Strange doing when I click an icon or touch screen - HTC One X

Coming from Galaxy Nexus and got my HTC One X today.
1. This thing is a beast. I am getting Antutu benchmarks of 11000+ right out of the box compared to 6500 on Galaxy Nexus. Amazing!
2. Strange static sound when I click any icon. I do not know if it started after i rooted my phone or did it exist from before?a little bummed coz this phone costed about 650+. I have put it on mute and it still makes that small 'chit' sound which is annoying.
Everything works just perfect apart of this issue. Wondering if anyone has any solution to this yet?
PS: subject has a typo: it is sound not doing.

Are you talking about a sound that's made everytime you select something on the display? If so, it can be toggled off/on under: settngs>sound. It's in the last category toward the bottom of the page. The sound made when typing on the keyboard can be controlled seperately under: settings>language & keyboard>HTC Sense input.

Thanks for your reply, but no it is not that sound. I have turned off that sound already. It looks like it is a static sound and looks like it is coming from camera shutter. I have the sound set to zero through audio manager pro so nothing should be coming out. Very strange.

shake your phone near your ear, 90% chance you will hear a rattle, either the camera or the volume rocker, what ever is causing the rattle is the same that you hear when you press the screen, remove vibration feedback and you will feel it less
most One x have it so don't worry

I don't really hear a rattle. However the sound is gone automagically.

Are you sure you are just not hearing the phone vibrate first? That what it sounds like to me.

Go somewhere very silent. Its not the vibration.I can "hear" the vibration and lets say at the same time the "click" and after milliseconds the "clack"
I just hear the vibration and then the sound.

OK thanks a lot.So looks problem with the speaker of the device

I bought two galaxy nexus units from unlocked-mobiles. They both do the clack sound, one just much louder than the other .
I can only hear it if I put my ear right beside the speaker with one unit but with the other unit, it's quite loud. I can clearly hear it from arm's length with this second unit.
If I plug in my headphones, I can barely hear the clack sound from both units. Therefore I think the clack sound is either part of "click" sound file or it's just the speaker terminating the "click" sound file. If you can hear it loudly, you either have a defective speaker or low quality headphones. Either way, it's annoying to hear on the one unit whose external speaker "clacks" loudly.
Samsung's quality control is pretty disappointing. The unit that "clacks" loudly has already suffered from the "sleep of death" twice, and I've only had these phones for 24 hours! I'm all the way in Canada and so it's a pain to mail the defective unit back to the UK.

Expansys opened a case for replacement or service.I also called samsung and waiting their feedback during the day
Update:
Result. EVERYONE has this sound "clack". Just spoke with Samsung and this is how speaker works. No reason to worry.

They mentioned no fix. They said this is how speaker works BUT i asked supercurio for this issue (he doesnt have the device, he just read the thread) and here the answer
"Looks like pop-in and pop-out.
Means through hardware design or sound driver design are not very good for this codec."
I wouldn't say case closed.
With one of my devices, it's hardly noticeable (which is the way it supposed to be) so I don't mind at all. With the other I can clearly hear it from arm's length so it's a problem.

Obviously.Case closed goes for my case .Its not so loud. But in your case you must ask for replacement. The think is that everybody has it (other lower and other louder) and google/samsung must look at it.Maybe the solution is "simple" as supercurio quote (codec) or harder (bad hardware). If the problem (yes its a problem, i had sgs1,htc desire hd,nexus s, sgs2 and none of them has this issue and believe me from day one i check for pixels, speaker quality etc etc) is hardware then google/samsung you have a problem
Hello guys this is also my fault if we want to call it, but on a page of code.google there is a page to know the problem at the big G.

Yes i have this issue, thanks for the page wollyka i forgot it for posting.
All I hear is the sound it's supposed to make, nothing after. I turned off vibration and held it right to my hear and tried loads of times... all I hear is the single touch sound!
They're called Touch Sounds, its a feature, and you disable them under the sound settings.
Settings>Sound> uncheck Touch sounds.
This isn't a new feature either...
Either:
a) I'm just lucky because I don't have it; or
b) You guys are incredibly stupid and don't realise that the first sound you can hear is the vibrate and the second is the touch sound which you turned on

[Q] Delayed "Pop" on Speak phone?

I am on my third replacement phone (last one the LED notification didn't work) and now I am noticing that there is a very faint 'Pop' sound emitted from the speaker phone 3 seconds after there is a system audio sound. For instance, every time I hit the Home button or unlock the phone, I hear the 'Pop' three seconds later.
Does anyone else have this problem? If I have headphones plugged in, I do not hear the sound through the headphones.
Thanks!

Yes I do have the sounds enabled and I hear those fine. I am hearing an additional click/pop noise 3 seconds later. It makes the sound pretty much every time the phone makes noise. It's very faint.
From what I've read this is a pretty common problem. Mine does this as well but honestly I can only hear it when its quiet.
There's also another thread on this topic but I don't believe there was really conclusion.
Mine and a bunch of nexi at my local best buy suffer from this. It is not dependent on lock sounds it's a problem with the DAC I believe

Gotcha. Are you boosting your volume with volume+ or any other app?
Thank you for the replies. I'm glad to hear I'm not alone.
I have the same problem. I posted a thread yesterday, and there's another one (i didn't see it before posting mine).
That's a pretty annoying issue, i used to have the same thing on my unibody MacBook (fixed with an unofficial software patch), and once you hear it, well, you can't unhear it.
I hope this is not a hardware issue and can be fixed by some patch, but no one seems to care about this one (maybe not all GN have this problem?)
I decided to just disable all touch tones since it was bothering me too much. Just out of curiosity I checked another Nexus and the pop is still there but could only be heard by literally holding the speaker phone to my ear. Not nearly as loud as mine.

Yeah dude.... same. I actually started the original thread on this. Its so annoying hey.... I hear ya man. I dunno, I did the same as you, disabled touch sounds. Its sounds cheap doesn't it.
I really hope its software related. I was trying to find out if, just a bit of 007 work, Haha, if it was maybe the build? Seeing if the people with a Google updated nexus's had the issue compared to people with the Samsung updated ones. I wonder if there a connection....

How loud is the speaker volume

How loud is the speaker volume on the HTC One X in comparison to the HTC Sensation.
I find HTC sensation to be very low in terms of loudness especially when playing music
As I am getting a upgrade in coming months I need to know

very loud
i have problems turning the alarm sound down, somehow it doesn't stick....
more like it's the same volume regardless of what the volume bar shows
I played a song on both at the same time and the volume was the same, so not loud enough in my opinion.

Its louder than most phones and the speaker is of a good standard. Its not quite as loud as Samsung note or gs2 it nearly. Volume+ boosts it a bit too.
I would consider it one of the best I have tried for android. You'll not be disappointed.

Oh crap... I actually bought a Samsung Note from Amazon Germany a couple of months ago and had to return it *specifically* because the speaker volume on that phone is ******. I seriously can't tell from your comment if you have ever used a phone with a good speaker that is clean and loud. And what's up with the "you can increase the volume with Volume+"? Is this some kind of joke or are you the master of stating the obvious? Should I assume that pressing Volume- reduces the volume as well? And pressing the power button turns the phone off?
In any case, if you are telling me that the One X is "good", but "not as good as the Note", and, as I said the Note is a piece of crap to begin with, then I am staying clear of the One X. A loud, clear speaker is absolutely essential in my book

volume+ is an app
i have the note and the one x, the note speaker is a bit louder, feel a bit jealous from my wife's motorola razer, it's speaker is very loud and the voice is very clean.
i couldnt here my one x , standing next to a Gatlinggun. so its useless in war times.
If you want a good speaker go buy a Motorola defy. That's the best loud speaker on any phone IMHO.
Yes volume+ is an app.
Notes speaker is better than most. Maybe you have a dud. Try volume+ to increase volume.
HTC one x speaker is not as loud as notes.

You have just made a complete arse of yourself, wind your neck in.
Speaker volume and clarity is my number one issue when choosing a phone, followed by battery life and screen resolution. I've used a Motorola Milestone (Euro version of original Droid) for years. Recently I won an HTC Sensation in a prize draw. It's a better phone than the Milestone in every way, bar the lack of a hardware keyboard and the terrible speaker.
The keyboard I can just about live without, but the speaker on the HTC was what killed it for me. I went back to my trusty Milestone after a week, because the speaker is so much better! The Milestone wakes me up every day (and I'm a very heavy sleeper) and the HTC failed every day with its feeble volume. Having some some research into this, I think Motorola phones have by far the best speakers in the industry. Otherwise, they are not quite as cutting edge as the likes of Samsung or HTC. Personally, I'm looking to the new Razr Maxx HD as my next phone, which hopefully will tick all three of my boxes.

[Request] In Call volume increase?

This is something that I really mis from my s3 probably the thing I would pick if I could change one thing. The phone gets decently loud when playing music (and the quality is amazing) but in call volume I constantly wish it got louder and the same is true for the speaker phone while in call. I think even just alittle bit louder would make a huge difference since for me at max volume its right at the edge.
Anyone else feel the same? I cant be the only one and I have good hearing lol. Please someone fix this!
So far I am seeing my problems disappear one by one as mods come out (share button in blinkfeed, green battery now clear, 30 volume steps for games and music, ect)
That's odd... I find it too loud already just setting it up 2 steps below the middle level of the volume when in call.
Maybe you have a dud. I can hear mine at almost max volume just like a speakerphone on a cheap device. It really is quite amazing

IDK my dads HTC seems to exhibit the same behavior. I will test more to be sure but I doubt its hardware related since my speakers sounds strong with no distortion or anything.

speamer phone sucks

Lg did a good job with this phone save a few small things and one larger one. This speaker phone sucks. I have never used a phone with a worse speaker phone feature in my life. If I even attempt to make a speaker phone call I always have Tunnel sounds and low volumes and people on the other end can't hear what I'm saying. Is this a hardware problem or is the microphone somehow turned down when you make a speaker phone call?

I like this phone, but the speakers on it is garbage, it's not very loud and the quality sucks compared to Samsung. I won't compare it with the HTC one, because that phone ifs on a different league on its own. Comparing to other non dual speaker phone, this is by far the worst I've ever heard. For such s great phone, LG went cheap on its speakers. Even plugged into auxiliary in my car, I have to blast the volume just to get it a little bit loud, I'll admit the sound is clean but just really low through auxiliary. This and the fact that the camera does not have image stabilization really it's a big disadvantage for me. However it's different for everyone. I'm going to wait on the next HTC phablet, it'll have a better camera then the one with beats audio amp.
The camera does have an image stabilization feature on video. Never need that for stills though. Use multiburst.

The vibration on this phone sucks too, it has the weakest vibration on any phone I've ever used. Miss calls all the time at work where I can't keep my ringer on.
there is an option to turn the vibration intensity up or down. since you didnt know this i assume you havent tried turning it up. theres settings for three things, touch vibration notifications and calls.
