Not exactly a Galaxy Nexus exclusive question, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to alter the Chrome User Agent to force Desktop version of websites. Perhaps similar to what ICS Browser Plus does. Thanks!

Chrome now has an option to request the desktop version of the site you are viewing. Just hit the menu button and check the tickbox.
I noticed that, however, I was wondering if there was a way to set chrome to default load the desktop version. For some reason, mobile sites bug the hell out of me

If you hit the settings button and check the box for "Request Desktop Site", every site you browse to from that point on will load in desktop mode until you uncheck the box. This is how it works for me.

How do i disable automaticaly beeing push over to mobileweb sites? I want full web experience, but some site force me to use their mobileweb site. Can anyone help me? (Sorry for my bad english)
Have you even tried to look for an answer yourself? It's under settings -_-
Look in settings on the browser for user agent and change it to desktop.
The setting is hidden on some rom's. If this is the case type about:debug in address bar and look again.

what you on about its nothing to do with the user agent string that just identifies what device your using, all you have to do to disable mobile websites is make sure the box next to mobile view in settings view is UNCHECKED

It has everything to do with the user agent string. Some sites divert you to a dumbed down mobile version of their site if you are using a mobile device (as the op said). If you set the string to desktop you can get the full site.
As for the mobile view switch...I can't find it. But I do remember seeing it a while ago. Did it disappear with the update?

On my ROM (custom but based on 2.2 with Sense), it can be found as follows:
Internet - Menu - More - Settings - "Mobile view" (under "Display configuration")
I think its only on sense roms then. Cuz I'm using cyanogenmod and its not there, but changing the user string does the same thing.

See if the browser you use has a 'User Agent' option, if it does, change it to desktop or something. that will disable mobile veiw.
-Nipqer
It just use almost any third party browser, they pretty much all have that option
I use skyfire, and they have the option to change right in the toolbar.
Most every non-stock browser (Firefox, Miren, Dolphin, Opera, etc.) has the option built in to set the User Agent string to desktop.
The sense browser won't work on non-sense phones.

Skyfire is a good choice for you because its default is NOT mobile view, so you would not have to change anything, just install it from market
Is there any way to make desktop view my default view, I'm tired of having to go into the settings after each site and request it. I have tried other browsers but nothing works real good on ics.

Although, now I'm getting the Debug menu as the last menu item in settings everytime, even without typing about:debug...

Hear lots of.people.raving about it but.is.it just me or are the settings options limited and is it all that, examples are when you go into bookmarks and select the chrome tab no option to creat folders in there, when pinch to zoom the text doesn't resize to fit the screen .I'm use to dolphin which seems for more user friendly .Any tips on getting the best out of chrome as I think I need to get on board with it then I can link it with my pc and tablet

I also couldn't find the option to switch between desktop and mobile mode.
When you press the menu menu on the chrome top bar you have an option to "Request desktop site".

I think the rave about chrome is less about its options and more about its pure speed. I personally thing the stock android 4.0 browser has more options. Although this latest update of chrome made it kinda sluggish IMO
Lack of a true exit button is why I'll continue to use Dolphin as my browser of choice
Gestures in dolphin is fantastic, hopefully chrome will have similar support.

Btw guys, dolphin user, where the hell is the tab switcher now in version 8.0? Been trying to look for it, no dice. It was there all along on the previous versions, when swipe left, in line with the add-ons(at the bottom part).
My favourite thing about it is that you can have chrome tabs open on your desktop and bam - click the button and they will appear on your phone. It is pretty smart.
Lack of Flash can be slightly irritating

Flashify is the app.
In the latest Chrome update you can play embedded YouTube videos by clicking on them and it opens them with the Youtube app.
So, i am on att i1317 4.1.2 android with multi window enabled.
Is it possible to open any url from gmail to chrome in multiwindow automatcally? this would be a great boost to the productivity rather manually dropping gmail and chrome into two windows.
I thought that was what pop up browser was for. .. I know it's not Chrome but still. ..

Popup browser is pretty much useless for the following reasons:
1. It comes as a popup rather fit as a multi-window slot
2. If you need to read more and make it full screen it reloads the entire page again making it very inefficient thing to do
3. being a popup its mostly obstructive to the base window
4. And finally its not a chrome
So, would have been nice to have a way to open urls directly in the chrome as a multi-window rather manually doing it
