[Q] Unlock Code ?? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Got my unlock code from T-Mobile today, and I notice the IMEI number don't match with my phone by one digit. I try the unlock code and its said unlock successful. My question is, do the unlock code still without the correct IMEI number? thanks!

That sux bud. Each unlock code is unique to each imei. If it doesn't EXAXTLY MATCH, it won't work
*#* Google dropbox, its useful.

It shouldn't work, if the IMEI is off, it is going to be an incorrect unlock code. If it said successful, only one way to find out! Ask to use another provider's SIM for a sec, not everyone knows someone using another GSM provider.
If it doesn't work, don't try it more than once, and call T-Mo, and let them know the previous unlock request had been submitted with the incorrect IMEI. Be prepared to give your IMEI again, and the previous Request ID (which can be found in the email sent to you) so they can submit a subsidy escalation request to have a correct unlock code emailed.

Where to input unlock code.

to my luck, i got the unlock code for my htc s621 but i don't know where to put it. can someone please help? i'd really appreciate it. does the unlock code mean i can upgrade to wm6 or i still have to do something else? please tell me the instructions to input unlock code. thanks in advance.
p.s: i tried putting 3 old fido sim's with no access, i still didn't get any unlock code prompt etc - it just booted up and had no network access, that's all - i can't wait to put the unlock code in. is it possible to input the unlock code using the original sim i.e. rogers (it's a roger's locked phone).
also if i have the unlock code, can i use DASHV2Unlock from imei-check and make my own UNL file by putting in the code in a text file and putting the UNL extension or can someone help me make a UNL file as i already have the code. please help, thanks - i'm going crazy trying to figure this out, i have the unlock code but i don't know how to unlock it even though i put different network sim's - no unlock code prompt. phone's locked to rogers.
ok, i tried the text unl file, doesn't work - can someone guide me as to how can i make the UNL file, please - thanks.
where did you get the unlock code? don't they provide instructions?
the only way to flash a different rom is to cid unlock through imei check. if you haven't done that then you need to.
i got the unlock code from a member that's on gsm forum and xda developers - his names tupisdin. he was nice enough to provide the code but unfortunately, he didn't give me the instructions and i didn't pay - he gave it to me for free and it worked for a member of gsm forum, i need help, though - i want to try the unlock code but i don't know how to - i tried putting different sim cards from a different carrier, no luck, no unlock code prompt. so i'm wondering if someone can help me.
please help?

I hate to say it but it sounds like you leg got pulled. unless that guy has the program to generate the unlock code from your specific IMEI (in which case you would have had to give him your IMEI, which is a big no no, and could cost you lots of $$) then the code he gave you is false.
to SIM unlock your 620/621 the code is derived and generated off of your specific IMEI, so a general code will not work.
also, to get the prompt to put in the code, put in a foreign SIM into your 621 and it will ask you to unlock. that is where you input the SIM unlock code.
best of luck and i hope it works, though bout 99.9% chance it won't.
i did give him my imei. so it's a code that's generated off my imei. i'll try and get a foreign sim card and see what happens. thanks bro.
If i were you i'd be a little bit worried. if someone has your IMEI they can clone your phone and rack up a HUGE phone bill which you will be required to pay.
concerning the foreign SIM, foreign in this sense doesn't mean overseas etc... as long as it's a SIM that's not of your carrier it will initiate the sim unlock.
Incorrect. you have mixed up IMSI with IMEI. IMSI is property of SIM card and that's what can be really misused for that very purpose you were reffering to.

Yes, sorry
There are various sites that will give you the unlock code which is based on your IMEI number, but you shoudl be able to contact the carrier that branded the device and ask them for the unlock code. Then just put the SIM card you want to use in the phone and turn it on, you will get a Network is locked message with a box for you to enter the unlock code you got from the branded carrier.

I havent been able to get an unlock code since the 90's - I use Tmobile and they wouldnt even consider doing it.
If you are unable to obtain the unlock code from T-Mobile then you may want to check this thread:

Called Sprint for unlock code

I called Sprint and asked for the unlock code which I believe they gave to me but now I have no idea what to do with it. They gave me three numbers.
1) six digit unlock code
2) eight digit PUK number
3) four digit pin
What the hell am I suppose do with this now? From all the other tutorials I saw, there was only one 16 digit unlock code?!?!?
Thanks,

Someone must have requested an unlock code before? Thinking of moving to Cricket and they just tell me I need to put the new SIM card in and the phone will ask for the codes once it reboots? Not sure about that as I've put in an AT&T SIM in and got nothing, only "no SIM - Sprint"

Thought of it and already asked but they won't give instructions, only the unlock code. Sprint told me to talk to the other carrier for those. I did that, and they just said to pop the new SIM in and it would ask for code upon reboot. I'm just worried it won't since it didn't for the AT&T SIM. Hoping it might have been a faulty SIM or something but I guess I'll find out in the next few days after getting the Cricket SIM.
From everything I've read, you can't unlock the LS980 with just the code. You have to use one of the SIM unlock procedures in various threads on this forum which includes rooting and replacing the /carrier directory and setting the proper permissions.
On more generic G2 phones the SIM is unlocked with the dialer code 2945#*[model number]# but that dialer code does not work on the LS980.
6-digit code = security code for CDMA programming
LS980 already unlocked for GSM use
The GSM is locked for domestic use. Need to follow instructions in thread for permanent unlock.
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks guys. Ended up having to reteach myself how to root after being away from it for a few years. Installed Cloudyfa G2 2.2. Running great. Thanks for help.

Sprint HTC One M8 - with Sprint provided unlock code (6 digits)

I called and got my phone's unlock codes (domestic) however Sprint declined to provide how to unlock instructions. told me to go to my future carrier and give them the unlock code.
I called T-Mobile current provider and they told me... no Sprint can unlock and TMo, doesn't know how.
so I am stuck with legitimate Sprint unlock codes... and no idea how to use them.
Someone knows how this works here or it's better off just flash customs rom and unlock XDA way?
Thanks,
When you insert another carrier's SIM (in this case, T-Mob) it should ask for the code, then you just enter it.
Custom ROM isn't going to help you unlock the SIM, nor is there a working "hack" to do so without a code.
Thanks for your reply,
I've tried ATT, TMO sim and the phone does not ask for sim unlock code... it just says contact customer care.
or if someone knows how to get the phone to ask me for SIM/UICC unlock code... some hot keys to press, that can help too since I have the codes from Sprint.
**i am also reading about Sprint Sim unlock on One M8, so complicated!!!**
If you talking about the following mods, they are for unlocking the bands, which AFAIK is not the same as SIM (subsidy) unlock:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/unlock-bands-qualcomm-device-phone-t2880239
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/general/how-to-convert-cdma-m8-sprint-vzw-gsm-t3303812
yeah, can't find a way to unlock sim to use w/ T-mo ATT. strange... I have the codes from Sprint and no one's done it? good thing I got HTC 10 factory unlocked this time no such problem later on

Bootloader unlock

I am trying to unlock the bootloader on my unlocked T-Mobile N100. When I went to the OnePlus website to enter my info (serial #, imei, unlock code), it keeps telling me to provide a valid imei. I bought the phone of a guy on offer up app and it works fine with my AT&T sim, but it keeps giving me that message. I've tried contacting OnePlus but they said they needed an invoice to further investigate the issue which all I have are the screenshots of the original post and the conversation we had about meeting up (which I submitted to them). Has anyone else had this issue? I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure it out.
The OP8T also had this bug with the unlock website for the first few month of the phone release. Try contacting OP and see if they are aware of the bug.
Hi, friend, can u tell me how did u unlock this phone? Is there any free ways?
