A while back I had a volume control option to lower my music volume while notifications were coming through rather than my music being completely interrupted. I don't remember if it was a system setting, ROM setting or an app. Does anyone know how to get this back?
What rom are u currently running?

Luquidcontrol 1.3 now....
Hmmm. I'm not familiar with that series of roms. I know that with aokp there is an option under the volume setting to link or in link the volumes

Hello,
I've installed this app that claims to boost the volume on Android Gingerbread of higher devices.
One of the few problems i think my Nexus has is the very low speaker volume.
I tryed a lot of configurations, but none seems to make no difference on the speaker volume.
Has anyone suceeded to use this app ? If so, please help me out ?
Thanks !
Not sure if you're stock or wish to remain so, but I couldn't notice a different with volume +. However, with Gummy ROM and DSPmanager the speaker volume seems to be improved. My two cents.

works on aokp
Volume+ works just fine on stock non rooted. Someone will post how, or just search its been covered a million times.
I use equalizer by smart apps. Load custom preset and Max out each freq, your volume will double.

I use aokp milestone 4, and here nothing happens when i increase the volume in the app... did you do anything else ?
Did you get the free or paid version? The free version only goes up to a +4 boost or something. The paid version really works.

I just bought a GSM Galaxy Nexus. Have been using it for a week on T-Mobile now. I love the phone, except for the speaker volume. It is extremely low. I have searched and found that this is a known issue, especially stock JB ROM. Many people recommended Volume+ app, but that does not work on notifications or ringtones in JB. I have tried multiple apps, but none have worked.
Can anyone recommend anything? Are there any apps that would at least extend the vibration of the phone so that I may be able to hear it vibrate?
Thanks
That's something I would love to know my self

Great app. But it does not solve the low notification volume issue.

I've been looking for some custom roms that have it. From what I've read, it requires some changes in android.policies.jar. cm10 has it built in and you can set it in the sound settings.

Is there any one to acquire this on the stock rom?
???
Bump for this...I'd love to be able to figure out a way without flashing custom roms yet.
So when I was on custom roms There was this awesome feature that you can control your music using volume buttons when the screen is off. But I returned to stock and I miss this feature a lot. If you guys know how I can get the feature on stock please share. Thx
Ditto. I loved that feature when I had my nexus s. I'm currently using jedi 7.2 but it isn't part of this rom. Is there a way to add this?

Use poweramp, it's a well rounded music app with lots of extras.
I'm aware of poweramp but it still doesn't give you the option to change songs without turning the screen on.

I've tried numerous apps and they all seem to fail in doing this.
I want the option of linking my ringtone and notification volume levels together.
I got so used to CyanogenMod for years doing this by default, but Sammy took that away from us - again. In the past, certain apps were able to put it back in, but it seems the coding with regards to our volume control is not currently able to be changed.
Other than flashing an AOSP-based rom, is there any way to do this?
Thanks!
I'd like to know too. Really enjoyed that about CM.

So is any dev up to the challenge? (Please oh pretty please!!!?!?!?!!!!)
Audio manager pro links mine just fine and they stay linked when I use the system volume either from the panel, settings or volume rocker. I just checked the link ringer and notification box in audio manager and now they are always linked no matter where I change them from

Can you give me a link or the developer's name?
I tried a few audio managers/volume control apps and while it would link them when u used the app, when you used the volume rocker on the side of the phone, it would only change the ringtone volume.
Thanks!!! (But gosh, I wish this could be baked in, a mod to flash or even re-write some code instead of an app!)
"Help help! I'm being repressed!"
helps plz
I'm on AudioManager Pro and for some reason there isn't an option to link volumes of ringtone and notification tone.

Should be on the volume page not settings. Should be a little checkbox somewhere near the ringer or notification slider. I don't have it installed at the moment since I just flashed another test build of my rom
