Hi,
My GN is on UK/EU version of android 4.0.2 ICL53F. I've seen a lot of people talk of 4.0.3 and 4.0.4. Is there anything doe OTA for Europe?? I tried googling this (ironically), but no joy.
there was a 4.0.4 OTA upgrade released but it broke some peoples Galaxy Nexus (mine included) so it was pulled. You can still download it from the google Android website, and then patch it to fix the potential signal problem, but if you are not comfortable doing this kind of thing I'm sure there will be a new IT'S update soon, possibly to 4.0.5.

Sorry, IT's should have said OTA! Stupid predictive text!

There was never a 4.0.3 OTA.
They pulled the original 4.0.4 OTA because of radio drop-out issues, and now have a small 4.0.4 OTA that fixes them. Presumably current 4.0.2 users will go straight to the fixed 4.0.4 OTA soon.
You can apply them manually also.
Great, thanks. I guess I'll wait another month or so.

I haven't seen a thread dedicated to to this topic yet, so I figured I would ask if anyone on Bell Canada has gotten this update yet.
The phone told me an update was out, so I downloading and installed OTA. It doesn't look like it updated anything. Unless it was the radio or something.
I have the Wifi issue among others, but it bugs me the most.
Anyone let me know of a similar experience or if they have the OTA 4.0.2
Regards,
Chris.
I am on bell also and still no update for me.

4.0.2 wasn't out a week ago.
Bell phones will get their update from Samsung not Google. Who knows when Samsung will push the button to deploy any update.
Imo, you don't want 4.0.2, its terribly laggy.

Why do the bell phones get their updates from samsung. I have already gotten an update from google. Just not a ICS update. It updated something else.
Can you link your source please?

Because they come with a Samsung build of ICS not an actual google build. The update you got was released by Samsung not Google.
Run this app it checks your build information and it tells you who won't provide your updates.

If you want your updates to come directly from Google, convert your phone to yakju (the official Google build of ICS for the Galaxy Nexus... Bell/Virgin models have yakjuux, a Samsung version). There are several threads about doing that on here.

Alright, thanks for the info. Forgive me for not checking this out myself. I've only just got back in the country and am a little behind. Thanks.
I switched to yakju 2h ago and i still haven't received the 4.0.2 update, is this normal?
Thanks

2 hours ago...have some patience man, people have been waiting for days without an update.
There are numerous threads regarding the same question. It seems 4.0.2 was pulled and /or will be incorporated in the 4.0.3 update.
If your having issues there are custom ROMS available, if not then just chill and wait.

like above said, it's *probably* been pulled. I'm still on stock 4.0.1, never modded or anything and still no update notification. Guess we'll just have to wait
Pretty self explanatory from the title. I've seen a bunch of people who have updated from 4.0.2 and welcomed the new changes - but what about us already on 4.0.4? Has anyone gone from IMM30B to IMM76K? What differences did you notice (other than just "better signal") Is it really worth having to wipe our phone for these changes?
Or would waiting to see if a full release comes out so we don't have to wipe our phones is a better option?
Thanks guys.
Just flash the radio's for know and wait for the "Official" release which shouldn't be too far off.

Ditto, I updated my radios but nothing else. I think it'd be a bigger pain to downgrade your whole phone back to 4.0.2 to allow for the proper 4.0.4 update. Easier to wait for an incremental update, or wait for 4.0.5/6

Where the hell is imm76k?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
It's not for AT&T, it's for VZW
IMM76K is a 4.0.4 Verizon Wireless / LTE release for the GNex that appears official and started getting pushed out OTA to a very few regular users and a number of VzW phones (in store displays for instance) over the last two days. At least one user was good enough to copy the zip before it was installed on his/her device and started it, so many others could start trying it as well.

I was on the leaked 4.0.4 radios/BL and flashed back to the 4.0.2's. Applied the zip file on here and upgraded.
Honestly? Not a fan. Probably going to flash back to what I had. Of course, it's all relative to your hardware/location/etc...
My experience. Flash it and see what yours is.

People got it directly from Google's servers. An xda user ran alogcat on a store phone that was showing the update notice. That file name allowed the URL for the update to be discovered. At least that's what happened on xda .

It is not worth it if you ask me. I just flashed the new radios and that's it.

Hi I am an Asia user and have an Asia version nexus. Yesterday I tried to update my cellphone but showed failure. I don't know why. is this a hardware issue or the Asia area is still not on the OTA list.
Sent from my HTC EVO 3D X515m using XDA
What failure are you getting? And also what OTA are you waiting for/hoping to receive?
I guess he means JB 4.1
Dude this update hasnt been released yet, mid of the month hopefully
Yesterday I also tried with my GTab 10.1 to manual update, I also got some error messages that the server wasnt reachable or something similar. I waited just a couple of hours and then it worked and told me "no update for you". Guess it was hammered by 7.7 users Just try again
Isn't the Asian one the one still on 4.0.2 or something?

I don't understand why people are hesitant on upgrading their OS manually if they are eagerly waiting for the newest one. There are no drawbacks and you can go to your "official" version any time you want for warranty purpose.

Canada is still on 4.0.1 volume fix, since the Canadian build (yakjuux) didn't receive any updates since. The 4.0.2 update was pushed in February/March but due to NFC issues and Play store issues it was pulled, and never re-initiated.
So Canada is on 4.0.1, yakjuxw is on 4.0.4 along with the Google builds (yakju and takju), and the remaining builds are on 4.0.2.
Imagine you buy any product for it's one specific advertised feature. You pay full price and then surprise: that one feature is just not there. You can easily fix it yourself, but wouldn't you be angry? Everybody knows there are options to flash whatever you want manually, but the point is you were lied to and paid for something that you didn't get.
OK. I am not confident yet to update manually. Have spent the last couple days learning more about this.
My main concern is that when jellybean is released officially. (I know you guys probly have it but I like things to be easy, still find rooting etc to be rather daunting)
My phone isn't much but its rather special

As for the GSM non-yakju/non-takju builds, yakjuux (Canada), yakjujp (Middle East), and yakjuxe (Russia) are on 4.0.1/4.0.2. The remainder have had the 4.0.4 OTA either rolled out, or is in the process of being rolled out.

The process of flashing a yakju or takju ROM (including 4.1) is significantly easier than you might think. No "rooting" required.
Take a look at the flash link in my signature. Part of the first post will show you how to unlock your bootloader, and once that is done, the second post will tell you how to get the official 4.1 build (which can receive OTA updates).

I see your location says Regina... so you probably have the Canadian Galaxy Nexus, which runs the yakjuux variant. This is updated by Samsung, not Google, and Samsung has never updated it past 4.0.1. Who knows if they ever will... but you'll never get the specific OTA that's rolling out right now. It's not meant for your phone. You might get a different update someday if Samsung decides to update yakjuux.
You could convert to yakju or takju. Then you'd not only get this update to Jelly Bean, you'd then receive all future updates from Google, much faster than Samsung. That's why I did with mine. It's not hacking... the phone is meant to do it and Google makes the yakju/takju images available for download. Efrant has an excellent guide for converting to yakju here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
Ah well that sucks balls... lol thanks for the help

Yeah, the only way is to switch to yakju/takju. I have been hounding Samsung Canada and the only response I get is that an OTA update is coming "soon". As far as Jelly Bean goes their official stance is that "they have no news about Jelly Bean as of yet". This means that whatever OTA update is coming will probably be 4.0.4 ICS.
I am going to flash to takju over this weekend as I have finally become fed up with this BS.
I flashed from Canadian ver. (yakjuux) to takju, and I gotta say, this is recommended for ANY Canadians
I have a yakjuux as well, stuck on 4.0.1. I was tired of waiting. So yesterday I flashed over to yakju 4.0.4. No update to jellybean right away. So I updated it manually to 4.1.1. There are quides to on this on this site. Surprisingly easy!
JB is really smooth!! Worth the time flashing over! Doesn't take long. 5-10mins. Faster if u know what your doing. Just read the guide carefully step by step.
