Update to 2.3.6

Hey i guys i am in india and i have European Firmware 2.3.5,i want to update it to DXKJ2 i.e. 2.3.6. Indian Firmware...i tried in many sites but the file which is downloaded contains only "tar.md5" file...please help me to update my phone

hey, i've read that odin don't support one package flash for the gt-s 5360 and gt-s 5363 (galaxy y[oung])

Yeah i know thats why i am unable to update.

Please upload a proper DXKJ2 OR DXKJ3 firmware..many maby thanks

You can update the firmware via the phone, subject to existing Internet data packets, by the way:
go to settings> go to down and select about phone> software update> update

there are certain ODINs around that support certain Samsung models only.
there is no ODIN that supports all phone models.

only kies supports single files. else you must odinize the single file like Doky did.

there are a bunch of apps out there, that do KERNEL BACKUP & RESTORE, i.e.:
tuxility // open source
SGS kernel flasher
yaffs explorer
SGS tools (maybe) // open source
kTool v1.4
ROM Manager
ODIN mobile
tuxility just uses dd to do the trick, seemingly. none of the above work on the SGY, however.

i had same problem with my white gio, its from Korea and i just need EUROPE software with multilanguage add
i already tried make some custom firmware from official Europe Gio firm. together with Korean firm, but phone not starts, sometimes starts,
i dont exactly know which files is language files, someone for help?

I got excatly same issues. It´s sad because is quite good piece of HW. Please anybody help us? I´m newbie about making\translating roms......

hello...i found this " < opensource.samsung.com >" with lots of downloadable stock factory firmware that we can DL,but the problem is the file ,after i DL it and extract it using Alltzip,and then actually tried to flash it into my korean gio,wala! nothing happened so i disconnect my gio from the Odin 4.4 and try to look iside the folder in w/c it is in,there is a text folder there for instruction on how to build it w/c.. to tell everybody honestly...iI HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS TALKING ABOUT,building kernel etc...anybody have a heart to step by step explain it to me ina way a dumb like me can understand will be much appreciated,i really missed my BT/WIFI and sensor badly,need only to re-flash mine to its stock region FW.(KOREA):fingers-crossed: big BIG THANKS!!........be waiting/checking here every day.

If you can flash a working stock rom I can make cm7 or other roms compitable, but I do need to know if it works..

asian region,it's a singapore one
it is working quite fast...and i rooted it with universal gb,..but still BT not working/also wifi and sensor is still mixed up,LOL..but what to do,i'm just a noobie about tinkering with android,all i can do is re-flash and re-flash,i already tried almost all the roms i can get hold of,but still no luck:crying:
and btw camera, when you use it after taking a shot,...and view it in re-view its also upside down:laugh:
if you can tweak a rom,any rom as long as it will work ok,(bcause this gio is a very good HW.) for us korean gio users it will be a big help man...and am willing to try it.

it are sansung files, this cant be flashed, samsung uses this to modify etc, but I can't do anything with it..

i have already tried this firmware from samdroid, downloaded and flashed it,this is not a stock korean firmware ithink,because after i flashed it and did the factory reset and boot up,it rolled back to its original language i think is like russian,still used it and tried but BT?wifi/sensors are not working....from this M290K s5660XXKTK
..this psyhoplus file is ok ithink original stock but i cant flash it using odin 4.42,i tried to put it in one packaged to odin but odin cant read the file,but if you extract it,ibecame a different file so odin cant read it either....maybe if you could have odin read the file, i can flash it to my gio. i dont know how you call the file that is flashable using odin,tar?zip? explain it please.

Hello guys! Iam installed 4.4.2 dn rom. And now again this fail.. not registerdd on network. Ian truing to flash on phoenixrom 4.3 and original 4.3 too but after flash no notwork imei fix.

You need to install custom edited kernel and modem.

Check the IMEI. If it starts by 0049 then you have modem problem. Try to search this issue ( imei 0049). You will find it in many places with the answer.
Phoenix ROM gives you the ability to choose which modem to install. In the Aroma Installer, select XXDMEA ( the same name than the file you were pointed at ).
first check the IMEI and please, give detailed info about your phone ( root, recovery etc...)

Hey! With TW 4.4.2 for me Ariza Patch is enough to get back network, no other steps needed. If you don't know it google it :fingers-crossed:... On 4.3 I needed modded modem and modded kernel or custom kernel with an init.d script other than Ariza Patch to get network..
Try with Ariza first!

Now how ? I want remove this fcking agni control cuz im hate I wabt original.. how I can fix? I tried modem and kerb but no network and no wifi.. guys help me in 4.3 and 4.4

I've had the same problem and solved change modem and kernel. I lost zip file but Anyone explain backup kernel and modem, I can send my files

Just flashing a modem solved for me.
You can download Hurricane Modem changer tool from the N7100 development section and flash via recovery.

Gain Root Access after flashing stock rom

Hi Everyone posting here after a very long time
So i was recently on sammobiles website to check for any latest stock firmware for my belowed NOTE 2 GT-N7100 and found that i am running an older version and a new update is currently available with following details
Stock Indian firmware + rooted
PDA : N7100XXFUNL1
CSC : N7100ODDFNI1
and i am currently running
PDA : N7100XXUFND3
CSC : N7100ODDFND2
So can someone tell me after flashing how can i get root access back and essentials like recovery and busybox
Also if there exist a pre-rooted and deodexed stock rom with the same updated firmware please can someone provide a link
P.S. If there exist such a thread which would help me please point me out as i do not wish to spam and i did search but couldnt find the latest firmware i mentioned above

there a prerooted stock roms, but you can do it quickly by flashing new rom, then flash recovery, root and that's it.
Use Odin and it will take no longer than 10min

Thanks for the zippy reply but i would really appreciate any links for the same as i am unable to locate this firmware anywhere i am currently downloading the new firmware so dont want to loose root after flashing
