Tomorrow i will receiving my Samsung galaxy at&t sgh-i777 from cowboom used condition 7(very good), i pay $320, now Google are offering galaxy nexus at $399 will be $437 to ship to Florida, USA this one come with one year warranty. You guys think is worth the $117 difference or i will be better keeping the galaxy s II.
Easy. Nexus ftw. Unless you need more than 16gb storage. The nexus is comparable or better in a lot of ways.
sent with 3g courage. better recognize. 4g courage coming soon. stock up on diapers.
I have a GS II and bought today my GN. Both are great devices but I am sick of waiting for ICS. Of course you could use one of the custom ICS roms but they are still pretty buggy. Who knows if the GSII will ever get Jellybean. The GN will get it for sure.

faster cpu but lower MP camera... also is the nexus coming out for tmobile? and when is it coming out??
Get the Galaxy S2 now (especially for 400) and sell it later on once the Tmobile Nexus comes out....
Get the SGS2. We are getting ICS soon and we have good devs here. Galaxy Nexus doesn't have external SD which is a deal breaker.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
get the s2, the nexus isn't anything special just a overhyped s2 for Verizon plus the Tmobile compatible version might not even come to the US
if it does you can sell the s2 for 300 and just upgrade to the nexus if it's even worth it

i have sgs2 but i want to know that which on is better i love too Nexus s bujt will some one guide which one is better power wise Support wise and developing wise
thanks
do you have the international s2? or t-mobile at-t?
i had a t989 and loved it to death, but weren't much accessories or roms for it. let alone ICS.
bought a nexus and it should be here monday, can't wait!!!
from support/development i would list it as
Nexus
International
ATT
T-Mobile
probably same list goes for accessories
Nexus is better overall

I still have a week left in the 14-day window. It's my understanding that the EVO LTE comes out in a couple weeks. Should I return this phone and pre-order the EVO? It seems like it will have much better hardware than this, but I'd like feedback from fellow enthusiasts.
I'm torn because I just spent $550 on this phone and if the new EVO is better and close in price, I want to get the most bang for my buck, you know?
I'm asking this here because I want to know what any of you fellow Nexus fans/ owners would do in my situation.
Thanks in advance!

Honestly , it really comes down to customization and stock android. If u want stock ics with the best developer support stay nexus.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
Do you want stock ICS or Sense? That makes up your choice for you.
I'm about to buy the Nexus, I'm done with HTC and their locked bootloaders and closed source drivers.
All of the newer HTC devices have really weak developer communities compared to every other OEM due to the way HTC locks their phones down.
Why would you ask Nexus owners if you should return it and get an EVO LTE. We all own a Nexus for reason because that is the phone we want.
All the specs for the EVO LTE are known so compare the 2 phones and decise which one fits your needs the most.
With what went on with the 3d and how long it took too unlock the bootloader ....it's a clear answer you should buy nexus or wait until may 3 to see what Samsung announces about the galaxy 3...which well be easy to root and flash with odin

I doubt the eve will cost around what Sprint is selling the nexus for, its probably gonna be higher.
I'd sick with the galaxy personally

I was thinking the same about the evo. Since I had both of them in the past but I think I ma stick with my nexus. Sense still present heavily and I know how much of it affects in performance personally. Camera does look great but the nexus ain't bad(btw I'm on sprint at the moment too)

Agreed. The sheer support and customization ability of stock ICS makes this a winner over "faster" phones.
I mean seriously, how fast does email need to come up? ;-)
I currently have the HTC Amaze, and the development on the Amaze is at a very slow. I also am just ready to try something different than HTC, though I do like Sense.
I ordered the SG II yesterday, for around $200, but now I am wondering if I should have instead ordered the Galaxy Nexus at $400. The Galaxy Nexus is better in some ways I know, such as software, and maybe being updated more often, but the SG II is better in most hardware categories. I know the SG III will be coming in probably a few months or less, so do I really want to buy the Galaxy Nexus at $400. I will probably sale the Amaze for around $350 - $400. Hmmm, what to do? Please provide your input.

If you want lot of dev and low cost..just go for sgs2..make sure international I9100..right now have samsung based rom, aokp, aosp such oxygen cm9 and miui..im prefer checkrom for sgs2..
For gnex it will be a little high cost for about 400..
But there also many good rom such as Bugless beast CNA gummy liquid and many more..not bad either..
For kernel..sgs2 and gnex have so many awesome kernel dev
Sgs2: gokhanmoral hardcore entropy simmone
Gnex: ezekeel morfic franco fugu james bond
You will happy to flash everyday..
For me sgs2 and gnex ia almost the same for development..
But the choice is up to you..your money you call..

Thanks. Hmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions. Well what I ordered was not the international version of the SG II, it is the T-Mobile version. The international versions is probably upwards of $400 or beyond. In that case, I would go with the Galaxy Nexus, but since the T-Mobile version was around $200, that is about a $200 savings.
Ahhh, I don't know what to do.
Ok, my order for the SG II did not go through for whatever reason, so I can go either way now.
I am ready to go Galaxy Nexus, but the biggest concern to me is data speeds. I have gotten 18Mbps down on the Amaze? It supports the HSPA+ 42? Has anyone seen those speeds on the GSM Nexus?

Hello Gnex owners!
I've been using my Nexus S for some time now and I believe it's time for upgrade. I was thinking Gnex because it is cheap but I need your opinion. If there are any previous Nexus S users here, you do know that after Jelly Bean arrived, NS became too laggy to support it and it was terrible. People reverted to ICS.
So,
1. How fast is your phone today on 4.2.2, how often does it lag, crash and so on...
2. How fast is it compared to Nexus 4 and Galaxy S3?
Selling my Nexus S and adding not a lot of money does get me Galaxy Nexus, so I'm pretty excited. Or get Galaxy S2/Note 1? Thank you!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
1.Phone is as fast as i need it to be. It lags occasionally if i play a game like gta iii, but I'm not a big gamer.. Doesn't ever seem to crash, unless i'm experimenting.
2.As far as side-by-side comparisons, The nexus 4 is only about 4 months old; the galaxy siii is about 11 or twelve months old, and the gnex is about 16 months old; Things change quickly in the phone world. So you have to keep in mind the time frames.
If you're seriously considering a galaxy sii, I'd go for the galaxy nexus. Why haven't you mentioned something like the htc one x, etc.?
All in all, I think I'll be quite happy with this phone for another year or so.
No lags on a daily normal usage for me. Even when there is lag while running a lot of apps it‘s nothing that‘ll make you crazy.
None of the games like NFSMW or GTA III lag or slowdown noticably.
If I were you, coming from the Nexus S I‘d have upgraded to the Nexus 4 than the GSIII or even the Galaxy Nexus.
for the right price def do it!
I made the switch from Nexus S to Galaxy Nexus because of the JB lag you mentioned, and I couldn't be happier. I never even considered getting a Nexus 4 because my phone works so well.

Former ns4g user here. I was in the exact same situation as you and made the leap back in December. Speed and smoothness are fine for me (don't play games). I think for the money/android experience, there's no better way to play it than to annually upgrade to 1-gen old nexus devices. I'm generally happy, but must say that I thought the ns was the ideal form factor. I even went back to my ns4g on a slimmed down Rom for a while before finally deciding to sell it. I just use web, email, maps, and a few apps, so the larger screen didn't add much to my user experience. Whatever though, I digress ... if you get the gnex, you'll be happy with 4.2.2

I'll be honest and say that i do miss my Nexus solely for development purposes. You'll always be ahead in the game with the Nexus. I have a S3 now and the only complaints I have are development community, I wish it was bigger. There is a ton of pros and cons though so you have to go with what suits your needs not everyone else's. My main reasons for getting rid of it were camera and no external SD card but I should have kept it around to mess with. All around it was an awesome phone though and if for some reason my S3 broke and that's the only phone I could go for I would be just fine with it.

I like the phone so much I just bought an used one for the wife.
personally my opinion is that if you plan to keep the phone for about 2 years or so, spend extra 100 and get a Nexus 4. The reason is that while the Galaxy Nexus is fast enough, with new software update, it can bring it down a little bit. I have used Galaxy Nexus and feel it is a bit slower than the newer Snapdragon S4 based phones due to the CPU. In addition, the Nexus 1GB RAM is fine now but with next round of OS update, it may not be.
It is no doubt that Nexus 4 should support the upcoming Key Lime Pie (or whatever is called) and probably so would the Galaxy Nexus. While Galaxy Nexus will run KLP fine, I think you may possibly ended up feeling that it is a bit too slow once the software hits while the Nexus 4 won't. In addition, with N4, you would also be able to keep it a bit longer and enjoy the future software updates.
if you're on verizon, gnex is a good bet to switch. i was in verizon yesterday and none of the phones they have interested me. if you're looking for a gsm phone, nexus 4. i'm on verizon so nexus 4 is not in my future, but i'm very happy with my gnex being over a year old already.

I got my phone around November 2012 for free with Verizon. Though a year old I have to say that it is still blazing fast. If your looking for a great looking phone, this is it. There is a bunch of phones that are much faster than the Galaxy Nexus but don't let this deter you. It runs 4.2.2 super smooth under clocked. I'm sure it will run the next update just as fast. The nexus 4 is a great phone but depending on what you do, the extra speed is a little overkill.

Nope, I'm in Europe, so I'm one of those who have to buy unlocked phones, no contracts or anything. Personally, my Nexus S is pretty fast, but after using my sister's S3 for a while the screen became to small, the phone itself became too small. I gave it a thought and I don't think speed will bother me that much on it. I won't play any games except Temple Run or something like that, I use Nexus 7 for high quality games like Real Racing or Deadzone.
I can sell Nexus S for 150€ and get new Galaxy Nexus for 260€. Nexus 4 is only sold by retailers here, and you can imagine how big the price is. At least 400-450€, Note 2 and S3 are cheaper! Evil retailers. Second hand Galaxy Nexus is no more than 220€.
So yes, thank you all for replying!
