Rooted- locked bootloader-
I was trying to flash this rom, when it failed and I hadn't really noticed.
So my system was formatted and I booted from recovery.
Since then my phone will endlessly show sony ericsson logo and reboot, back to the logo, and reboot again.
I tried booting into recovery by pressing and releasing the volume down button, but it didn't work.
I recently flashed T.E.A.M rom so I'm not sure whether the hardware method to boot into recovery changed.
I've also tried to install the firmware from pc companion but it doesn't work because the phone doesn't mount properly because it keeps turning off and on.
EDIT: Installed new firmware from PC Companion. I Had to first connect it while it was on, PCC would recognise it in those couple of seconds.
Later on, I had to take the battery out and put it back in. The phone would now stay off, until I held the back button and connected to the pc. Then the installation was succesfully run.

Note: I have a sony xperia pro mk16, there was no phone selection for it, so i chose to post on arc forum; however, solutions should be same or similar
Note2: i am a bit noob at rooting and cmw and all that
Story: I had ics and finally decide to try to upgrade to jb with custom cm10 rom. i first rooted the device and installed cmw with x-part. I attempted to install the firmware but it quickly gave me a status 7 error. so i just rebooted and it loaded to a reset ics firmware perfectly fine. after an attempt to download another version of cm10 jb, i tried installing that firmware. after a long wait on installing:..., the log finally gave me another status 7 error. so i rebooted again HOWEVER, it is STUCK ON the SONY logo.
i tried pulling out battery and repowering but nothing changes. holding power with repeated volume down or hold volume up button doesnt do anything. i can connect to sony pc companion but it says i need to fully turn on my phone to update/repair.
i can get it to flashmode using flashtool, but when in flashmode it just leaves a blank screen that wont do anything, i would have to pull out the battery and repower it, which would lead me back to the SONY logo.
PLEASE HELP

My guess is that you tried to flash a JB rom without flashing the custom kernel because your bootloader is locked. Not every rom is working with stock kernel. CM10 and AOKP as far as i know need custom kernels like Lupus and fxp139. To flash a kernel you must have unlocked bootloader. So until you decide if you will unlock your bootloder or not, you can allways use flashtool to flash stock Sony firmwares found here:
stock firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1642480
here
download the original ICS firmware (somewhere in this forum)
add to flashtool and wait till the pop up asks you to attach your phone in flashmode
attach in flash mode and let flashtool do its magic
now... unlock your bootloader using official or s1 tool method
download CM10 again
inside there will be a boot.img
power off your phone, hold down settings button and attach usb cable..
now you should see a blue LED light
FASTBOOT flash the boot.img and the flash the ROM
press thanks if i helped!!
I'm on an R800x Verizon Xperia Play that I flashed to cricKet {but my phone flashing skills are neither here nor there with this issue} running 2.3.3 and an unlocked bootloader. I was listening to iHeartRadio and found that I couldn't unlock my phone after turning the screen on. I figured that the phone was being non-responsive, so I held the power button like I was going to turn it off, and it brought up the power off menu, but the digitizer still wasn't responding to my touch, so I did a battery pull. After turning it back on, it just sat at the Sony Ericsson logo for ten minutes. Figuring that it had something to do with some root changes I'd performed (font change, animation framework-res.apk customizations, new MMS.apk, build.prop changes, de-bloat, etc.), I booted up the latest Flashtool and flashed the 2.3.3 .ftf, but to no avail. I'm still stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo, and even after four re-flashes, I'm getting no change. Obviously, I can get into flashmode and fastboot, no recovery (CWM not installed), and no boot. It just won't proceed to the bootanimation like it should. I figure if it was a hardware failure, it wouldnt have stayed powered on and playing iHeartRadio, so I'm stumped. I don't get it. Somebody help. Any suggestions?

from what I've read from previous cricket users... if you didn't do a nandroid backup before you started flashing... you either have to flash the available ftf for cricket or go to your local shop & get them to flash their image to your phone... but I'm not too certain.

Been in the same boat.

Is your screen cracked or have a major scratch? If yes your digitizer is broke and needs to be replaced.
If no? Its software here is a fix.
The reason your stuck on the screen is simple. the screen you see is the bootloader it boots the system IMG. If it does not! that means their not talking to each other properly.
So in simple terms let's make them talk.
Google stock ftf,s xperia play on the Xda. next download them. next flash the UK version first you will get an Error and yes it will fail. But then flash the Verizon 2.3.3 3.0.1 version it should flash with no error if you do it second.
If you do it first it will fail i think their is files missing in the compile.
Next Google on the xda relock bootloader download the file and flash it too it should with no errors.
Now your phone should boot. Why you ask? Because you put the system back to what it was before you changed it.
Locked boot loader
Restored kernel
Restored system.
Now that its fixed. Unlock it and flash back to cricket and make sure you change you APN to get your MMS working again.
make sure and hit the thanks button .
First of all, I'm a noob at this. So don't expect me to know everything.
I got a rooted Xperia SL with ICS.
(Please read all before replying)
This is what happened. I was trying to update my phone to 6.2.B.0.200 JellyBean with Sony PC Companion. But it didn't work as both Flash Boot and Fast Boot doesn't work properly in my phone (told u im a noob). When I hold the volume down button while the phone is off, and then connect the USB cable, the green LED will light up for about 3 seconds and then it goes off, and the phone shows the charging battery icon.
So I downloaded the firmware from a thread here in xda forum, and tried to flash it with CWM. But then, the flash failed and the phone is now stuck on a boot loop with the "SONY" logo displaying forever.
So I again tried to flash it with flashtool, but the same problem came with Flashboot and Fastboot. It just goes into flashboot for few seconds, flashtool recognizes the phone. And then it disconnects and I see a notification in windows saying USB Device Unrecognized.
Please help me out to solve this problem, this phone is all I got
P.S. - I already had enough battery (around 60%) when I tried to get into flashboot.
______________
Fixed it. Not so sure, but I think what made it work was running flashtool as administrator...
Use SUS

I also had got the same problem while updating to ics .55 firmware. I suggest you to use Sony Update Service instead of PC Companion.
First of all charge your phone upto one and half hour then follow the SUS instructions carefully while updating, It may help you !
All the best !
Hi all,
I know the title sounds like this has been answered a hundred times already, but I can't really figure out what's wrong with my Xperia S.
So this morning I woke up and wanted to check my messages. As always I had my phone charging over night. When I unlocked my phone it just hang for a while and then shut down (with that fade out effect of the LCD). As it was still plugged in the phone immediately turned back on booting into "charging mode".
And that's were the misery began.... The phone always shows the Sony logo, then Xperia, then again fades out and reboots. the first thing I tried was a soft reset, but this didn't change anything, as well as unplugging and then soft resetting.
So I then did a hard reset so that at least the phone is completely turned off, however, no matter what I did afterwards I always get a bootloop. (like holding Volume UP/DOWN and the power button)
The ONLY thing that worked so far was turning the phone off using hard reset and then press and hold volume UP and then connect it to the PC. The phone then boots into charge mode.
However, the phone is not recognised in this state (I tried PC Companion and Sony's flash tool as well as ADB) so I cannot flash any ROM on it.
So at this point I just want to factory reset my phone, even though I still have some images on the phone id like to back up first....
Any ideas/tools which might help me?
(I have already read [GUIDE] Recover 2012 and newer XPERIAs from SOFT-brick and some other articles about this topic)
Information about my phone:
Xperia S (bought via Three Austria)
Stock ROM, rooted
latest Version of Android 4.1
version number should be 6.2.B.1.96 (but cannot check obviously)
Best regards and thanks in advance

My Z1C (D5503) was running fine on Jelly Bean. Got an official notification from Sony that Lollipop upgrade was available, and recommended. I put it off for quite a while, but finally accepted the upgrade (thinking it would make the phone even better). Immediately had battery drain issues! Phone was basically unusable as a mobile, as it wouldn't last more than a few minutes off charge. It is out of warranty, so Sony wanted to charge me big $ just to look at it. Tried going back to Jelly Bean myself, by re-flashing, but it failed on System.sin After that, phone would not boot - shows the Sony logo, then Xperian logo, then the blue wave screen, then repeats same sequence over & over. Tried flashing multiple times, including with a Lollipop ftf, but same result. Tried old flashtool 0.9.18.6 as well, but same result. I can flash the kernal alone okay - makes no difference to the phone though - still won't boot. Xperia Flashtool (Emma) says phone is locked, and refers me to Sony to update or unlock. Tried official Sony Xperia Companion software repair, but it fails with error code: UEGetPhoneInfoMissingInfo message. So, at the moment the phone will not power on and boot - it will do the vibrate 3 times when I press volume up and power together. It will enter flashmode (green led) okay, and flashboot mode (blue led) okay. Power on button alone has no effect. If I leave the phone on charge it goes to a green led, and the display shows a black & white message saying software update has failed, and I should connect to a PC and try again. I have not tried to unlock the bootloader yet (no experience with it), and all the info on the Sony support page suggests it shouldn't be necessary anyway, plus I wouldn't be able to get official Sony updates anymore if I did. Not sure what to do now? Any suggestions on the best course of action from here?
