Temple run - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

There is a known issue running this game on CM9. It will eventually freeze up causing a reboot and sometimes it will delete all your game data when you restart it. Is this issue present on TW based GB and ICS rooms?

This happened to me on CM9. I've never been so furious.

Back it up using titanium backup and just restore app data for the game when it crashes I learned my lesson after I played for a week and lost everything

Yeah, thats what I do now. Whenever I reach a worthwhile achievement I just back it up in Titanium. For what it's worth I think it's just this build of CM9 because on my Xoom's CM9 I played for 30 minutes straight w/o a hiccup. Oh well.

I'm on calk's e4gt 2 v1.4 (which is tw based), and have had no issues with temple run at all

This happened to me on CM9 the other day! I was so pissed off, but it was a good thing I took a screenshot of my high score (over 1.5 mill) and sent it to my gf. Not only do I have proof which is good enough for me, but she's still pissed because she can't beat it lol......she came close though
I have since switched to stock FD19 and spent a bit of time trying to work my way back

Happened to me on Nocturnal Venum, which is AOKP based

Google Chrome Browser Running OK?

Does Google Chrome run OK for you guys on ICS? I know that it is in Beta status, but I hear lots of reviews about how great it is.
It runs horribly for me. I can't go 30 seconds without it locking up. It will then give me the option to wait or close. Sometimes it will blur while trying to Thing is, it's not working for me on all different E4GT Roms I have tried (CM9, Calk's, Goodness). I have AOKP on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, and it's terrible on there too...same thing, slow, freezing, bad scrolling.
Any others care to share your experience with Chrome? Am I the only one?
it runs like s**t for me too. Ive tried it on AOKP and every leak since FB07. The people who have reported that it hasnt been glitchy, I believe, are just incredibly lucky. lol
It runs like $hit for me as well. It freezes, stutters & basically is unusable.

How buggy is CM9 on the touchpad? Are "device not supported" messages few and far between or are they everywhere?

My chrome just crashes everytime I try, when the 1.8 update for ICS Blend comes out I'll probably do a full wipe again and try updating again.
it freezes and crashes on me all the time.

Only partially true. Adobe flash just updated and in the market it said the update was for ICS
its been runing horribly for me as well.... works great on my Xoom ICS build
i have been using it on the touchpad cm9 nightlies for a while now. works great. my everyday browser. nice to have all my desktop shortcuts loaded right in. hopefully we will have it working on the e4gt soon.
Stutters when scrolling and crashes a minute in.

Is this working in FC07? *crosses fingers*
Worked great on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 running CM9 but i cant go 2 min with it on my E4GT without it completely craahing. Im on Caulkulin 1.0/FC06. I thought it was just me!

It's hit or miss here. Sometimes it works amazingly, other times it stutters and FC's.
What worked for me is uninstalling it threw titanium backup or whatever other app you'd like and then go to play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.chromeand obviously download it

TweetCaster causing serious heating??

Ok, I just want to see if anyone else is having this problem. Ive found that tweetcaster on any ICS rom ive tried seems to cause major heating. I know ICS leaked builds have had this issue in general, but I just want to know if anyone else is encounteering the same problem.
Cpu usage gets to about 47% and then the phone will get super hot, and then of course battery takes a nose dive. I hate to switch twitter apps, but its the best one out there for most. any input from people that are using it.
oh yeah follow me on twitter lol @yungjuice216 haaaa

sup peeps to make a long story short my 3d thought it could walk on water like Jesus did and come to find out it was a fail fml ........so sprint sent me a epic touch. Im knew to the whole Samsung galaxy s thing but I'm pretty sure I will get the hang of it specially with the Odin thing but my question is what's a good stable ROM with no bugs decent battery life and no lag? I wanna start this experience off right!!

Calkulin's ROM (Gingerbread version, not ICS) or Blazer ROM. Don't flash ICS ROMs as they have the potential to perma-brick your phone.
Don't listen to this guy he knows nothing. Flash the goodness rom for a great ics experience. Calk gb rom is great, his current ics build is stable but horrible battery life. Long story short flash slim n trim, the goodness, or cm9 just make sure you flash from gb el26 kernel with cwm and you have NO risk of brick at all.

Says the guy with 3 thanks and 62 posts. I worked in a Sprint store as a technician; trust me I know what I'm talking about. Yes, you can circumvent the issues by doing what you said (flashing a Gingerbread kernel), but one misstep and you're screwed. I said nothing wrong; this guy just got his phone and he said he's still trying to get the hang of things, so like I said, I don't recommend flashing an ICS ROM [right away].
Working for sprint doesn't mean you know shiz, people brick only if they don't follow directions

Pretty good. I've owned a LOT of phones since the Evo 4G (which is still one of if not my favorite). The Epic Touch is a solid phone and will chew and spit out anything you throw at it (especially high-end games like GTA 3, Shadowgun, Riptide, etc). The camera is amazing too. You're gonna have a blast with this thing. I'm actually buying an international GS3 and heading to Straight Talk though, so I'm selling my Sprint GNexus soon.
Alright fellas come on now this how you show a new guy what the epic touch family is about lol naw but seriously I understand where you both are coming from and I've seen product around here a lot so I know he wouldn't steer me wrong but I see where yall coming from and thanks

Nothing; when Sprint runs out of supply of a phone, the system offers other phones that are usually of the same tier or better (iPhone is an exception, will never be offered or repaired by Sprint). Some reps will be nice and give you a list of choices, but most of the time they'll tell you what they've chosen for you. It's really up to the manager.

I really wish people would do more research before saying such things. Yes, there is a chance of a brick, but it has been figured out now and some safe ICS options have been developed. Check out the Development thread and look at agat63 and sfhub's offerings at the very least.

Agreed, if people read and follow the instructions, including familiarizing themself with the How not to brick your E4GT thread (link below), then bricking becomes a lesser threat.

EL29

Spent a few days back on EL29 stock rooted and its weird missing all the features from CM, AOSP, GB27, etc but you get by.
I think i really got to experience the awesome battery life, I could actually get from the time I woke-up to the time I got in bed to still be able to play games, youtube, twitter, facebook, etc without plugging charger in halfway. I love it and I think I will stay on EL29 due to the fact that I don't really need all those features from GB27 or CM, etc.
I think the thing I miss the most is the GB27 music player or the CM DSPManager

There are some pretty amazing custom EL29 ROMs. Go into the android development thread and start working your way back, especially to the days when Team Venum and Team Nocturnal were devving for this device. Yup, I've tried ICS, then JB, but still go back to trusty Blazer on GB. Battery life is phenomenal, going to sleep with on average a good 25% or more of battery life left. Smooth, few problems. I guess I'll just use JB with an upgraded phone... maybe Note 3. You can't beat EL29 for battery life.
