Ok calling *228 didn't fix it. I didn't realize that there where different epst. I flashed ur Rom TOB n the epst was different than the one I used to change the setting initially. On ur Rom I don't c rtsp/http setting at all. I used buisness gingersense 3.0 n dialed ##3282# which brings up a different epst. Never used it on a stock rom, never dialed ##778# call to get into either. I guess getting the settings I need wasn't as easy as I first thought. One would have to flash buisness gingersense or a Rom with the updated or ported epst....

Do you still have an Alltel plan? If so, you need a different PRL file, such as the Hybrid Alltel/Verizon prl.
I have an alltel plan. It's never done this until I loaded Ruby up. Where do I get a hybrid?

Dial *22899 from your phone. It should reprogram it. Even if it makes calls, some files may need to be fixed. This should work on Alltel & Verizon.

Thanks man!
I know some of u may call me crazy but I'm not receiving any of my phone calls while I'm downloading. Aren't downloads supposed to interrupt data usage?

It should. give us more details about your phone, rom etc.
Depends. If on 3g then yes. If on 4g or wifi then u can still be on a call
Sounds like ddtm is enabled. To disable go to dialer, type ##3282# hit edit, and type ur msl code, then go to advanced and make sure DDTM is set to disable. U can get ur msl from sprint, and the ## codes only work on sense roms.

If your on stock rom go to settings then call and make sure ddtm is not checked

It is the 6 digit number that identifies your phone and is used to activate it and reprogram it. I assume you are rooted. Download connectbot from the market. Choose Samsung Epic and local then type this exactly with MSL in caps with the hardware keyboard
getprop ril.MSL
Your 6 digit number will appear on the screen.

Try this, it may fix all your problems with the phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226074&highlight=clear+modem
Have you tried using the gps status app to clear the a-gps state and download the assistance data? In the app press menu>tools>manage a-gps state>reset. Then menu>tools>manage a-gps state>download.
Did you happen to run the pm disable com.samsung script? If so you will have to re-enable it in order to update prl by typing pm enable com.samsung in root explorer after typing su.
Glad to find this thread, i haven't seen some of these other suggestions yet.

##3282# (in dialer)
Enter MSL
Select "Others"
Select "Multimedia"
Make changes to proxy from there.
Mind if I ask what is the point of changing the sprint proxy?

Try *#*#3282#*#* on AOKP
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Change it on GB or ICS TW and flash back to an AoSP rom, its stored in NVRAM so it is persistent across flashes, I changed it a long time ago, and have flashed multiple times since and mine is still nulled. Also if you use the newest 3g turbocharger script that supports cdma that is one of the changes made on all settings for it. Just find the script in the v6 thread and run it in script manager if you don't wanna flash back and forth its a quick way to change it. After several tests I've seen same to drastically improved results with the new cdma enabled version of the script. Haven't seen any negative effects at all either the speeds only improve by .1mbps to a few kbps or improve around 700-800kbps. I'm currently getting 1.1-1.7mbps peak and 2-2.8mbps off peak since going to fd24 modem and running the turbocharger

If there is that would be nice, LTE is killing my battery. I'm rooted on stock, but I'm not terribly opposed to switching to another touchwiz rom if necessary. Thanks!

I would imagine setting up the 3G APN and deleting the LTE APN would do the trick.
Doesn't let you delete the old one

You shouldn't have to delete the old one. You **should** be able to make a new one and set it as the default.
Yes either use new apn and set as default or better yet just change the network mode of the phone to the second option so that it never looks for the lte in the first place! (GSM/hspa auto mode instead of GSM/hspa/lte auto mode). U should see this network mode option if not use dialer *#2263# and then select any non lte option u want. If ur rooted then u have options! But simple network mode change is by far easiest. Settings/more settings(under data usage) mobile networks and network mode.
