Hi everyone. Some time ago I saw a fellow board member posting pictures of his prototype Kraken AMS case made by Trident for the Note and is instantly interested.
Now, Trident USA (actually Tridenteer, their subsidiary company) have made purchasing it a lot more possible for me, that it is now officially available, but still, from where I live, it is hard to go out and do a physical comparison of all the good cases available for the Note.
Thus, I would be very grateful if anyone would tell me how the case is and more specifically, if the bike attachment to the case works well. I would want to mount to on my bicycle and ride to class and my part time job.
Thanks for looking, and thanks in advance!

I'm looking forward to having this case (with kickstand) like you;
I'm falling in love, also for the seidio active combo with kickstand for our galaxy note, but I don't trust in magnetic kickstand (I didn't understand if it's reason of problem with S-PeN)
cheers

I have the Seidio Active with kickstand on order and I have the RAM Mount I think will work with that case to let me mount it to my handlebars. Watch this forum for updates.
I just ordered this case on eBay and it should be here by the end of the week.

Hi all, I have been searching around for the perfect case for my Uni. I currently keep it in pocket but tend to have issues when listening to my BT headset. I need to be able to wear it on my belt. I found exactly what I was looking for but they no longer manufacture it. It would keep me from having to carry a wallet as well. Here's the link:
http://www.senacases.com/Catalog/XDA-MDA-CASES/JasJar-Universal-MDA-Pro-9000-XDA-Executive-CASES
I prefer black to match my Uni but they only have tan and red in stock with belt clip. If you buy the black case without the clip you cant add it later.
So I was hoping I could find someone here that may have it and may want to sell it. I know this is not the marketplace but I figured it would get more views here under this particular section. Also saw the piel frama ones but they dont have the belt clip option. Any help or suggestions would greatly appreciated.

That's the worst case I ever seen, doesn't fit well and there is a high risk to damage the hinge (the holder is too thick). I tried and I immediately set it back...

Have a look to this one:

I comes with a lifetime warranty, IMHO far better that Sena (I'm using since I bought my Uni, 3 years ago).
Good luck,
Marco.

Agree with that.
I use this simple one since 4.5 years:

Has space for a few cards etc too, so semi wallet like!
I love my XOOM, but I am not a fan of cases. When I use it I want to hold the item, not a thick shell or rubber casing surrounding it. I recently purchased the Switcheasy TRIG case for ipad, but it wouldn't really stay closed since it was made before the XOOM came out. I just bought the Kroo Wrapper case instead, since it has the same design but uses velcro. If requested I can post pics of the Kroo case when it comes in next week. Anyone else come across any good sleeve/stand combo's that the XOOM would fit well in?
Link to Switcheasy TRIG case on Amazon (it was $40 when I bought it last month);

Please post pics of the case when it comes in, i have a leather folio that i use now. I feel the same way you do when i want to use the xoom i want to hold the item i bought instead of a case that adds considerable thickness.
it will probably be very similiar to the switcheasy, but hopefully will stay closed since it at least says its sized for the XOOM. i'll do some comparison pics when it comes in next week.
Kroo Case
The Kroo case came in and the pics are below. the case is much skinnier and doesn't look like a puffy jacket anymore. its also not shiny, and has a nice faux-leather look to it. the velcro is also better than the buttons in my eyes. this one is a keeper for me! below are some pics of both the new and old cases (first 4 are the new one, second 4 are the old).
I'd recommend this case for anyone who wants a case/stand that isn't also a sleeve;

Hi thanks for the pics... can't quite work out how the case works to "wrap" the xoom from your them... any chance of a few more just to show how it works?
Also struggling to find a UK/EU supplier
sent from my mz604
you live and learn ... at any rate you live
looks OK but nothing beats the versatility of the ZooGue case imo

Hey everybody, just ordered a Reiko leather hipcase from Amazon, will be getting it Wednesday. I will be letting everyone know how the fit is too. Been searching for a good size hipcase that doesn't look cheap so hopefully this fits the bill.
Here's the link too in case anybody else is interested:

It says it's for the Droid X but I used phone arena's size it charts to compare our Galaxy Nexus to it and looks pretty close. Here's that site too in case anyone is interested:

cool. Keep us updated. Thinking of getting a case for outside the pocket this time around. Not sure though.
Hello everyone.
I've been looking at cases and know there are alternatives, but having owned an Otterbox, its the only one I choose to use for a smartphone.
There is no case made at present for the T989 BUT I spoke with a rep today and he was more than happy to add my request to the production database. He said "We make cases for everyother variant so I don't know why we wouldn't make one for this one, but the dimensions are a bit different from the skyrocket so that won't work" etc.
There was absolutly zero wait time to talk to someone, so if you've been wanting an Otterbox case for our T989 I implore you to give Otterbox a call at 855-688-7269 and at the prompt select technical questions and add your suggestion to show that customers are interested and they need to get the ball rolling already for our version!
EDIT: Perhaps this would be better suited in accessories? I dunno.

The SEIDO case is very comparable to the Otterbox commuter series. Went from BB Bold 9780 to the T989 and am happy with the SEIDO.
I have also being waiting for an otterbox case for this device. Otterbox cases saved my previous iphones from several falls and other accidents.
I will have to look into the SEIDO cases. I've never heard of them.

May consider Ballistic or Trident Aegis. I ordered both and end up keeping Ballistic. I felt the extra thick corners on the Ballistic made a better protection if dropped.

I also got the SEIDIO case with the holster. Being a mechanic I needed something very sturdy. I have used it about 4 months now and am very happy with it.

Thank you for the response. As per your advice, I took a look at the Seido active case. I can see some places where my Otterbox was superior, namely in integrated plugs for all the connectors AKA ways for water to ingress into the system. See image below!
Moisture ingress is my MAIN concern. I've dropped my Otterboxed blackberry into a locomotive engines oil/coolant pit and it survived no problem.

The Aegis has piqued my interest, thanks!
However, I did notice that the 'dust cover' for the mini-usb whatchamacallit doesn't actually INSERT into the plug like an otterbox's would.. it could do until then.

Yes, definitely.
Thread moved.
I have the sedieo and have dropped it numerous times without a single scratch.
Dropped mine a couple times. I was more worried about having it sitting on my toolbox and dropping a wrench on it but with the seidio active and holster combo my worries are gone.

Like I said, more worried about moisture ingress and the otterbox is just sleeker and doesn't increase the size as much.
i have the ballic case cant even try otterbox cant find the one for t989 dont like how its 2 parts botton rubber moves alot
I highly recommend this case: TPU Rubber Skin Case for T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989, Black S Shape (it is made by EFORCITY and can be found on Newegg... I'm too new here to post links: sorry)
I can safely say that it is BY FAR the best case for its price. The TPU rubber gives it great rigidity over any silicone case, and it doesn't add any additional weight compared to some of the snap-on cases. The profile is really thin, and I really like the grips on the side of the phone. I have dropped my phone several times, once going down a mountain bike trail at 20+mph... my phone shows no scratches or signs of wear... enough said
Trident cases are really good too

Hmm, intruiging. I had an Otterbox case for my Vibrant and I really liked it. Well thought out and it was especially nice to have easily slide in and out of pockets.
Anyway, I thought I might share what I just bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Samsung...ccessories&hash=item416695ab2f#ht_2241wt_1396 It appears to me to be a bit more of an 'off-brand' (and by that, I mean it is not a 'name-brand' by any stretch of the imagination) but it was a decent price-I paid $6.49 USD.
I do not mean to disrespect your "Otterbox" specific thread, merely throwing out an alternative that others may find useful. Credit due where its due, XDA user Synergery52 has a great little review and very helpful photos here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647832 (In case anyone hasn't already seen it.)

Hi guys,
I am looking at the Walnutt cases for the i9100, I would really love to purchase one of the bumper cases, but it seems there is very little available. I have found 3 sites with them but they are all Korean and don't look to sell internationally (or at least don't respond to my emails).
http://www.walnutt.co.kr/shop/shopdetail.html?branduid=361134&xcode=013&mcode=002&scode=&type=X&sort=order&cur_code=013002
My main problem is that I am after the White/Green version (I think it will look perfect on the White i9100!) but everywhere is sold out bar this website: http://www.unilook.co.kr/shop/shopdetail.html?branduid=429862&xcode=007&mcode=001&scode=&type=X&sort=order&cur_code=007001
Is there a very generous XDA member who could possible help me out with some mail forwarding at all? Your PayPal coffee/beer fund will be added to! :highfive:
May thanks!
I found a very similar one on eBay

I've seen these before and have ordered a couple to see what they are like - will let people know when they arrive; I don't have high hopes to be honest.
I still want an official one so I know it fits perfectly though.
Here is another probably better alternative.
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...amsung-galaxy-s2-case-linear-pure-series.html
And here is a back cover to go with it if needed. You can choose that same green color.
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...y-s2-option-back-cover-for-linear-series.html
I wouldn't recommend SGP Linear ... they are made of plastic and easy breakable...
I would recommend Sweet Armor .. they are not that heavy and they are made of airline metals (aluminium i believe ... not sure)
Thanks for the recommendations guys; I have tried many cases but believe the Walnutt would be the best for my situation

Very similar to the SGP NEO HYBRID?
Mebbeh try that?
thanks for the recomendations guys
Just a little warning. I've had a Walnutt bumper case on my phone for about 4-5 months, and they scratch the living hell out of the left and right sides of the phone.
I'm not sure if all Walnutt bumper cases do this, maybe I was just unlucky.
Maybe you got bits of dust between the phone and bumper? I know that my SGP NEO EX does accumulate a bit of dust between silicon and my phone. Regular clean ups does the job though. No significant scratches after 5 months of having the bumper, just slight micro scratches here and there, but those might be also deriving from me using my phone without bumper on occasions...
Cheers
I am using Walnutt case for my iPhone 4

I am currently using Walnutt bumper case for my iPhone 4 and have been satisfied with this case so far. I dropped my phone on the ground a few times while I was taking it out from the pocket.
