Really? Couldn't read the other threads on this? lol.
I was told that it hampers performance for many apps, so I disabled it..
In conclusion, I am not using Forced GPU rendering.

I fail at searching. General feeling is leave it off?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
I always have it on
I have mine on. Don't really notice any difference.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
In apps that don't have gpu rendering enabled by default you see a very big difference in scrolling performance when you force enable it. e.g tapatalk 1.x (2.x uses gpu by default so no difference)
It only improves performance in the apps that don't have hardware acceleration enabled by default. I keep mine off because some apps (like Engadget) glitch out when forced to use the GPU and don't display things properly.
This phone's CPU is fast enough that GPU acceleration isn't exactly needed. It does make a noticeable difference, though.

developers and anyone listening. Do you think it will be possible to port the picture in picture function in the new SGSIII to the nexus?

Anything is possibly but more than likely won't happen. Buy a GS3.

I believe the same guy who pulled Flipboard apk said he'd pull s-voice and others off when he can. Then we'll see if it works. It probably won't though, but you never can tell.

I am really not understanding the logic behind this statement. There are already dev's committed to putting the GS3 stock ROM on the Gnex.

Im not sure if this is the same for everyone but for my gnex none of the screen recorders (such as screen cast) work properly on the phone atvall . I was wondering if someone could tell me why that is or give me a different way of recording my screen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Screencast states in info that it won't work with galaxy nexus. As to why..I don't know, maybe something to do with resolution or GPU...
Quick search gave me this:
Known Bugs/Issues: Tegra 2 devices: This is not really a bug, but an inherit problem with Tegra 2 devices. Screencast is built using NEON instruction set for the most part, and as such, requires a device that has NEON capability. Nvidia decided to not include NEON support in their Tegra 2 devices.
So I guess our GPU don't support NEON instruction sets.

Wow thank you very insightful and detailed. Do you have any advice on how I could record my own screen?

Has anyone else experienced FC's on the official twitter app since switching to JB?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yes, i do.
me too. sometimes
Yep. Like 75% of the time upon first launch. Then reload the app and all is well. Forgivable considering the os is not technically released yet.

This is exactly what is happening. Not all of the time, just the majority of the time.
I guess I will let them slide on it this time

Maybe that's not exactly the right title.. but can someone point me to a program to change the GPU speed and which kernels allow this? I have seen this on cm9/10.

There was a thread here on XDA a couple of weeks back where someone benchmarked performance at each GPU clock speed- stock was best.
Just passing along info.

Its only for emulators. They do run fine but at 512* it runs nearly 60fps constantly.

Is there a way to get multi-window from the Galaxy Note 2 on the Galaxy Nexus?

Haha for the first 30 seconds of the video it kinda looks like how iPhone does it. I was playing with a friends 4s and that bottom bar with the recent apps on it looks pretty much the same.
Now having 2 different apps open & on the screen at the exact same time.....wow. That's awesome and I hope we can get it too!
It is sad that Cornerstone did not take off. I loved it on my HP Touchpad. Being able to run three apps at the same time was just so awesome.

No. Buy a Note II.
Can't be ported. Requires TouchWiz framework and probably better hardware.
