Hello everybody,
I have managed to root my phone but I can`t seem to overclock my cpu. I have read that I need a custom Kernel.

custom kernel can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Don't link to other phone dev pages. The kernal WILL NOT WORK with the Wildfire S.
Is there a kernel version for this phone? Are there any tutorials how to do this?
Thanks for the reply
Nope. No kernals yet.

[Q] how do i choose the best kernel ??

hey guys
i have just flashed the leedroid rom, and i want to flash the latest kernel since kernels optimize the performance and speed... the thing is that i dont know how to choose kernels, and which one fits my rom and phone, add to the consequences of installing kernels...
i hope anyof u could help, or link me to any thread...
thanks in advance
As far as I know, snq is the only one who has updated the kernel for sense roms. But try them out.
Thank u
I didn't find it in everything desire thread
I would propose some explanation abt the reason of changing vilolts and wut does kernels improve exactly
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
A kernel controls a lot of stuff and can be important. You can change stuff like CPU speed, performance increases. I don't know exactly what a kernel does.
Here's the link for snqs kernel. No idea why it isn't in the desire everything thread.

Help here!

I want to know if I need to install a custom rom or a custom kernel or a combination of both so that I can overclock my phone(1ghz single core). Please help. Why is everybody so silent here, so unwilling to answer a simple question as this. My fourth post of the same question.
hey dude....

if u install a custom rom it is obvious that a custom kernel will get installed automatically...
any way there is a app called setCpu that helps u overclocking the phone required your phone is rooted...
u can also use "seeder" an app that tries to add smothness to the kernel....

You would only require a custom kernel for your purposes.

Custom ROMs can be built with stock kernels so that's not always true.
hey listen...

The question asked did not specify a specific ROM. The question was what would be required to perform OC. What is required is a custom kernel that allows tweaking. Telling someone if they install a custom ROM they automatically get a custom kernel is misinformation.
plzzz be clear

i think u need to read the question properly..
he is asking about custom kernel and rom as well....
if u use stock kernel then it would work only with aosp based roms with only minor changes not the change that allows processor tweaking...
and one more thing the stock kernels used to be part of custom roms of gingerbread ...

So you are with your custom rom . Search on your custom rom's thread and check its kernal is overclocked or not ( most of the custom rooms are overclocked )
Android is a common os which has mostly same features for all manufacturers. Some of them are modding but kernal related stuffs are same . So you can overclock any kernal depends upon your devices performance.
Search on Google , there maybe some kernals for your device .
Just check my thread to know more about overclock here

Sorry for my late answer
Kernal is act like a mediator between your hardware and software . So every devices have their on kernals . So you cannot flash other devices kernal (nothing in Sony or Samsung).
Google and xda is your master ,so search on internet for oc kernal with your phone model name
If you cannot find, may be this thread help you

[SM-T110][Firmware] Kernel Request

Hi developers! Is there any developer that want to make a kernel for SM-T110? Now you may think "why not do it himself? " Why? because i'm noob and i don't know how . Kernel that will include OC (CPU) and OTG support? If it's possible ofcourse. That would be awesome, but as i said i don't know how to do it. That's why i have a request to devs who want to make a kernel.
It's only a request !! I AM NOT forcing anyone to do it!
Can anyone make it? please?
