can anybody guide on how to make it work? I thought just changing the resolution of the images would work. I let the fps be the same.

It would be more blurry since you're stretching the images. No point! Wait for a new release. It's been worked upon.

[BOOTANIMATION] KitKat Easter Egg Bootanimation

KitKat Easter Egg BootAnimation By AbhishekS
Download Here
http://d-h.st/E7L
(couldn't attach to XDA as the limit for a zip on XDA is around 11mb)
So guys I was bored and decided to make a KitKat Easter Egg Bootanimation for my phone so that I can flaunt KitKat in front of my friends while booting the device too.
I pretty much liked the outcome so thought of sharing it with all of you.
The size of the zip is big for a bootanimation (32mb) because all the images used are of full 1280x720 resolution.
Installation:
To install, simply copy the zip file to system/media and give the permissions as rw-r-r (ie 644)
Download Here
http://d-h.st/E7L
(couldn't attach to XDA as the limit for a zip on XDA is around 11mb)
The video doesn't look too good as it's just for 5 seconds. But believe me it looks fantastic as the bootanimation on the phone because I have looped it.
loved it! Thanks
Very nice, thanks for sharing - when I accidentally came across the Easter Egg (trying to remember which of the rows to hit, to activate the developer options ) I thought about creating a bootanimation, so you saved me the effort!

I'm not at home right now. Will create one when I reach home.
But you can download the currently uploaded zip too. Just copy it to system/media and change permissions to rw-r-r (644).
If you don't know how to change permissions then after pasting simply boot to recovery and tap on 'Fix Permissions'.

What do you think about the changing of the animation like this. At the moment the fading in has reached its maximum point you should start fading out back to the start position and you have a fading in / fading out animation that loops. Will surely look better
