[Q] HOX and Bury CC9060 Music car kit - music issue - HTC One X

Hiya,
I have a Bury cc9060 music car kit, had it for a while now. It allows music streaming over BT from most handsets. Good bit of kit.
No issues when I used it with my BB Bold 9900.
When I use it with my HOX, when a call is terminated, music from the phone is automatically resumed even though I wasnt listening to music before the call.
Any suggestions/settings that im missing on the HOX.
Steve

Playing music over a regular bluetooth headset with the Evo

I searched around, but I didn't find an answer to this specific question. I have an HTC Evo, and a regular Bluetooth headset. I'd like to be able to play music/podcasts/whatnot through the headset.
It works great for phone calls, but once the call is over, it goes back to using the speaker. I'm assuming this has something to do with Bluetooth profiles since I was actually able to play music through Bluetooth in a car I rented a few weeks ago. I had to change the audio setting on the car, so it seems like the Evo can send audio through Bluetooth if it detects a certain profile (A2DP?).
Is there an app that allows me to choose to reroute my audio from the speaker to a regular bluetooth headset that only supports the headset and hands-free profiles? If not, I may need to see how feasible it would be for me to make one.
I have been searching in vane for Android software that would play regular audio through a regular bluetooth ear piece (that is normally used for a phone) rather than the external speaker or audio jack.
If anyone knows of such an animal, please let us know.
I realize what you're asking for, and I'm just going to tell you, odds are it's not going to happen. From what I've heard, the Bluetooth API's are fairly limited, and telling the system to use a BT Profile for something it wasn't meant for (and will sound horrible on, nevermind kill the battery life of your headset) won't be easy.
I'm not saying it's impossible, just not very likely to happen at this time. You'd probably be better off getting a decent pair of BT headphones instead. Sorry.
It won't work. Different protocols. If you get a bluetooth stereo headset that has a mic then it will work with both protocols.
This has been on the top of my list (along with a widget for enabling/disabling background data) since I got my Evo. I used this feature a lot on my Moto Q9C.
But I hadn't been able to find anything until now.
The audio quality isn't great but so far "Super BT Mono Froyo Free" is working well enough. I haven't disconnected my headset yet, so I don't know if it will reboot the phone. But the comments in the marketplace say to use a task killer if it happens.
I'm actually considering getting the full $6 version after the 5 days are up.
I just wish there was a way to make the call button function with the media player instead of starting the voice dialer.
Edit:
Have to change the media volume via settings or when the screen is off to increase music volume.
My jabra bluetooth headset allows this to happen but that bluetooth is meant to stream music through it also.

what about these: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Black-Motorola-S9-HD-S9HD-Wireless-Stereo-Headphone-/260631900070?pt=Bluetooth_Wireless_Products&hash=item3caedf2fa6
granted, they ship from Hong Kong so you're looking at a good 1-3 weeks for delivery (i got mine in about a week and a half)
But anyways, they work great for me. they answer calls, control track skipping, play/pause and volume. i love 'em.
App Work Around
I had the same issue with my headset. I went to the Android Market and searched. There are multiple apps out there. I got BTmono Free which allows you to play audio over your bluetooth if you pay for the $1 version you get more options. There are a few more other programs out there that do the same thing.
Good luck.
Thanks for the find Abini. d/l'd BTmono and it works like a champ for playing both music and for Netflix on my rooted EVO 2.2

Parrot car kit a2dp experience

Just wondering whether anyone else has connected their phone (I have a HD7) to a car kit or similar?
Here's my experience with Parrot Mki9100.
Using the parrot controls:
Most things work. Play and pause work, voice control works either by syncing your contacts to the parrot or by not syncing and then using the phones voice control.
For some reason if you pause the music you cant press play on the parrot kit again, you have to go back into the phone to press play.
Forward and back for tracks works, the skip forward and back doesnt.
Of course you can control from the phone however you want. I'm sad that the promised voice control of the zune interface didnt come through.
But the biggest problem is a slight crackle with the music. It's not a massive problem and I've not used any other devices so it might be that I'm expecting too much of bluetooth a2dp and i'm happy using it like this. But at certain types during songs which have lots of guitar going on you get a crackle.
I was trying to work out if it was the phone or parrot, so i've connected my phone to my laptop, playing music now and the same lovely crackle. Anyone else experienced the same?
Thanks and hope this was helpful to someone
I just connected mine to my car for A2DP as well (Samsung Focus). It streams music fine but my play/pause/skip controls don't work (they did on my WM 6.1 device). I also have the same issue of having to use the phone to resume after a call.
I get the slight distortion as well at HF (just from tweeters). I believe this is b/c A2DP includes compression in the protocol (its not full 20-20k bandwidth). Its only on a few songs for me and something I can live with.
I am experiencing the same thing. However, the bluetooth stack on wp7 is way...way better and works with parrot better than any of the previous wm versions.

Bluetooth headset AND car stereo?

Hi
I'm just wondering what would happen if I have the phone playing podcasts through the car stereo, but also connect a Bluetooth headset? Will I just get the audio through both the car speakers and the headset?
I don't particularly want to listen just on the headset, but I need it in case of calls on a long journey sometimes!
It's probably going to depend on the particulars, what Bluetooth profiles they use, etc.
In my situation, I have my GNexus plugged into my Car Stereo with an audio cable, and Podcasts, etc. play through it just fine.
I have a visor-mounted Blueant S4 device paired to the phone. When a call comes in, my GNexus actually pauses the Podcast, and the phone call is routed through my Blueant S4, just as I would like it. When the call ends, the Podcast resumes, playing through my car stereo.
Works just perfectly for me, but I imagine the behavior will vary depending on the particular hardware, profiles used, etc.
Hmmm.... maybe I need a visor-mounted system, then... especially given my headset hurts my ear after about half an hour anyway!

You can define what profile the device uses, Media and/or Phone audio. Just untick Phone on the stereo if it auto pairs that way and allow the headset to connect to phone. The actual audio content is routed to the appropriate stream.
Sorry if I was unclear. The phone would be connected to the car stereo via headphone, not Bluetooth...

Are you listening to streaming music while driving? Bluetooth or not...

Hello Everyone,
We here at iBOLT would love to find out what percentage of Samsung Galaxy S4 users are listening to streaming music from their handset while in the car. As your S4 has access to great music Apps like Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, Slacker etc. it would be great to find out what percentage are driving a car equipped with car-stereo that features Bluetooth Audio Streaming (so called "A2DP" profile). If not, what kind of speaker do you have set up?
Don't have a car, but when I ride my motorbike I use the S4A to listen to music through my bluetooth headset in my helmet.
And if I were to buy a car, the ability to pair it with my phone (also for a2dp) is definitely important.
I stream both Internet content and content stored on my device. The content isn't what's important. What's important is the ability to stream the content through bluetooth to the radio.
my car has a Galaxy Tab 2 7" in my dash board so most of my music is played right off the 16GB MicroSD Card in the tablet, but when I do want to stream from my Subsonic server at home I do it through my phone. I do have a BT Headset (Samsung HS3000) which supports A2DP wired into my car speakers, but from my phone the volume is super low for some reason, so I usually just plug my phone into the 3.5mm headset plug I have also hooked up in my car.
I just use simple wired headphones because my bluetooth set fell off my head and shattered to tiny bits on the floor it's funny cause it still works but there's no way to get it back together again. I only use play music at the moment. I'd rather not stream because it bites into my data plan with sharp pointy teeth. That crap leaves marks!
Well I use my Plantronics Bluetooth headsets while I am in the car or on my bike...the music quality is superb and it just makes me to enjoy the track with driving though and its quite easy to answer the calls even so I just love my headsets they are pretty awesome one to use.....
I like listen to streaming music while driving, cause it can make me sober when drive.
mainly using deezer for streaming with 3,5mm jack !
I do.
Connecting phone (headphone connector) to car audio system by cable.

Is your car stereo a kenwood? I used to be an installer and a lot of kenwood bluetooth models have a default setting to play bluetooth audio through only one speaker. This had me stumped for a while, but what you need to do to change it is to put it in the "standby" source, and then access "detailed settings" and look for a setting I believe is labeled bluetooth HF audio or something, enter that setting and you can change it from "front/front only" to "all". It took a while for me to finally find it because you need to be on the standby source and access the settings. You'd think to be able to change it while in the bluetooth source. Hope that solves your issue.

Bluetooth problem when in car

I have no bluetooth audio function in my car although I can make and receive phone calls via BT. I like to listen to podcasts in my car and use Podcast Addict to do this just using my S9 with the volume high. When I turn on my phone in the car and turn on Podcast Addict the media volume on my phone gets switched off and I have to turn BT off and on to get the sound back on. This is quite irritating but the even stranger thing is that sometimes I get in the car and the sound stays on fine and I just get to play the podcast straightaway. This will go on for a week or so and then it will go back to cutting off the sound for a couple of weeks and so on.
I'm sorry if I,ve not explained this very well - I'm not sure I understand what's happening myself!
